Arrival at the Capital
After the incident with Lehreta, we encountered monsters several times, but we managed to reach the Capital before the gates closed at dusk.
However, as dusk approached, our super-sized magic vehicle appeared, attracting a large crowd of spectators.

We couldn't move forward easily because people gathered on both sides, though wisely no one stood in front of the vehicle.
Eventually, guards from the city gate arrived and dispersed the spectators, allowing us to proceed, but it was a challenge until then.

Is everything alright over here?

"... Honestly. I understand the circumstances, but this behavior is a bit much for the common folk."

"Oh? Weren't they just spectators?"

"Most of them are impoverished people living outside the city walls. When a rare vehicle passes through, they block the path and try to steal the cargo. I know they have no jobs and scarce rations, but this is going too far."

"Ahaha..."

"Also, this time they were swarming around a magic vehicle bearing the crest of Marquis Vardmoi. Even if the perpetrators were unaware, if someone were to throw stones, all of the on duty guards might have been in trouble. Thankfully, the guards arrived quickly, which saved us."

"So, you were driving with the sides facing the gate?"

"Yes. If there were any issues with the Marquis Vardmoi's transport vehicle, the gate guards would also be held responsible."

Alizeé is indeed capable, but I wouldn't want to make an enemy out of her. She'll use anything at her disposal.

We continued under the escort of the guards until we reached the gate.
While the cargo was inspected to some extent, thanks to the letter prepared by Marquis Vardmoi in advance, we weren't thoroughly interrogated.
We managed to hide Lady Harriet and little Bern’s presence successfully, so our infiltration seems to have been a success.

Once inside the Capital, we headed straight for the headquarters of the Trade Guild to unload the cargo brought from Vardmoi.
Since there's quite a bit of it, unloading will take some time.
But we can't have Lady Harriet and little Bern waiting outside; after all, they’ve come to the Capital secretly.
They'll have to stay put inside the Lumite Grand Wing during unloading.

"So, this is Frost Wyvern meat. How much is there?"

"We packed mainly meat, so it's about the equivalent of seven wyverns. On the other hand, the other materials are in relatively small quantities."

"Well, we can manage with the other materials even by air transport, so that's a relief. Fresh meat tends to be heavy..."

"We can't smoke or dry Frost Wyvern meat, after all. Would it be alright if we waited until the transportation is completed?"

"Sorry for the trouble. You have transported this cargo on behalf of the Marquis, so it must be flawless. And, you understand this, being from the Trade Guild, right, Alizée?"

"... Thieves trying to steal the cargo."

"We've punished and expelled quite a few, but it seems they keep appearing. Honestly, the security in Vardmoi seems better than in the Capital."

I see, so Vardmoi has better security.
I wonder if the oddities in the Adventurers’ Guild are due to the aftermath of the previous Guild Master and his followers doing as they pleased?
In any case, I've learned that the security in the Capital isn't great.
I'll try not to go out too much.
