Umm fresh nuggets edit also uk 🇬🇧 plugs are superior

Anonymous

I had an E71 that got washed in the sink. Still worked like a champ til the day I traded it in. And nobody was the wiser! :)

Anonymous

Actually 3g towers are getting shut down at&t is not accepting 3g activations anymore and they are shutting their 3g equip down in 2022

dominick

How is the Panda bear hadphone review going?

Anonymous

Ah the good old days when phones could be inovative without being a rectangle brick of glass and metal glued together.

Anonymous

Symbian was the worst .... my first big smartphone was the Sony Ericsson P900 --- that was a nugget too

Anonymous

i wish you had put a sim in it, i wanna see the internet functions so bad

Anonymous

Oh hey, i had one of these. Good nugget.

Marcel de Jong

Well it wasn’t so much Symbian that killed Nokia, it was their partnership with Microsoft and betting on the Windows phone horse, while iPhone and Android was eating their lunch that killed off old Nokia. The new Nokia is just a badge on HMD products.

Anonymous

My dad had one of these! I still have it in my drawer and it still works and holds a charge. 😃

OzRetrocomp

Australia's 3G network is safe until 2024, which is when Telstra will decommission their 3G network. If it's anything like the 2G shut down over here (2017-18), the others probably won't be around for much longer after that. At least this phone has a couple more years left in it as a phone.

Tree

damn i just want to rip all the tones off this phone

Anonymous

I had a Sony Ericsson flip nugget before I had the very first Galaxy S from Samsung.

Anonymous

Oh yes! 2 Megapixels.. I remember those glory days🤣

Sebastian K.

It can't find your Wifi because it only supports 2,4GHz access-points. also maybe it doesn't support WPA2 encryption

Anonymous

My first “smartphone” had a 5 megapixel camera!!

Anonymous

even though i have the newest android, i still use nokia roll on ringtone. i will never stop using it!

Quadrant

N95 was my first smartphone. The media buttons at the top were really convenient for music

Anonymous

my first smartphone was the e72 and i absolutely loved it, it was my dad's before it was mine. it was in a drawer until 2018 when we decided to throw away the old phones we had lying around and it was still charging and working, now all i have left of it is good memories

Anonymous

I remember having that same E63 for a few years. That thing was built like a tank!

Anonymous

Found that banger of a ringtone that was on the phone. I'd kill for a complete version of this track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGLdvQLb2A8

Anonymous

I had Nokia C6-00 with a sliding keyboard, it was awesome! But Symbian ruined it.

Anonymous

You could record a horror movie with that camera, the grain alone is enough to give me anxiety!

Anonymous

Does anyone have the source for the runway ringtone? Or is it literally just exclusive to the Nokia ringtone

Anonymous

My first smartphone was a Palm Treo 700p and sometimes I miss those days.

Anonymous

How long is frank?

Anonymous

I wanted the e63 so BAD, but was a bit short when it was finally out. I remember buying a Pantec Slate, which was similar shape, and decent copycat. Checking facebook daily, on a 2 inch screen really humbles you 😂

Anonymous

"this thing has 3g and everything, you could still use it today" *me* - "who's gonna tell him..... 3g is being discontinued and completely shut down soon in the United States" 😬😬😬

Anonymous

You should film an entire episode using this phone

Anonymous

The Nokia E63 was my first smart phone as well! I'll never be able to type as fast on a touch interface as I could on my old Nokia E63!

Anonymous

I’ve still got my red one and I may have to dig it out and chuck a sim in it loved this phone

Anonymous

you need to review a SONY W810i was the phone that got me through most of high school then i got my first smart phone, the samsung omnia with the optical mouse on it 😂 biggest pile of crap and was the reason i got an iphone!

Anonymous

I sold the Nokia E63 at old mate Dick Smith’s Powerhouse. And I warned people not to buy the N97 because I only got users coming back with complaints

Anonymous

"Stuck with messenger" - Ugh, tell me about it............ Join the Telegram gang. All of my friends are on it and never looked back.

Anonymous

I was really hoping it had the terrible Arabic ringtone on it :(

Anonymous

Love the E63. My daily driver for a longgg time at uni until I got a Blackberry 10 device. Even did the old case and keyboard replacement to keep it going Love them physical keyboards.

Anonymous

Love the iconic “ayyy it’s the after show”

Anonymous

Hell yeah that was my favorite not-smart phone! I used to burn through audiobooks and read digg on mine to get through work. I loved that thing.

Anonymous

If you find Jazz.aac on there between the ringtones. Try it. It’s the jankiest Nokia ringtone ever

Anonymous

Oh, man. I had an E73 Mode for a while and that thing was absolutely fantastic.

Anonymous

This reminds me of my old Blackberry Curve I had in like 2008. Loved that damn thing. That would be a fun vid. Blackberry in their prime.

Anonymous

Loved my E63, dear whoever masquerades as Nokia re-imagine this and I'd buy one!

Anonymous

Lol I have this nokia and our housemaid stole it and runaway. This was the best phone in ny neighborhood and people liked it when the ringtone also cpukd speak the contact name of the caller. I hate you, my old housemaid

Anonymous

If you turn on your phones hotspot you should be able to connect it to that, if you can get it working and anything will download we need a follow up video

Anonymous

I loved this video. This perspective from back then was so great. Good video😄

Anonymous

You can see the Nokia 9000 commuincator being used in the 1997 movie The Saint.

Anonymous

man MSN messager I haven't heard that name in a long long time

Steen Schütt

Mate everyone at school were texting with T9 (with prediction off) at school under the table without looking. I went back to an old Sony Ericsson K-series recently for a few days while getting my smartphone fixed and I still got the muscle memory. Those were the days. Also that communicator is balling.

Anonymous

Please do a drum cover of Runway.aac 😁

Anonymous

I've kept hold of my first phone since I got it in 2013. It was a crappy little Galaxy Pocket Neo, my mum saved up all summer to get me it since I needed one for secondary (crap area, mum didn't feel safe sending me off without a way of contacting her) and I loved it despite its 850mHz processor, 512mb of RAM and it's 240x320 resolution. I've got photos on it that are now 8 years old of friends I haven't met in about as long.

Anonymous

man, my first proper phone that wasnt a handmedown 3310 was a nokia C3, i used it until like, 2016. what a great phone lmao

Anonymous

Please keep that awesome ringtone as a test song

Anonymous

found it here if anyone needs it http://onj3.andrelouis.com/phonetones/unzipped/Nokia/2690/Ringtones/

Mo Hussain

Aw man I had this in black. Didn’t have a data plan or WiFi at home so it was pretty useless for the first year. Absolutely a classic tho.

Anonymous

That ringtone was an 11/10. I want a full version of it lol

Anonymous

i had a very similar one, but it was Samsung that made it and the pictures it took were so awful, all my graduation photos are super pixelated and basically 2 inches wide, but those keyboards were awesome ngl

Anonymous

I remember my grandma had something like that and I used to play red ball on it as a kid. those were the days

Anonymous

Did he ever say about what happened to the mojo

Anonymous

This video is the closest we’ve gotten to an outro with these patreon videos lmao

Anonymous

You know, it'd be super interesting to see all the outtakes of the main videos in an after show in like a compilation. Just to prove that like everyone makes mistakes 🤷‍♂️

Mikesapien

The audio at 3:03. LMAO

Anonymous

did you guys see that grados teamed up with pokemon?

Anonymous

my favorite Nokia phones ever is the N9, the 808 and the Lumia 930! if you can make a video with one of those, that would be cool!

Anonymous

Man, I really miss the 90s/00s tech vibe, especially the stuff from the mid to late 00s. It just felt so...high tech. Nowadays, the jump from one touch screen to another feels mundane, but things like this felt like a cyberdeck; you felt like a hacker carrying one of these. Now I have to make a cyberpunk story set in an alternate version of 2008. Thanks, Dank.

Hebonky

Seems pretty stupid to me

Anonymous

my first ever phone was my moms old motorola flip phone, i miss those days 😔

Anonymous

1:51 I also had a slidey Sony phone. The Ericsson W395. That dongle was dire but I loved that phone so much and was the last non-smartphone I ever owned.

Anonymous

I had this phone when I was working as a journalist, and I got stress flashbacks hearing that NEW EMAIL alert.

Anonymous

my first actual phone was an S4, but i remember having one of those with the Tetris demo, and nothing else. it was way smaller and from a different company. i also remember my mom having one of the first android phones, she had it for years. discovered YouTube on that thing. hours of waiting in the dentist waiting area playing doodle jump. 8 years ago was a truly different time

Anonymous

Man, my mom had a phone like that, i always used to play games on it at the dentist xD

Anonymous

"Runway.aac" legit sounds like a Street Fighter 4 theme. lmao

arcticfox12x

My first after show since I became a patron. My first smart phone was an lg optimus (I think that was the name). And oh boy was that thing awesome when I got it. I still have it today and I really don't remember the screen being so small.

Anonymous

My Mum-in-law had a very similar one if not the same model. We still have it and my daughter briefly used it as her first phone when she started school. I love the form factor and wish i had the tech chops to stick a raspberry pi in one.

Anonymous

You must film a whole video with this thing.

Anonymous

I had the E71 in 09 which was a hand-me-down from my dad when he upgraded to an iphone 3G, simpler times

Anonymous

"I've just come home." Exactly the way I felt when I got my hands on an N-Gage QD again back in the early 2010s, five years after I got robbed of the exact same phone.

Anonymous

i NEED those ringtones!!!

Gilbert Creemers

It reminds me of my Nokia C3 and my mom's E72. I remember my C3 being absolute junk. Wi-Fi didn't work properly, while it had Whatsapp, that wouldn't work either. Whily my mom's E72 was a beatiful device with so many features for the time that just worked. Rudimentary web browsing, Nokia Here maps (before it split of into what we now now as HERE WeGo). I remember being so jealous of it haha

Anton

Runway is the new Scarlet Fire. I had (and kept) the Nokia e71. Was a brilliant phone. Like this but way slimmer and better made. Caveat: 2.5mm headphones jack. The internet however left it behind, it could go no higher than Opera 11.

Hexameme

Can't remember if it was this exact model but yeah Nokia E series was my first phone as well.

Anonymous

My first "smartphone" was a VirginMobile Rumor Touch. It was a nugget, but it still holds a special place in my heart.

Anonymous

I miss the days when Nokia was like this. My first phone was the N70. I felt like a bad ass

Anonymous

i still dont have a phone

Anonymous

i like to imagine that this is my friend showing me his cool gadgets on the bus to school in the 2000s, going through ringtones with my friends is definitely something I would've done on the bus if i had friends

Anonymous

Dankpods, You could use your phone hotspot and turn it to 2.4ghz and it might work, give it a shot if you want. And it's 4G, also i think you could also host a 3G network on some devices.

Anonymous

dankpods you could use that phone as your work phone!? instead of the flipper! just as a thought.

Anonymous

that runway tone sounded like one of your creations not gonna lie

Anonymous

That ringtone needs to go on the list of garbage stream songs haha

Anonymous

I was today years old when I found out the little mirror in the back was for selfies…

Anonymous

One of my favourite phones!

Anonymous

My first mobile phone was an LG slide phone, but this Nokia was my second one. The way this phone performed only 9 years ago is unbelievable

Anonymous

we need a video filmed entirely on the nokia nugget

Anonymous

but only video, no audio. Else you would't be able to understand a thing.

Anonymous

i see someone likes peppa pig

Anonymous

Kind of surprised you didn’t get on the kit and play to Runway. Maybe next time.

Anonymous

In the Ben10 video he said that the Mojo is unhappy, and that it needs to go back to England to get fixed but he can’t be bothered so he’s using the Diablo because it’s doing a good job

MO

as usual a quality vid my boy! road to 1 million here we come!

Anonymous

my first smartphone was a nokia, it was lime green, ran windows phone 8 and was complete garbage to use

Anonymous

Today I joined patreon and this is the first person i decided to support, not anyone else, this guy, he deserves it

Anonymous

sorry I'm gonna be annoying. Nicehck x49. $15 freedoms balanced armature drivers.

Anonymous

Dank should remake that ringtone

Anonymous

Hey dank, would you consider doing a review on the wireless Grado headphones? They're called the GW100 and they seem pretty neat being true open back wireless headphones.

AJPRIME TECH

I grew up on an LG flip phone that was an absolute piece of junk, but sure did make some reliable phone calls.

marito_yo

nostalgic for me

Formulka

My first smartphone was the original n-gage, but the smaller brother of this thing, the E51, was the real deal. GPS, "internet", mp3 player, it had it all and it was so well made.

Anonymous

Seriously though, there are some who still blackberry’s and won’t change. This is very similar. Do you remember when you could get light up everything for your phone a battery, a case, the antenna.

Anonymous

I'm so glad i got the patreon this is amazing

Anonymous

You know dank you could probably connect it up via wifi by going to your router's settings and changing the signals that it broadcasts. If you wanna try it out at some point, check to see if a Wireless G signal is being put out; possibly wireless N too but I would imagine a phone that age would be G.

Anonymous

mmm peppa pig bandage 😉😉😉

Anonymous

Incomplete video. Did not attempt to put Scarlet Fire on the device. :P

Anonymous

I remember my first quasi-smartphone was a Sony Ericsson K850i. I was blown away by it, until I saw my step-brother's Nokia N95 with Symbian. Back in the day I saw it as the best you could get, though the CyberShot camera with a real xenon flash on the K850i was unbeatable back in the day.

Candy Kane

I had an E71 I think as my first 'official' smart phone. I still actually have it and because it does infrared I can use it to hack some of my tamagotchis so it has a use still for me which gives me an excuse to keep it longer.

Anonymous

For anyone who wants that slammin 'runaway' ringtone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGLdvQLb2A8 Great video as always!!

Anonymous

I loved the E63, back in 2010 it was the phone to have if you couldn't afford/parents wouldn't buy an iPhone. It was also a tank, mine ended up with a smashed screen, middle button torn off and the rear cover broken but the phone still kicked on and if I knew where it was I could probably boot it up and start using it again.

Anonymous

You say whenever you mention meze all the Romanians get excited, whenever I see one of your nugget phones with a UK network like Three or O2 I can imagine all us Brits get just as excited

Anonymous

Ohhhh boy. My best friend used to have this. We both used to have LG cookies but the screen sucked so much we both went back to buttons LOL I was too broke for this phone so I got a Samsung Ch@t 335 in hot pink which is still, to this day, one of my favourites. It had an english dictionary I would use to look up swearwords lol I probably owe some of my english knowledge to that phone, I spent too long on that app.

Anonymous

The Nokia E series in general was hot fire. The Nokia E6 is quite a nugget - it's a lot like the Zune HD in many ways. Because it was a beautiful device with a horrible OS. For a brief time an E6 with modded software was my daily driver, most of the apps were community-updated to kind of barely work. I had to ditch it when WhatsApp stopped support on Symbian.

Anonymous

I absolutely loved this thing, I dailied it until the charger wouldn't stay in or charge it anymore, then I tried to get another one, only to end up finding the closest thing to it, an E71, which despite being higher end, felt like a downgrade. One of my favourite things to do with it was to hold down the space bar just long enough for the flashlight to flash, making schoolmates think I'm taking photos of them

Anonymous

Man, it'd be hilarious if he did a drum cover of the "Runway" ringtone.

Anonymous

i got the exact model for 20 dollars and it works best. even though i have a phone thats touchscreen. i love the keyboard and exploring this e61.

Anonymous

oh. it doesnt connect to wifi. only wlan. before wifi.

Anonymous

my first smartphone was a vodafone 858 android phone i got back in 2011/2012. it was a total nugget. its just as responsive as the nuggets you review... not very.

Anonymous

My first Smartphone was a Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type it was very nice, i remember being jelly about my friends n97 as it had Galaxy on fire on it, after that i got a Nokia Lumia 800 then a, 735 years later and eventually a second hand 1020 that i loved cause it's camera was leages ahead of most until around 2017 when it broke, and got one of the New Nokia Phones released by HMD Global and still very durable and good price to performance.

Anonymous

My first phone was a blackberry curve... it was awesome for 14yo me.

Anonymous

Those Ol' nokia dirty buds were and still are my tried and true headphones, yes my ears have been grated like cheese over the years but, it works for me :D

graden

" its 3g you can still this today" not anymore... this aged like milk

Marvin Arand

I liked the old Symbian OS's, had it on my Nokia 6630, There was even Carmageddon for it, but I did prefer Windows Mobile 6.1, which is why I recently bought a HTC Tytn 2, that is a wonderful nugget. I currently have an emulator on it that runs Mac OS 7 and other fun stuff, and it has my favourite slide out keyboard.

Anonymous

This is a nice little phone!

Anonymous

About the 5GHz wifi thing. You can usually switch to 2.4 GHz if you can get to your router settings. My own Netgear can't, but if you enable its Guest network, it stays in 2.4 GHz mode.

Anonymous

That runway ringtone was so good I mixed it to make it a bit longer and made it my iPhones ringtone

Anonymous

my brother had one of these till he put it through the wash. also had a homeless guy throw one of these at me in la tis the dream

Anonymous

I rocked the E71 in that time period, and the keyboard was really the winner of this thing! I had an N95 8GB before this, and I already liked using it in landscape anyways + since the OS is the same I really fell in love with the E71. Something it did very well to compete with BlackBerry who was really popular at that time is to make the device super premium and sleek feeling. It was a high quality but super thin phone, and the back was metal, which made it really stand out! After that I got an N900, which I still love to this day but it was pretty much a failed device 😅

Anonymous

Can you please not play my highschool alarm sounds? They bring back terrible memories 😶

Anonymous

Stan a peppa pig bandaid tho

Anonymous

As a person with stupidly small ears these Nokia earphones are, and I kid you not, the ONLY earphones that fit me. Not even the original apple stuff, only these nuggets, it's horrible. I've had to resort to chonky headphones ever since, they can get very annoying sometimes.

Anonymous

I feel your pain, though in my case my ear canals are tiny. I’d never used ear buds before, but I decided to try the KZ ZSN Pro X ear buds he recommended and they fit! They come with really tiny bud bits, so it might be worth giving them a shot. I did have to get used to them pushing on a spot, but I ended up using them the entire time on a 4 hour road trip.

Anonymous

Thanks for the suggestion, MiniMoto! I looked for the model in a local website and they actually have them stocked, i was very surprised haha. I'll buy a pair when I have cash to spare and I'll update you if they fit. Cheers! :)

Anonymous

Hey can you take the falls tone for the emails on there and remix it, please? I liked it and wonder what that would sound like remixed today.

Anonymous

They are good ones, but I still can't tell what size my canals are and I've worn earbuds since I knew about them. I have a hard time with deciding which tips to use. Sometimes the mediums work and sometimes the small ones do. Now my mom's dog cracked the basn's I had, so I'm trying to decided which ones to get. KZ now does TWS, so I'm really debating, because thanks to this wonderful guy we subscribe to, I got the Fiio BTR5, and while my savings were a little sad, my ears were happy. So I want good wired quality clipped to my shirt, but I want to try the wireless KZ too. Hmmmmmmm.

Anonymous

I had those black earphones, they were amazing at the time 😂

Anonymous

I always end up wanting to buy something after videos like this. I had a Nokia C3 00 which was just like this one but way better. And those earphones brought back so many memories

Anonymous

I had a Sony Ericsson K770 with CYBERSHOT on it around this time! ;D

Anonymous

For some reason the heaphones remind me about the 2007 apple Bluetooth head phone no clue why though

Anonymous

The "runaway" ringtone really reminded me of Speed Highway in Sonic Adventure, anyone else?

Anonymous

damnit now I have an earworm named runway
