Cue two of my all-time favourite Buffy characters 😍

Raven Dark

Sophie: "Spike? Buffy's love interest from the movie?" No. The guy in the movie's name was Pike. It's a coincidence that the names are that close.

So, sometimes you might get multiple comments from me on the same reaction. Sorry, it's because Patreon has a habit of making them disappear or not allowing edits on comments to take. Which means I can't add to them after I post, and I often have to leave comments on things when I see them instead of waiting until the reaction is over or else I forget to say them. Fun facts: The title of this episode, School Hard, is a play off a 1980's action movie, Die Hard. It's about a lone ex cop who gets trapped in a building with a bunch of terrorists holding people hostage, and he has to take them out single-handed. Exactly like Buffy did with the vamps in this episode. There is a scene in Die Hard where John Mcclane (the hero) has to crawl through a ceiling tunnel above the terrorist's heads, just like Buffy did with the vamps here. Ah, yes, Drusilla. She's so delightfully creepy. Her and Spike are such an interesting couple. Just for clarification, so that there isn't a lot of confusion later, Buffy's mom still doesn't really know what's going on or what Buffy is. It was dark and she couldn't see Spike's face well. Joyce said, "I didn't get a good look, but is there something wrong with their faces?" I don't think she saw Buffy stake that vamp through the hole in the door either. Her line of sight was too high. At most, she would have seen the stake come down, but she wouldn't have really understood without seeing it go into the vamp or seeing him dust. If I saw what Joyce saw, unless I was already aware that there were vampires, I would have thought they were wearing those kinds of masks robbers wear, only scarier. Joyce didn't see her daughter fighting vampires. She saw partial things in very low light that looked unusual or looked like Buffy maybe fighting something, but that can be explained in other ways that don't involve the supernatural. Spike calling Buffy "love" is not a term of endearment. It's a British thing. I think. Well, anyway, it's just an expression. I didn't notice this until someone pointed it out on another reaction a few days ago, but, Spike's line, "Fee Fie Foe Fum, I smell the blood of a nice, ripe girl." I always thought that was odd and didn't really get it. But earlier, when Buffy, Xander and Willow were at the Bronze, Xander went in to get a stake for Buffy, and he had to go through her purse. One of the things he pulled out of her purse was a tampon. :D Toward the start of the episode, Sheila asks Buffy if she really set fire to a school one time, because Snyder mentioned it in his office. Buffy says, "Not only one time." I always thought this was odd too. She only did it once, to her previous school in LA, and that's what Snyder was referring to. It isn't in the movie, but rather, the show implies that she did it after what happens at the end of the film. Anyway, someone also commented on the same reaction, reminding me that in the episode before this one, the lab where that zombie and the girl those guys were building for him were torched was in the school. It was the science lab, I think they said. Buffy didn't start that fire, it was an accident, but her comment to Sheila suggests that either she sees it as her own fault, or she's just implying that Snyder does. Or both. I've seen this show hundreds of times, and I never put either of those last two points together before. You asked how old Angel is. I want to say 240, but I think that's wrong. Someone correct me. It's close to that, though. Great reaction. Eagerly awaiting more from this season. For me, this episode is where the show really starts to pick up and find it's feet.

Have you ever watched TheLexiCrowd reactions? I swear, you guys are so much alike. Some of the things you say are eerily similar to one another. You also happen to be an episode or two apart on your watch. I'm really enjoying both of your reactions. But yeah, you both seem like you would absolutely hit it off in real life as friends.

Spike is absolutely attractive. It's interesting you verbalized that in this episode because most people are so mesmerized by his introduction/James' acting, they don't mention it. Great reaction!!!
