This was a heavy episode barely any comedy cold-blooded lol. I enjoyed it though, not my favorite but it had a good message about appreciation, self-reflection, and forgiveness. I know there were a few more messages in there but I'm a bum lol. I couldn't think of the name of the song the time I mentioned it at about 11 mins into the show. This felt like the end of complete show rather than the end of season 1. Felt like they wrapped up most things were well. Did they get the go ahead for another season after this?

Just realised with you putting this as episode 7, on the U.S. Netflix it is counting the pilot episode as episode 1. When it aired over here they had the pilot then the series started fully 10 months later.

They did another series and an hour long special after that to wrap it up. Karl goes at the end of episode 1 series 2. I didn't watch much more of it after he left, think I only recall 2 episodes I think I watched

The part that really gets me, is when Kev says "there's a war in my head everyday". That was such a strong analogy of depression and mental health, especially from a character that most people have judged to be annoying, rude or a waste of time. I thought that showed just how important it is not to be so judgemental when you don't know what a person is going through.

You would have seen Derek's dad before, (the actor I mean). He was in Father Ted, a very very minor role in one episode, but interesting enough that you've seen a few actors recurring in multiple shows.

Crying into my dinner.... Not a good look. I work in pharmacy and I did some training last year regarding dementia. It was designed to help us understand what it's like for the patient and their families. It had case studies which made me cry. So I didn't stand a chance with this. 😭

A very sad episode. The old girl who played the Lizzy character is very underrated, don't think I've ever seen her in anything else. I mean, she can't really be senile but she really did act the part well.

Not the best episode for Derek but looking back it really does throw up some important questions in self reflection. I don't know why it usually takes a death/funeral for this to happen though.

I am a complete robot when it comes to emotions but this episode always gets me. Even the Coldplay song, which I normally can't stand, works perfectly. Great writing and acting all round.
