Thank you soo much - always enjoy our special extra footage - feels like i am just hanging out with you behind the scenes and loved the sneak preview of the phenomenal chandelier xxx

Anonymous

Cheering for you, wishing you All Goodness for your summertime!

Anonymous

Truly, it is exciting to see the installation after seeing your shopping spree, months ago.

Anonymous

You could start to dig out the swimming pool too and take soil from there!

Anonymous

That was lovely. Thanks. 🥰🥰🥰

Anonymous

I'm absolutely with Philip! Food that has armour shouldn't be eaten! And as for singing Irish folk music, (they are not see shanties), being it on!!!! 😉

Evelyn McElroy

This was wonderful footage. The chandelier is magnificent!

Anonymous

Yes to Tracy Green if they could keep the excavated hole safe. Lobsters are delicious, I am from Nova Scotia. Maybe not for Phillip as his nurturing side is very strong, what a terrific dad he will be!! Very exciting episode, absolutely my favorite types, reno /planning reno and then there are Brocants !!!! What a wonderful episode!

Anonymous

Thanks! I love LeLande so much but Castle ten Bergh is a fairy tale. I could lie on the floor for years on end staring at the ceiling in the dining room and spend the rest of my life gazing at the fireplaces. Imagine doing vocal warmups in the chapel balcony. I want your garden done instantly. 😃🤗

Anonymous

Keep making compost...you'll have lovely soil to start your new plants.

Anonymous

How many "secret" Escape DIY projects have yet to be revealed? Does anyone know? There was a series that was postponed during early days of Covid (welcome entrance with the lovely wallpaper we've seen bits and pieces of)....I've heard Stephanie talking about filming a few times over the last year. Usually 3 per DIY season, right? So, maybe 6 secret projects? Or 9? Any guesses!

Anonymous

That was lovely! Glad to be back! ☺️

Anonymous

Now THAT is a chandelier ! Many years ago my best friend picked me up from college and drove me in the rain to Brighton, blindfolded me and led me up into a building. He had just bought a whole floor of a Victorian building that had a glazed in frontage and in each room there was a chandelier like this. I spent many great moment there, dancing with the great danes to Neil Diamond records !

Anonymous

Thank you! Love seeing the extra footage!🤗

Anonymous

Love seeing behind the scenes the chandelier is magnificent can’t wait for all the reveals keep up the great work

Anonymous

So glad you reached $31,000. Love the footage and seeing the projects move ahead.

Anonymous

Thrilled for you; also, I was amazed at how the perfume lasted across to pond to Manitoba. I opened the envelope and the lovely perfume smelled wonderful. It's such a wonderful added touch and greatly appreciated. Well done to all of you at LaLande, for brilliantly utilizing the funds to keep this treasure for the next generation. It's such a fun ride.

Anonymous

Great milestone

Anonymous

Yes I think including this time around it must be 6 projects... The first time it was filmed I am presuming it was still under the production 'escape to chateau diy'.. So once the show became 'château diy' they might have had to re film few things? Just guessing here... All I know for sure is, one of the project is entrance hall re decoration and one more is the pigeon tower staircase.

Anonymous

Could someone spell out the type of garden they are discussing to view from the guest rooms?

Anonymous

Stephanie. Left a message for you in Patreon x

Anonymous

Could you attach a mesh screen on those openings to keep the birds out, but keep the open ventilation?

Anonymous

OK, I'm loving Stephanie's Daft Punk welding helmet eclipse moment! Effortless in everything from historical costumes, French summery dresses, peacock costumes and now this! :)

Anonymous

The Wild Rover is an Irish trad song

Anonymous

YES! 1/2 inch welded hardware cloth would last for years and keep the breeze flowing and the birds and mice OUT. Perfect solution.

Anonymous

Really excited to watch Stephanie’s bedroom/boudoir unfold. It’s going to be gorgeous!

Anonymous

I am really happy for you Stephanie. Also La Lande is the happiest most lovely place to live.

Julia Cobb

Truly you’ve had a full schedule. I’m continually amazed at all that is packed in your brain. Philip was such a true friend with the Strawberry daiquiri. Yum. The chandeliers absolutely gorgeous. Rest as much as possible.

Anonymous

Loved the footage. Regarding finding extra soil, have you considered digging out where the swimming pool will ultimately be? Got to be done eventually anyway.... Just a thought. Xx

Anonymous

Oh, it is now $31,005. Because I just became a Patron!

Anonymous

I appreciate you posting extra footage! Always those little extras and details are special.

Anonymous

What a great idea! With that the car park space and Then there’s the amphitheater as well, that should be almost all that they will need. Maybe some new top soil just to finish off…..

Anonymous

I’m with Philip :) . Unfortunately I love meat too much to become a vegetarian but the slices of meat and fish I eat do not resemble where they came from. I’m weird, I know :) Love all the extra footage 💕💕💕

Anonymous

As already mentioned, maybe dig out the swimming pool site for the extra soil needed? With that, the amphitheater and car park space, you would have all the soil you need, other then some possible topsoil. do all the digging and soil moving this autumn/winter and get that part done, it will make a mess that’s for sure. But you could re seed the lawn areas next spring to hide most of the damage done. As the saying goes it’s going to get a lot worse, before it gets any better…. Bite the bullet and have the grounds look like a bomb site for 6 months, also it will be done well mummy is away lol

Anonymous

can we just please buy Davy all the soil he needs!

Anonymous

Yeah Tragically Hip

Anonymous

I am happy that the English show is now called Chateau DIY

Anonymous

I love Davies intense chill, while an oxymoron, its sooo so true!

Anonymous

Me too. I stopped watching it because it mainly surrounded one chateau apparently I need to catch up, dont want to miss any episodes of Lalande!! 💛

Anonymous

The chandelier is stunning! 🤩

Anonymous

New targets are coming? Please?

Anonymous

Thank you so much Stephanie for this footage. So many good things happening now at LaLande. That meal looked delicious and this weekend we are off out for lunch, it has been too long. Love to all the La Landers and love from the Dordogne xx

Anonymous

I would love to see what is happening in the garden. What’s growing now???

Anonymous

…..but we did not see the morano chandelier at all…. Not that big after all… one could easily walk under the pink pineapple… Great purchase but unfortunately had really been looking forward to see it at ‘ home’

Anonymous

I think Davy's plans are very exciting. Are there old maps of the garden he's restoring them to, or is this a modern installation? When may we know deadlines and itemized costs from Davy on the restoration of the lake and the restoration of that ancient part of the chateau wall Michael Potts was talking about?

Anonymous

Thank you. This post touches on several projects that are incomplete with no updates or reasons for not completing them. Hurrah for the shutter dogs! That has been at least a year. And for the successful suppression of the box caterpillars. How is the stable ceiling? Does resolving the electrical in the china pantry rely on Davey, on the architect, on Ian the builder? Where is the insulated wall on someone's priority list? Is the bathroom waiting on the pantry electrical decision? Is it waiting the the electrical installation? Will the electrical installation wait for the return of Ian the electricIan? It was nice to hear longer term garden plans to which Davey would accede. Sounds like the amphitheater is making the cut. And the terrace extension. Thanks again for a little insight into your plans.

Anonymous

Lots of soil would come from the pool ;)

Anonymous

Moat maintenance has not been discussed, other than the coping. I am guessing that it has accumulated a lot of matter on the bottom. This could be a rich source of humus for the parterre, with the side benefit of cleaning up the moat. The pecherie would also be a rich source of humus, if plans there include making it deeper (trying to tie current depth information to the inlet and outlet information from the ground survey).

Heidi Panella

Loved all the things going on in this one. So excited for you to reach the $31,000 milestone!! Bravo you deserve it👏👏👏. I'm wondering why we don't see much of Selmar these days... hope all is well with him. Thanks for the extra footage, always great stuff🤩

Anonymous

Invest in soil if needed. Your gardens will thank you.

Anonymous

would salt work on the fountain?

Anonymous

Taupe could be another good neutral color option for the paneling in your bedroom.

Kimberly Dale

The chandelier is beautiful...all cleaned and sparkling...love the fancy reading chair too...for your fountain have you looked into Koi-pond water purifiers...? We had a Koi-pond and used to get green Alge & there's a solution to clean it up....safe for fish & pets, other animals ...but it cleans up the pond scum...just a thought 💛

Anonymous

Please keep showing us the extra filming.

Anonymous

How is Steve and his wife's hunt for a chateau going?

Anonymous

Think you might see more on tomorrow night's video, Stephanie mentioned the man coming from Sarlat to deliver the purchases.

Anonymous

Thank you much, Stephanie! When you bought the little pink divan I thought it would be sweet at the end of your bed. What do you think?

Anonymous

Hope that this does not come across as rude. The spinny scene change thingy that you use triggers a vestibular reaction. I don't know if I'm the only one but would you consider not using that to change scenes in the future?

Terrie Powell

Congratulations on the milestone!! That chandelier is magnificent!!!!❤️❤️❤️

Anonymous

All they have to remember is the caterpillars will be back next year probably, it will be a yearly thing for sometime

Anonymous

Also the moat walls need a good clear out! Before the plants damage the side walls and then they will need repairs… A few euros spent doing that now will save thousands later

Anonymous

Yes!!! Who doesn’t love - “two-fifty for an eyeball, and a buck and a half for an ear -….happy hour is heeeerrrre”;)

Anonymous

Merci beaucoup! I so enjoyed the visit today! More joy happening each week! Keep up the good work! A bientot!

Anonymous

Love the chandelier! So many projects!

Anonymous

Oh Stephanie!! Such an awesome video. So many stories in one video. So exciting

Anonymous

Enjoyed the extra footage. It had a bit of everything. That chandelier is devine. I hope Steve and Sarah’s chateau hunt is going well. It would be great to see what chateau’s they have looked at.

Anonymous

Sarah - you should have gone with Blue Rodeo! That would have worked ;)

Anonymous

Hmm...where will the sheep go? Maybe in the other field that's across from Lalande, that is maybe being rented out if I recollect? The sheep are all very idyllic to look at, and Aloyicious is famous now of course, so his fans could see him more ;)

Daniel Hammond

Even after WWII, a lot of people were walking all over Europe to get home. Stephanie, if you read this, could you consider doing a vlog at Georges Sand's chateau? I feel very strongly that she is unfairly neglected these days. Not the greatest of writers, perhaps, but her importance in the evolution and development of women's rights can scarcely be overstated. Without George Sand, we cannot know what would have happened. Her life mattered hugely for later women, even if her actual body of work was less important. Thank you for the video.

Anonymous

Every video you do brings joy and happiness to us. I need this very much and thank you Stephanie and all the La Lander's for being so generous sharing your time and life to us. GOD BLESS you always...Love from Tel Aviv, Israel

Anonymous

Davey is so sweet and polite and Matt is so blunt and abrupt haha

Anonymous

The perfume smelt fabulous when I opened the envelope. Could someone please tell me the name of the perfume?

Anonymous

great vlog Stephanie and Phillip- you both are so delightful but so is everyone

Anonymous

ahhhh, wish you had turned the chandelier on or is the Electric not hooked up to it yet? Would love to see it on a night

Anonymous

Been thinking about the fountain and the algae problem….. There are plenty of koi/pond water filter treatment pumps that can be bought, but a possible better answer are the liquid treatments which are environmentally safe and come with being maintenance free. Just a regular treatment and a lot are barley based so can’t be over used…

Kim Magee

Loving these videos Stephanie! I can’t wait to see Davy’s garden plans unfold 🪴

Anonymous

Oh the extra footage is so great! Just what I needed after a stressful week. Thank you so much.

Anonymous

Stephanie...questions re the landscaping plan...are you still planning a portico or covered area in the garden? Also are you still thinking of an orangerie next to the kitchen? Both would be amazing additions! I love everything that you’re doing!!!!❤️

Anonymous

So excited about the gardens…. Just a suggestion for finding clean dirt for fill. When we built our home we needed over 400 loads of clean dirt and got it all for free with the exception of excavation cost by working with other builders in the area. We got lucky that the local school was being added to and they needed a place to put 1000’s of loads of dirt. We received the dirt for free and the school builder did not have to pay per load to bring it to a full site. Check with your local government agency to see if any permits for construction have been pulled and contact the village inspector or builder. Win win for both on cost and get the dirt from a local area. Just a suggestion.

Anonymous

I loved this vlog week! So much joy and the excitement was palatable (like that meal Kat made-YUM!) Philip, your hair looked great! a few more weeks of growth it will be perfect! I watched a previous vlog prior to the cut, I couldn't believe how long it was!

Anonymous

Also, the chandelier in Stephanie's office space couldn't be more perfect - TAKE THAT WALL DOWN!

Anonymous

It's so lovely, Stephanie, that you bring all us Patreons along on your plans because we can follow the plans see everything to fruition! It's all just SO exciting and if it's exciting to us....I can only imagine YOUR excitement level! :) Teresa (Nashville, TN)

Brenda Mcgee

Loved this vlog of extra footage such a treat Stephanie you continue to open up the beauty around you to share with us the visit to Castle ten Berghe such lovely hosts all the wonderful plans for Lalande such a joy to see Phillip always busy so articulate easy going creative soul ❤️😍😘My Heart is full Thankyou Stephanie❤️😍😘😘👏👏

Anonymous

This was an amazing selection of extra footage. I love seeing the process of thinking through the next steps. Davey is a master of that! I cannot wait to return to Bruges to stay at Castle ten Berghe. It is magnificent!

Anonymous

I could watch these vlogs all day long! Stephanie, please ask one of the volunteers to remove that horrid bubble gum pink border for you…ASAP! It’s easier to imagine other paint colours when it is out of sight. I love the purchases you made and now finally delivered. That chandelier? Gorgeous. Thank you for this extra footage.

Georgette Jones

I am so happy that I am a patron ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❣️

Denise Behrends

I am especially enjoying the unfolding of your boudoir and bedroom design.

Anonymous

At some point there was talk of dredging the lake. Could that be a source of soil? About algae - barley straw prevents algae. People put it in a floating plastic ball or colored netting so that the straw is not visible.

Anonymous

I really like this video. I got to see parts of chateau that are not normally shown. Maybe I just don't pay attention. Metal netting can keep the birds away and ventilation won't be interrupted. The thought of being able to visit and hang out with all of the Patreons sounds fun. All 3,376 of them as of this comment!! We'll need parking! :)

Anonymous

I was thinking that the bubble gum border is throwing the creative process off. :)

Anonymous

You're not gonna get a lot of anything but crap fill when they go to dredge that lake. They used a lot of rock and anything that would fill in. They could not even get enough good soil out of the lake area to go in the flower beds. Dig deep enough and you might run into junk cars and old fridges lol Let's hope not but I doubt your gonna find any rich soil there

Anonymous

"The thought of being able to visit and hang out with all of the Patreons sounds fun. All 3,376 of them as of this comment!! We'll need parking! :)" That honestly sounds scary to me. To many crazy people in this world

Anonymous

Maybe start digging out the swimming pool now? That will provide at least some soil to raise the parterre!

Anonymous

I am desperate for the GREAT Sundays at the chateau we used to get. The kind that went deeply I to the history- the porcelain one, the fabrics ones - I miss those desperately. While I really like chateau tours, I want in depth lessons on the history of the area, the chateau, not just a chat with the owner. I hope this is well received, I love the channel but lately it's felt like quantity over quality. 😒

Anonymous

I totally disagree ! Love anything chateau and love seeing all the tours of these beautiful places 💕

Anonymous

Ok - but I miss the other - sooo agree to disagree- I love her old school Sundays at the chateau- there are only so many hours one can watch people chatting, laughing and unboxing - regardless of geography. I miss the times when it felt like the best history/gossip/lifestyle shows. There are Sooooo many people on social media doing "hey watch me and my friends in glamorous locations" and as the world gets back to life - I would like to stay watching. Just trying to give feedback so she can keep her audience. Audience retention is important-just trying to help point out what made her OUTSTANDING - not just average - with a gorgeous chateau as a backdrop. I've been watching since almost the beginning- patreon I think since the 1st month? I'm a fan, just not a blind one (no offense) I just want there to be able to keep this going for as long as possible. 🤞

Anonymous

I so agree Shannon. You’ve hit the nail on the head. I too am a fan and started the second or third month of Patreon. I also miss the more in depth project overviews/updates and goals.

Anonymous

Thank you so much! I don't think it's being disloyal to say- hey, this is really what made you stand apart- I miss those vlogs and I so wish they would come back! I would much rather see one video a week and just have it be that kind of "old school video"...😁

Anonymous

I've watched since I think March 20. Happy with the changing subjects needed to keep it fresh. Hope Spode make the design!

Anonymous

I like a mixture of the Sunday vlogs-- maybe a more in depth one every couple of months or something? I know you can't do this on a weekly basis. Another question-- has the entrance hall been featured on ETTC DIY yet and did you do a behind the scenes show on that? I think I've watched all the vlogs but it is possible I missed one (and I live in the US so we don't have access to the show except through youtube vids)! Anyway, it seems like there are 4-5 secret projects that we haven't been able to see yet. While I certainly understand why, is there any estimate of when we might be able to see them? It seems like it's been a year for some of them!

Anonymous

Same for us in Australia! Would love to see more than glimpses

Anonymous

Great video - loved all the extra footage - thank you! If/when you are out it in the garden filming again would love to see how your mother's rose clippings that she started last year are doing.

Anonymous

The new lighting is beautiful!

Anonymous

OMG !!!! 5:32 Isabel eating the banana makes the same gestures as Sthepanie :)

Anonymous

Thanks for sharing the extra footage! The chandelier seems very Lalande :)

Anonymous

If you take the wall down, what will become of your dressing room? Where will you move your clothes to? 💛💛💛💛💛

Anonymous

We love the Chandelier!!

Anna Timm

I received my patron card in early May, I think it was, and the perfume scent lasted in my room for a couple of weeks! So regardless of whether it was in his batch, thank you very much to Antoine for working to add that special touch. Of course the photo is lovely and the card paper is nice to display, but bringing in another sense definitely added something more that I was able to really enjoy (especially while I do some DIY in my own bedroom to improve the look and feel in there!

Anonymous

I check all the time for mine and when I heard Antoine was working on some I had my fingers crossed. Not yet though. It will be so exciting when I do see it in the mailbox!!

Anonymous

I love these kind of videos where we get to see the design process and thinking behind the decisions being made.
