Yes... Hugh Laurie has won a number of awards, especially for his role as House here in House M.D. He's a phenomenal actor. :)

Ok this made me insta-upgrade. I'm a House fanatic. I fall asleep to random episodes. I have the entire 1st season memorized. So a few bits of trivia that'll hopefully make this more interesting for you: House is an allegory for Sherlock Holmes... get it? "Homes" "House"... and Dr. Wilson represents Dr. Watson. This patient, Rebecca Adler, was named after Irene Adler, a Sherlock Holmes character, who was a love interest for Holmes.

Alright. So I just watched your reaction... Couple things you had questions on that should be addressed since I'm not sure if you'll continue the show: What are the 3 other doctors in relation to House? They are his fellows. Think of it as his interns, except they are ridiculously highly qualified doctors studying under one of, if not, the best Diagnostician in the country. He needs them to bounce ideas off of. While they may sometimes have good moments, they're basically there to inspire him. Kal Penn comes in MUCH later in the show. His friend does not have a team. Only him because he's a badass. Does he have to work the clinic? In this show yes. Not sure how this relates to the real world. But he avoids it like the plague, unless it actually is the plague for the reasons you mentioned. He is only ever interested in cases that he doesn't immediately know the answer to. This episode was good for a Pilot..... but the next episode is probably my top 5 (maybe top 3) for the season.

I love House! Like many of these kinds of shows it os a blend of case of the week,with stories running through it for the main characters
