Episode 12 is crazy

Patpet

Both brothers interpret the nightmares and the intentions of the stone wrongly. Stefan since he was young had a codependent personality, His problem is not Damon and the love he has for him, but his codependency. He has to learn to stand on his feet and not relying on others to sort his problems. He always let others to be his solutions, Damon when he was young, Lexy, Elena, and Damon again, he has to let go his codependency that is in his head has the form of Damon, because Damon, being the most important figure in his life, the person everything is connected with, represent his emotional life and his fears. Damon, on the other end, is still battling with him not being worth of Elena, and being a bad person. The entire Lily situation brought back to the surface so many important issues the two brother have buried inside, but that are very much the things that govern their lives, still. That is why I love season 7 , it is so incredibly psychologically deep.

The stone is not friendly, it find your worse fear, your deepest weakness, your desires and wishes and twist them into a meanning of making your life a living hell, messes up with your head making you think that what you are experiencing is aiming to your liberation. And is not, is the worse punishment for anybody that get trapped in the stone using the knowledge you have of yourself. I can't get over how genial are TVD writers. In other seasons the enemy was physical, this season is psycological, is their own traumas and issues, and Lily, the Heretics, the Hutress are only the meaning to bring them out and forcing our group but maily the brothers having to deal with it . Sorry but I 've never ever in my long life encounter another show as deep as this one.

Does anyone like Matt?

Patpet

In general yes, I do, but little less in this season. 😁

I Am Not Chamari

With Matt, it's tough. Sometimes I sympathize with him and other times, I really don't. Matt has a right to be upset that his town was taken away from him, as well as his sister, because of vampires. His entire life got turned upside down by them and he was constantly used as a pawn multiple times because of it. He's sick of being the victim and sick of feeling powerless against them. He's sick of all the death and destruction they bring. He hates them for ruining his life. I even get why he was a little pissy at Damon. Sure, he just came back from Hell and everything, but no one gives a human who has a psychotic break as much credit as they do vampires. A serial killer who goes on a murderous rampage, even after experiencing the worst of the worst, gets jailed or killed. Of course, the circumstances for vampires are different. A lot of them didn't ask to be the way they are and they have to deal with the very nature of themselves changing and their heightened emotions that make their reactions to stuff super difficult and different from humans. Where Matt upsets me is that he won't admit that he's out of his league and he can't get it into his mind that he needs vampires on his side to survive. He's been put in danger by them, but also saved by them countless times. He doesn't have to pretend to like them as a species, but he can't be upset at every single person around him who allows a vampire into their life when he willfully throws himself directly in the line of danger every single time. Being mad at Bonnie was so so dumb and Matt needs to learn how to choose his battles wisely.

I Am Not Chamari

Also, Paul directed this episode, so that's probably why you took note of the directing.
