Very pertinent questions you ask at the end of this, Josh, as to how they choose which characters to head each episode.... All I know is you will very much enjoy the final three episodes of this series!

The next 2 episodes are my favourite's in season 3. So funny - Can't wait to see your reactions!

The next episode is brilliant!

Did you notice the walls in the hotel were so thin that the couple could even hear what the guy was saying to Geoff through the phone? Cracks me up every time 😂😂

Jack Morgan

Also...as mentioned by others, these next 3 episodes are fantastic.

Hey Josh, did you spot the headline Caribbean Nose Bleed Mystery? In reference to Hilary and his special meat

I think Reese is the master of playing unhinged characters Geoff and Oli on top form in this one

Really enjoyed this episode. I think the rules changed about what was and what was not ''acceptable'' on a TV series between the last season and this one and that things had to be watered down ? They certainly changed the general feel of the show in this series y following a storyline for most of the show instead of flipping between various characters. It was around about the time this was aired that this country went PC mad and all of a sudden things that were once acceptable on TV became UN PC and we lost a lot of comedy in the process.

this season is interesting ,unlike most shows where episodes happen in a linear timeline ,this is like a single timeline in the events of certain characters and all conjoins at the very end ( so far ) I dont know if other TV shows did this style ?

You should check out some of Stewart Lee's stand up shows. He's made a career out of blaming the audience. "If You Prefer a Milder Comedian Please Ask For One" and "Carpet Remnant World" are both masterpieces.

I'm not sure it was a case of watering anything down. Not at that time anyway. Little Britain's first series didn't air until a year after series 3 of LOG. And they had black face and racist jokes in almost every episode.

With regards to your points about the best characters, I think LofG realised that the most popular characters' catchphrases (e.g. "This is a local shop for local people") were getting too much of a focus on the programme's popularity, and wanted to expand on other characters and situations to avoid the programme from getting bland and samey. I personally think it was a really ballsy move to try something different at the height of their popularity. In some ways it backfired, as this series got some negative reaction due to the lack of the most popular characters, but as you'll see this series really pays off when viewed in its entirety. It definitely improves on League of Gentlemen overall, and I think apart from a rather slow start to this series, these episodes are still brilliant. If you ever get round to Psychoville and Inside No.9, you'll see how series 3 is kind of a blueprint for those programmes in the way they play out.
