Pictured is the house in Carmel-By-The-Sea where I’ve been staying for the past week and a half—my first time traveling more than about five miles from home since [gestures broadly]. Been coming here on family vacations since I was literally just a few weeks old! (This is such a depressing thing to feel obligated to say, but no judgments re: the flag, please. Been one there my entire life; it’s not a recent MAGA signifier.) I wound up doing a lot more family stuff than I’d anticipated, and hence watching fewer movies. (Not counting stuff like Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse and The Ice Road—again!—that I half-watched with Dad while intermittently being on my phone.) Hopefully the daily Skandies posts, all of which I created and auto-scheduled prior to leaving town, helped to fill the void, but thanks for allowing me this much-needed semi-hiatus. My usual review frequency will now recommence (featuring Shoah, Barb and Star, and all of the year-plus requests that I still plan to tackle in the near-ish future).
