Not a lot to write about for day 5. We didn't get a whole lot of time to work on them. We did completely finish off the shorts, though.

First, we had to pin the panels to the top and bottom of the shorts. After a bit of finessing and fiddling, we got the panels spaced how we wanted and began to hand sew the panels to the top and bottom of the shorts. After hand basting them, we sent them through the machines to do a second basting stitch. Then we sewed the bottom of the outside of the leg and waist bands on. To reduce bulk, we sent the seams through the serger, but the serger can't cut through as many layers as we were dealing with, so we had to sew a stitches a little less than how much the serger thread would cover from the seam, cut off all the excess, and then run it through the serger. This was pretty time consuming.

The final touch to the pants was hand stitching the inside of the bands down to the inside of the pant lining. This was simple but time consuming.

To end the day, we began patterning the sleeves. Tori is using the slash and spread patterning method to create puff sleeves. Our biceps are off by about two inches ( Tori is so swol 😩) so we have completely different sleeve patterns.

Today, we're hoping to get the sleeves onto the under garment and begin the bodice
