This is the website where I purchased Cristal D'Arques replacement pieces for my parents, and it looks like they have the line you have: https://www.replacements.com/crystal-cristal-darques-durand-longchamp-clear/c/17297. Not sure about their shipping to France though!

Anonymous

The coupe glasses you can also use for fruit cup or a dessert.

Anonymous

The smaller lidded dish might be a 'hair receiver."

Anonymous

So did Davy bring a moving truck when he came to LaLande this time?!? So fun to see all the new items and can't wait to see how you all use them in future!

Anonymous

What beautiful gifts from Davy’s family! I do hope you’ll be interviewing Davy soon- the more I see of him, the more interesting I find him and would love to know more about him.

Anonymous

You need a wood cabinet - perhaps your Italian painted style ones for the bath bowl and pitcher etc. Sturdy looking but no over bearing.

Anonymous

That is incredible! So many great pieces! My mother inherited wedding china from her mother, grandmother, great-grandmother... along with the wedding china of my father's mother, grandmothers (both sides), and great grandmothers! Luckily they had large cabinets to hold it all. When they passed we gave most away to family and friends. The only china we sold was the Flora Danica (I kept a few pieces of the Flora Danica for myself!) A designer friend suggested going to auction sites to buy china and just mix and match. He throws amazing dinner parties and the sets of china are never the same. You lucked out in the most fortunate way: you have so many sets to play with!

Really enjoyed seeing such special treasures ❣️

Anonymous

Poor Marie! She really didn’t quite know what to make of the “gift” initially! 😆

Anonymous

Phenomenal gifts from Davy & family! May your parents enjoy this new chapter of their lives and many thanks to them for thinking of Lalande. Perhaps Lalanders will travel to your country one day for some history/travel blogs and we can meet them. :)

Anonymous

Such beautiful treasures. Very special and much loved they will be really appreciated at the chateau

Anonymous

This has made me realize that we need to use my Grandmother's china more often. It's no longer just for Christmas and Thanksgiving.

Anonymous

What wonderful gifts from Davy’s mum! I love everything. (Except the flowers!). You could always make a floral arrangement for the chamber pot or fill it with ice & a bottle of bubbly!

Anonymous

The chamber pot should live under the bed in the room. That's where I keep the antique one I bought. :D

Anonymous

commode sets are for bedrooms NOT bathrooms placing it in a bathroom is defeating its purpose It was the bathroom.

Anonymous

I think the chamber pot could be useful for someone with a sore tummy...

Anonymous

Perhaps you should consider using the chamber pot as a planter. That's what I've done with my grand mother's + it looks great! Not sure if she would approve though!🤣🤣

Anonymous

I have paper guest hand towels I put out in my bathrooms when we have a party, so they don't use the bath towels, which I'll have to wash. Everyone thinks it's a waste to use the linen felling hand towels... so they use the bath towels. My fear would be someone would actually use it! :-D

Anonymous

The China with the gold band makes me think of an important China pattern by Lenox called Eternity

Anonymous

I love the toiletry set! It’s beautiful. Is there a mirror it might go under? Back in the day, there were stands that held the pitcher and basin. Lovel bent iron ones. Sigh. When I downsized I had to do the same thing.

Anonymous

what you call the second champagne glass is something Americans would use for a dessert - a small trifle ,or pudding.

Anonymous

Davy's mom needs a really wonderful thank you card for all of the precious gifts she gave you. I have my mother's China from the 1940s. It's beautiful but my family doesn't want us to use it because it needs hand washing. I'm going to surprise them this year at Christmas so. I think I'll also bring out her silver. Tee, hee .......

Anonymous

Good Lord, more stuff for the china cabinet. I hope there will be enough room if it ever gets finished. Has the downstairs loo been finished yet? What's the holdup now?

Anonymous

Lovely vlog!! Thank you!!

Anonymous

Marie was trying to be such a sport about those fake flowers, so silly of you all. Also I love all the pieces and especially the china with the gold rim. Looks lovely with the piece you paired with them. 🖤

Anonymous

I wish my Mother was alive to see this. She would have enjoyed all the surprises from Davey. Dish collecting was her hobby which I didn’t really understand until she was gone.

Anonymous

Love it! Longchamps by Cristal d'Arques is our crystal. We do NOT have the coupes de champagne unfortunately. We DO have the butter dish, the water pitcher (jug), ice bucket, etc. We have bought it for our home over a period of about 30 years. Love it! Now I will have to look for the coupes de champagne! (and i am sure there are other things in the line that we do not have.)

My great aunt had chamber pots in upper floor bedrooms, as the only toilet was on the ground floor. I recall bringing it down very early one morning when I was about 8 years old with the goal of not sharing my walk of shame with the family. I dropped it on the stairs and woke everyone in the house. Such a mess.

Anonymous

After Great Aunt died, one of her china chamber pots made it to my oldest brother's house. Went for Christmas dinner and found my sister-in-law was serving soup from it, not realizing it wasn't a tureen. Needless to say, few people tried the soup.

Anonymous

That was fun!

Anonymous

I think chamber pots are best stored under the bed. Then they are within reach when needed during the night. I used to use one up at the cottage rather than trapse out to the outhouse in the cold, cold winter. I set it up on a small low table before retiring for the night.

Anonymous

The eggs are screaming Marquis’ apartment to me. A just a thought.

Terrie Powell

What a beautiful and generous gift from Davy and his family!!

Anonymous

You can use the chamber pot as a planter pot

Anonymous

Marie's face at the end...a picture!

Anonymous

I am feeling terrified about that huge, heavy ewer and bowl set being on that rickety green metal table. Trying not to panic. Eeeeeeee! Loved this video except for that bit! :-D

Davy ❤️

Anonymous

So many beautiful things! Davie's family has wonderful taste. I wish his parents well in their new home. Davie must come back to Lalande soon. He's such a joy to have around. The flowers you brought to Marie, and her reaction, priceless! <3 <3 <3

Anonymous

Who was teasing Phillip in Cadeau for his fastidiousness in hand washing everything? That may come in handy now😉

Anonymous

Would loved to have seen close ups of the eggs!

Anonymous

What a nice video with all the lovely things from Davy’s family! And the way the China paired with your existing plates….WOW!!!

I have my great grandmother’s (born in 1841) set of china chamber pot, pitcher and bowl set. They are a gorgeous blue gray. I had it on a woman’s dressing chest as it sat in her home, in my guest bathroom. It’s similar to a man’s only fancier. Some of my friends have even used it’s hair pin round lidded bowl for ponytail and small scarves used in their hair. Our water was out while my grandson was here on a visit and we bathed him in the big bowl. It’s in storage now with my entire home since I moved from my ridiculous sized house and move to the lake house. But we love it and talk about it still. My grandson wants it dice he got to bathe in it. He’s 21🥰

Anonymous

Chamber pots are for under the bed. My grandparents had a house with one toilet attached to the back kitchen (with no heating 🥶). So the chamber pots were in nightly use.

Anonymous

Such a treasure Davy brought you, all so beautiful! I have an older set of crystal and I use the champagne glasses for serving dessert....fruit, ice cream, custard, etc. It is always a hit with my company.

Anonymous

I had to laugh when the champagne flute was unwrapped. I have the same crystal! I collected it many years ago. A company was going out of business that carried the Longchamp crystal ware. I purchased "must haves" at 20% off. Not many interested in it and when it got to 50% and better I went a bit nuts. I never saw the one low champagne glass though. I have service for 12 in the champagne, water goblet, red wine, white wine, high ball and iced tea. Plus some low ball, cordial and my favorite the cute shot glasses. At the sale I also scored 2 water pitchers, salt and pepper shakers, sugar bowl and creamer. Unfortunately I don't host the big dinners any more and most just collect dust in the cupboard. Funny story (not so funny to my partner).... when we came home from purchasing the tall champagne flutes, half price, I thought I'd be funny and sang the "circus tune" Entry Of The Gladiators and went to juggle the flutes... yep one hit the floor and shattered...opps!

Anonymous

The look on Marie’s face was priceless 😂

Julia Cobb

I used my chamber pot as a soap holder. Bought bath bombs, and all kinds of pretty good smelling soap to in it. Bought and old 18th century chamber pot cupboard and put it on the top. Same bathroom by toilet.

Anonymous

What lovely crystal and porcelain. What a kind person Marie is she obviously didn't like the fake flowers but kindly accepted them from Davey so as not to hurt his feelings. You are a lovely person Marie.

Anonymous

Stephanie such a beautiful blog, thanks to you, Philip and Davey for a wonderful afternoon.

Anonymous

Davey is a darling, so well mannered and gentle. The world needs more like him.

Anonymous

Great set and the dishes are perfect! Love the jug and wash basin and set! I remember my grandparent's s home in Scotland chamber pots under the beds! 🤗❤️

Anonymous

Since that is a bed and breakfast room you can fill chamber pot with bathroom essentials for the guests mini bottle shampoo, soap etc. beautiful set

Anonymous

All of these goodies will have a new home at Lalande! I love the white with gold trim dishes, and the crystal, and the..... I can see they will all be well loved! I hope Davy will return soon, he is a joy. :)

Anonymous

Somehow, the angular coffee pot of that beautiful set of china reminds me of your father's paintings, Stephanie. It looks like just the sort of thing those nude tennis players would use-- once they finished their game, got dressed and settled down for an afternoon snack! These are all such beautiful and generous gifts and Davey is wonderful. I can't wait until he can come back.

Anonymous

Very generous Davey He has such a lovely demeanour and comes across as a gentle soul It would have been nice to see a close up of the decorative eggs

Anonymous

Oh, poor Marie. I thought she might cry. LOL The dishes, crystal and bath porcelain are just beautiful. How special that they found their way to Lalande from Davey's home.

Anonymous

An amazing gift!

Anonymous

lovely vlog Stephanie and Phillip. such generosity - I loved it all

Anonymous

My husband and I received the Longchamps champagne flutes and wine glasses as wedding presents. We will be celebrating our 40th anniversary next month! 👰‍♀️ 🤵‍♂️

Anonymous

You should put a toilet roll holder (stand) inside the chamber pot and put it next to the toilet. A slightly nicer way to store spare TP

Anonymous

What an absolutely lovely vlog……Davey is such a genuine gentle person and his parents very generous.

Anonymous

The gifts from Daveys parents are beautiful and the generosity was so thoughtful the dinner set is beautiful the water jug and stand goes really well in that bathroom and the crystal glass are superb

Carrie Miller

Regarding the chamber pot: this is a little inelegant, but please bear with me. My oldest sister (exactly Stephanie's age) suffered from crippling migraines in her teenage years. As a result, in her room next to her bed there was always an often-washed large Tupperware bowl which we referred to as the (forgive me) "throw up bowl". This bowl would transfer to other members of the family for stomach flu or other malady. I think the chamber pot would be perfectly suited to such use, and it would be medicine in itself just to have something so beautiful to look at when feeling your worst.

Anonymous

Ohhh that was fun and I burst out laughing at Marie’s reaction to those flowers 😂😂😂

Anonymous

The different sized bowls can be used when the three bears come for their porridge. I'm not into porcelain, but I do like black and gold together and Chinoiserie in general, so those ones are my favourites at Lalande, I think.

Anonymous

Great fun and very fine stuff from Davy’ family but 😵‍💫😵‍💫…….oh, poor Marie ! That look on her face.😂😂😂

Anonymous

I think it is about deciding if there is a radiator in ther China pantry and if there is the pipes may have to come through the loo This I viously needs to be done first before Selmar finishes boarding the wall and before Stephanie papers

Anonymous

Marie's quiet shock and disapproval 😶😶😶! So polite and hilarious!!!

Anonymous

I loved Davy sitting with long legs on that sweet little chair. Beautiful gifts 😍

Anonymous

Since there really isn't a need for "chamber pots" these days lol. It would still look beautiful with some succulents planted in it. They require little water and should get the right amount of bright, but not direct light in that bathroom. Which would allow it to still be displayed. And perhaps some beautiful dried flowers arranged in the pitcher.

Anonymous

Davy’s China looks perfect with the black charger plates. The tall washer water pitcher and the chamber pot can be used as flower pots…. Or, the washer set can be used for guests foot soaking after long day of sightseeing….just need bath salts etc.

Anonymous

Such generosity from Davy’s mother. It is sad that nobody from the family wanted these beautiful items.

Laura & Jack

So generous! Loved those plain gold-rimmed plates. They will come in handy with all sorts of other accent dishes!!

Tina Winther

What an amazing cache of bonus gifts! My mother’s fine china was similar Bavaria but an earlier model. I didn’t care for it much growing up, but my heart has softened to embracing the beauty of a multiplicity of serving options since last year (imagine that 😉😆) love the idea of setting for 13 with an open spot for Henri…as well. Now I need more cabinets AND a storage space for off season clothes and decor- no more shame- own it and organize for enjoyment!

Anonymous

I love the charger plates with those gold rimmed dishes -- that's divine. Maybe you can get a close match to fill out a set of twelve. I wouldn't put that washstand set in the bathroom! One slip of even a hand getting out of the tub and it's finished. They were usually placed in the bedroom which likely had a wood or carpeted floor.

Kimberly Dale

Beautiful...the black dishes look sooo beautiful, perfect with the gold trimmed ones... And Marie could put a floral arrangement in the pretty chamber pot... She mentioned wanting jugs for floral arranging while at Annas...😘

Denise Behrends

There’s just something so soothing and sentimental about this that felt quite special for you to share with us.

Anonymous

Davy such exquisite gift/purchases from your parents! Thank you for undertaking the trip down with your special cargo! Stephanie deserves all of these items selected by your parents & Stephanie to enhance Lalonde! You are such a generous spirit 😊

Daniel Hammond

I loved Marie's reaction to your gift! Thank you for the video!

Anonymous

Poor Marie! 🤣

Anonymous

So funny Marie’s reaction at the end!🤣

Anonymous

Summer Kitchen? I don't think you should wait that long to use them, am I wrong or wouldn't they be perfect in the handsome Mr Potts quarters. As for the gold-rimmed set, it would also be nice for B&B guest's breakfasts it's bright & chic and a little extra. Have a wonderful week.

Anonymous

The chamber pot could hold the extra roll of loo paper. Or, my mother used one to hold magazines in the bathroom, so I’m used to seeing that. Though I’m not sure I realized its original purpose as I grew up!

Sissi Duparc

This set of "Cristal d'Arques" remind me of many family's moments. And I finally found who Stéphanie remind me of : She could be the little sister of the french singer "Véronique Sanson" in the 70's . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJ-7qMonE7E

Anonymous

After sleeping on it, I decided that the use for such large bowls must be to serve pho. I was needing one recently. I always end up using my large Pyrex bowls. I have vague memories of using chamber pots as a child when visiting grand pa in Guatemala. No one wanted to go to the outhouse at night, no thanks. The darkness, the insects, the ghosts. NO.

Anonymous

The proper place of the chamber pot is under the bed. It also needs to be covered with a special embroidered textile. ;)

Anonymous

No one uses Chamber Pots anymore so why hide history under a bed where no one will see it? I don't get that. Not like it was peed in yesterday lol

Anonymous

I have the same crystal!!

Leah Hamdaoui

What lovely dinner service from Davy's parents and the crystal will sparkle in the candle light !!! Such kindness and generosity on your part Stephanie activates and inspires it in others XXX

Anonymous

Love the crystal, my parents had the same thou only two or three wine glasses remain. The wedding china is amazingly lovely and with the chargers … wow. couldn’t you use the chamber pot as a cache pot, put a plant in it. It’s far too lovely for under the sink. so fun thank you

Anonymous

I'm pretty certain the dinner service is exactly the same one my parents have and my mother didn't want in either, because it looks almost the same as my grandmother's. She always wanted the Villeroy Boch Vieux Luxembourg set.

Anonymous

Beautiful! You can put rolled up magazines in chamber pot and set it by toilet :)

Kim A Crosbie

I love the mirror next to bathtub!
