He said he saw her 3 years ago and why does he forgive his mum but not his dad?

Glad you gave this episode a 9, bodes well for future episodes lol. I would assume Shawn knew the parents were going to couples therapy and were having troubles, and then when she gets a job opportunity and jumps ship, he must have figured the dad was involved in the decision and just blamed him. What I like about this is that it means the dad never put any amount of blame or talked negatively about the mom's departure, to keep Shawn's image of her positive which clearly worked. That was really great of the dad to allow his already strained relationship with shawn take the hit to keep his idea of his mom clean.

Can’t wait until next episode - one of my favorites of the whole series. This and season 4 are probably the strongest seasons of Psych, and we’re off to a good start here.

This episode gives so much insight into the relationship between Shawn and Henry. Like Doug said, Henry shouldered the blame that shawn put upon him because he didn't want to affect his relationship with his mum. Next episode is amazing, and I truly cannot wait! This whole season is great, and the finale is possibly my favourite episode of the entire show. Though it might be tied with s4 finale, which is also incredible. Season 3 is where the show really gets into gear and finds its proper footing. You're in for the ride now

Yeah Shawn was in his senior year of high school when she left. To me that's not that big of a deal. She was there for his childhood and I'm sure they kept in contact once she left. So in my opinion leaving when your child is like 17 or 18 vs leaving when they like five is different. She felt like she did her part and now that her son was going to live his life it was time for her to live hers.
