This episode was light on plot, but big on character, imo. I'll be honest, I generally love these episodes where the show takes a step back to basically just explore the characters' headspaces for an hour. One of my top 5 favorite episodes of the show probably qualifies as one of those. But they definitely are, admittedly, slower than the usual ep.

A lot of significant moments in this episode. Maybe slower but brilliant nonetheless. In my opinion no episode in this show deserve a lower than 7 score, but I guess it’s easier to see it in retrospect when you get what the writers are trying to tell you.

Breaking Bad creates these percieved dud episodes to move pieces onto the chessboard for the next big climactic sequence. It does so intentionally because by taking away some of the shine, polish, sizzle, etc. whatever you wanna call it from this episode and making it appear slower. It's sprinkling little details you need to pay attention to that's going to make those blow away episodes even better. That's why one of my favorite episodes ever is FLY , and for longtime fans, they'll know that's not a favorite.
