Catastie Day 6: Return to Vardmoi
After leaving Catastie, the Lumite Grand Wing traveled along the highway towards Vardmoi.
Along the way, we passed by and overtook traveling merchants, carriages, and magic vehicles.
As usual, this car was extraordinarily fast.
It feels like cheating since it's a large vehicle.
It seems to have a considerable payload capacity, so I wonder how much merchandise it can carry when fully loaded?

Once we entered the plains, we veered off the highway and began traveling through the plains.
Due to it being winter, most of the grass was dried up.
There were no signs of animals or monsters, and it seemed peaceful enough to return safely... or so I thought.

"Is that a dragon?"

"It's a species of earthen drakes, but yes, technically, it's a dragon. They're commonly referred to as Plain Earth Dragons."

We encountered a dragon.
Moreover, it was staring right at us, so escaping seemed impossible.
Well, technically, we could escape, but if we did, we'd end up dragging it towards the highway.
If we went in the opposite direction, there might be multiple dragons, so it's better to defeat it here.
Hmm, today wasn't supposed to be a hunting day, though.

"Alizée, what's its rank?"

"It's a lower Copper rank. I think everyone from the Wildcat Claws should be able to handle it without a problem."

"Are you all okay with that?"

"No problem. It's a bit dangerous opponent, but let's defeat it."

Wow, Keuko is confident!
Everyone was full of fighting spirit.
I guess dragons are in a different league?

"The purpose is to earn the title of 'Dragon Slayer' bestowed upon adventurers who defeat dragons. The title of 'Dragon Slayer' is one of the greatest honors for adventurers."

I see.
I vaguely understood thanks to Alizée’s explanation.

Now, the battle between everyone from the Wildcat Claws and the Plain Earth Dragon was quite one-sided.
Yeah, our weapons are just too strong.
Keuko's two-handed sword and Uhiha’s one-handed sword easily cut through its scales.
Even Akumi’s arrows accurately pierced its weak points.
Tomoa’s magic also quickly settled the battle by roasting the dragon's flesh.

The problem was what to do after defeating it, transporting back was quite difficult.
After all, it's stupidly huge because it was a dragon.
It's not just larger than the Lumite Grand Wing; it's even bigger than Daigo Seventeen.
So, we had to choose what to take back, but there's no place to discard dragon materials.
It was quite a dilemma figuring out what to take back.
Alizée had decided to bring back the head and tail, but it was difficult to choose between other parts.
Besides, it seems that it's rare for a large amount of dragon materials to be brought back to the city after defeating a dragon.

In the end, we dismantled it as much as possible, and we had to discard both hind legs that couldn't fit.
Even though we said we would discard the hind legs, we still brought back some edible parts.
The rest will be taken to the Adventurers' Guild to be dismantled.

Yeah, after bringing back dragon materials to the Adventurers' Guild, there was quite a commotion.
