Thanks, Sophie! A couple things - I’m not sure if I mentioned that this is Angelina’s own song. She had collaborators on the music but the lyrics are hers. She is singing to her family — her parents, uncle and especially grandmother who have guided and protected her. For me, the incredible moment in this song is when she says “forgive me for all that I am”. She feels that she is a burden. This beautiful, immensely talented, sweet, kind, generous, charitable soul feels that she is a burden on her family. Humility. Yes she was 12 yrs old and I believe she started writing it when she was 11.

Also, you mentioned about a spiritual connection. I hope I’m not repeating myself to you, but I’ve had a lot of health problems this year, spent over 2 months in hospital, and had a lot of rough days. Her music was a huge part of what kept me going, especially when I was isolated from my family due to COVID-19 restrictions in the hospital. She has the ability to touch souls and to heal them.
