While those early episodes may feel like they were tough to get through, they were important in development of your feelings about the team and the characters individually. Like you said, you didn't like Skye at first, but that was kinda the point, you took a journey with her that made you look deeper and find an interesting character underneath. The same applies to all the characters. Another thing to remember is that even if something doesn't make sense at the time, you have to consider that there actually a good reason for what happens.

Watching this alongside the final season as it airs is great. I started watching the show because someone convinced me to, and the first season was so difficult to get into, I was watching out of obligation to them and almost resented them for it. Now I have no contact with them and real world reasons to resent them, but I feel like calling them and thanking them after every new episode.
