Picture: A White, White Day (93/5)
Director: Sean Durkin, The Nest (108/13)
Actress: Sidney Flanigan, Never Rarely Sometimes Always (108/12)
Actor: Shaun Parkes, Mangrove (111/11)
S. Actor: Matthew Macfadyen, The Assistant (114/11)
S. Actress: Allison Janney, Bad Education (114/10)
Screenplay: Kantemir Balagov & Aleksandr Terekhov, Beanpole (64/7)
Scene: Gymnasium / Fay's new tape recorder, The Vast of Night (77/6)

(Most people wrote something like "opening scene" or "basketball game," but there were also votes for the tape recorder and after watching it again I decided that the action is so continuous that it constitutes a single scene. And it's all under the 20-minute limit. The clip linked above is just the last few minutes, all that I could find on YouTube.)

HISTORY:

Durkin placed 10th for Martha Marcy May Marlene in 2011. (That was an insane year, competition-wise, so 10th then might be the equivalent of 6th now.)

Janney's Oscar-winning performance in I, Tonya three years ago was good enough only for #9 in our collective opinion. Everyone else is new, as are both writers.

I see what you mean about the Screenplay points.

Glad to see an Icelandic film place so high in the Skandies. We beat the Russians!

Was hoping Parkes would end up in top 5, but I’ll take this!
