GRAAAH! Deb and Dan plotting against Naley pisses me off so much! They are literally actively trying to break their sons heart so he'll come back to them! That's so manipulative! This is exactly why Nathan got emancipated in the first place! To escape the toxicity. It's sad that it doesn't actually surprise me from either though. Cuz although Deb was trying in S1 to be a good mother, she'd barely been around before that, she chose an affair over her own son, and there had to be a reason that Nathan was so eligible for emancipation other than just Dan. There had to be a reason with Deb too, otherwise she just would've been granted full custody... So yeah, it doesn't surprise me as much as I wish it would, as much as it does you. She clearly loves Nathan, but right now it's more that she loves him selfishly. She wants him back no matter what, even if it hurts him in the process. I love how Nathan just was not interested in the stripper. I love that all he did when she was there was play video games with her and talk about Haley. And Tim is such an idiot, but he's hilarious! I also love that the River Court guys were invited to the Bachelor Party. They're integrating! Nathan's friends are becoming Lucas' friends and Lucas' friends are becoming Nathan's friends! It's awesome! Okay, but when Lucas found the pictures, he saw ones of Nathan first and it made him smile and that was so cute! And the fact that Nathan knew about the pictures of Lucas. That hurts me tbh. Because knowing Dan, who wants to bet that he used them against him at least once? Like, made him think that if he wasn't good enough he'd just go get Lucas instead. And especially when he was younger, he'd probably believe he could just do that. Especially as he's admitted he thought he had it better growing up because Dan was there, he'd think that Karen and Lucas would be thrilled if Dan came and chose them. So yeah, Nathan knowing about the pictures really concerns me a lot, really does make me wonder how he'd know about them. But I love that Nathan understands that Lucas needs to find out for himself about Dan. He's concerned for him, because he knows what Dan is like as a Father, but I think part of him is actually kinda hopeful that maybe he really has changed. And part of him is probably terrified that Dan will like Lucas better. I honestly would not be surprised if Dan did use that against him growing up, that he has Lucas as kinda a backup in case Nathan isn't good enough... It just seems like something Dan would do... We've seen how he plays with both of them. How he'll praise Nathan overly in front of Lucas just to get under his skin, and that upsets Nathan too because he knows he's just doing it to upset Lucas and so it's not genuine praise. And he'll make Nathan fear that Lucas will be better than him at Basketball, and take his place on the team, take everything from him. He made them both feel like they weren't enough, by using the other against them. So he probably did that in other ways too. Brooke throwing Haley's party was great! She really does know what she's doing with these things, and it really did look like fun! Ya know, until they had no money and had to pay by washing dishes and all that... Hahaha I feel for both Keith and Karen in this situation. Because he's been in love with her forever, so being rejected would hurt a lot and he's gonna need some time which is completely understandable. But from Karen's side of things, she just told the truth in that she wasn't interested like that (or just not ready, or scared of falling for another Scott.) and she loses her best friend because of it. I can't blame Keith for needing some time and space, but I do feel for Karen too... Poor Brooke with the whole money thing too. That must be so scary and upsetting! Still so pissed at Deb and Dan for WANTING their sons marriage to fail and for his heart to get broken... ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS BE SUPPORTIVE AND THEY CAN BE IN HIS LIFE! Keith looked so happy when Nathan showed up to work though! He clearly regrets not being there for him growing up and leaving him to suffer Dan alone, and seems excited to get to spend some time with him and get to know him better. And Nathan too. He doesn't really know his own Uncle, like he's heard about him from Lucas and Haley, knows him a little from family things, but he doesn't know him like Lucas does, and he's finally getting the chance to get to know him a little. :) Back to those pictures. Yes, that was very manipulative of Dan, getting Lucas to see them. It's like he's saying "Hey, look! I'm not a piece of shit, I have pictures of you! Do you believe I love you now? I know I was never there for you growing up, and that I was a jackass to you whenever I saw you, and that I was abusive towards your brother and abandoned your Mother too, but I have these pictures of you. Please let me be your Father!" And I feel for Lucas with this. Because no matter how many times he tells himself and others that he doesn't care about Dan, or that he's over him and doesn't need any type of relationship with him, he DOES. He does want to know for himself, and give it a shot. Because while Keith is great and has helped raise him and has been like a Father to him, he's not his biological father, he can't give him the answers he craves. And we know from seeing him with Nathan, that this just can't end well for anyone because Dan doesn't know how to be a good father. Love how Lucas and Nathan kinda switched though. At the beginning of the show, Nathan was trying to get Dan's approval and Lucas was happy with just Keith and his Mum and Haley. Now, Lucas is trying to get Dan's love and approval, while Nathan is trying to build a relationship with Keith and has Haley with him through everything and he's there for her too. Best part though, they're acting like brothers and they're supportive of each other! Karen going to College is great! She deserves to do things for herself! Plus, she's still young! She sometimes seems a little older just because of the fact that she had Lucas so young, but truth is, she's still really young and she deserves to have her own life. And I love that Lucas wants that for her. He doesn't want her to sit out her whole life on his account, he's a teenager, he doesn't need her around 24/7, he can find his own things to do and eat and she can live her life. Of course, that doesn't mean she's gonna just abandon him for this, but that's the point. He knows that just because she's doing her own thing doesn't mean she's abandoning him. (Something Deb could learn from. BE SUPPORTIVE LIKE LUCAS, DEB! MAYBE YOUR SON WILL WANT YOU IN HIS LIFE THAT WAY!)

I Am Not Chamari

I feel for Deb, I really do, and I stuck up for her in Season 1. But I just cannot do it any longer. If you think about it, this is just like her character. She is selfish. Although this was when she was younger, she was still going to leave her son with Dan for, basically a stranger and her constant working to get away from Dan, at the expense of her son, also shows her selfish tendencies. Now, she feels like she is completely losing her son, so of course she is going to selfishly try to sabotage his happiness to make herself feel better. She's done it before. The Keith and Karen scene was actually quite significant. To me, it felt like closure for their relationship. Karen is sad/disappointed that Keith hasn't been going to the cafe since he's been back and Keith is still hurt over his failed proposal. Karen still wants Keith to be in her life, but Keith cannot do it. So, maybe, we'll be seeing less of Keith and Karen? At least, for the time being. Dan is super manipulative and phoenix effect, or no phoenix effect, I don't trust him. His new outlook on life might be genuine, but his methods are questionable and I am sort of just waiting for all of this to wear off. Finally, Lucas is SO supportive, of truly everyone in his life. I like this guy. I've missed him. Welcome back.

I’m loving your perspective on the show and how you see the whole Nathan, Lucas and Dan relationship.
