Great reaction! I agree it was a bit intense of a jump, to breaking up. At the same time, Dean was excited about the 3 month thing all day, clearly he's realized how he feels about her and was excited to let her know the extent of how he felt the whole night. When he finally does, it's not even a comical "thank you" and run away like with the first kiss, it's more of a, I dont know if I feel that way about you at this point. That's one hell of a gut punch. Whether it's logical or not, it makes you wonder why you felt sure about how you felt before the other person did. That's the kind of thing you don't forget, even if things work out eventually you'll always know the person didn't feel as strongly about you as you did about them. I'd love to have seen how the breaking up talk came up, who initiated it, etc. As it stands, it's unfair for him to be angry at her, she was just being honest. But her honesty hurt, more than he's probably been hurt in a while, so as you said, it was realistic.
