I just joined your Patreon and want to thank you for all the entertainments. You give so much to this platform. Its such an easy decision to support to you .

Laura & Jack

Agreed. A lot of us are more concerned than clambering for new content. For me personally, I’d be happy to receive a short typed message of greeting and a photo. Easy peasy. Take care of yourself! XO from Canada.

Anonymous

Get well soon, big hugs from Australia

Anonymous

I hope is nothing serious, get well soon!

Anonymous

Working? I thought the idea of the trip was rest? 🥰 Thank you for this.

Anonymous

Bonjour Stephanie. Très heureuse de savoir que tu vas mieux. Continue de te reposer et prends soins de toi. Xox

Anonymous

How fun to see and hear the possibilities! Pray tell, what has Semar been up to, how is the powder room coming along?

Anonymous

The architect seems like such an amazing lady with so many exciting ideas. Take care and make sure to get plenty of rest. Much love from Denmark

Anonymous

Thank you for this, Steph! I certainly hope Phillip did most of the editing because I seem to recall that you were not to be working whilst in that idyllic retreat??? Just a little reminder in case you forgot!! ;-) Lots of love xoxoxox

I think, Stephanie, it is your amazing, beautiful and generous soul that attracts the most amazing people to help you restore the chateau. From the architect , Selmar, Davey, the Ians, Dan and more! I am always amazed how you seem to always connect to and attract the people that can help you in your quest.

Anonymous

Wonderful Stephanie. Love all this architect speak. So so interesting and exciting. Things are really moving at a great pace. Loved your peaceful retreat to- just the thing for recovery. Ha - and you always manage to film!

Anonymous

The Dordogne is beautiful, as is the area of your chateau. Loved the footage and look forward to tomorrow. Stay well and enjoy your time there.🌺🌼🌸🌷💗

Stephanie - You have amassed such an amazing team. The Architect is lovely and very in tune with the Chateau, Davey's vision is amazing and his planning ideas are right on. And the construction and Chateau management team are worth their weight in gold. Relax and dream - the Chateau is in good hands until your return.

Hi Stephanie,

Anonymous

🥰Take a nice LONG rest dear Stephanie!🥰 You will need all your strength, energy, and ideas for planning your private apartments, the MOST important area of the chateau!!💕💕💕 (This architect has a-lot of great connections for you😍)

Anonymous

Wonderful vlog...thank you so much, so interesting but please take care dear girl xx

Anonymous

Your architect is fantastic! I love that she's thinking of interesting and unusual solutions. Maybe Dan could use his drone to see if there's a bell in the little folly tower. Have you considered asking him to tackle the chateau rendering after he re-renders his own cottage? It would be a huge job and he might prefer to stay in the garden, but nobody puts more care, hard graft and attention into their work than Dan.

Anonymous

Stephanie- is this a new architect than the one you had before or the same office?

Anonymous

You put so much of yourself into the vlogs and your patreon page Stephanie, nobody does it better that is why you are so successful. You give us so much information here ,thank you. Take care to rest mentally as well as physically. The architect is fabulous, great ideas.

Anonymous

Interesting that the architect has worked at Nohant and that the carpenter is as near as Crevant. Looking forward to further developments. By the way, Stephanie, I looked at the de Gournay website today. Their wallpapers are gorgeous. I think Magical Menagerie is my favourite; African wildlife with random penguins.

Anonymous

Thank you for offering us this extra footage! When the architect suggested a mirror to symbolize the old moat I got goose bumps. Imagine that kind of promenade in your new garden planning. What an art institution!! Wishing you as well as possible as soon as possible.

Anonymous

Ohhh I loved this Stephanie ❤️❤️❤️

Anonymous

Hi, darling Stephanie (Philip, too). As a Mamma I'm sure Isabelle is happy to see you 'getting away from it all'...almost!!! Always exciting news with each Patreon Vlog. It's especially good to know you are relaxing to gain your strength 100% so you can spring into the joys of magically reshaping LaLande from her delightful footprint of water, walls and wonder. We love you. Rest easy and enjoy as you always do. C xx

Beautiful vlog and so many mysteries and creative solutions. Take care of yourself, dear Stéphanie, and make the most of your time in recuperation xox

years ago I lived around the corner of the then very small de Gourney shop in Chelsea. °everytime I passed and saw those lovely silk coverings I knew I had to use those in an other house if I moved. And 12 years later I used the Green based design in a dining room. It was a stunning look. Silk onnthevwalls. Never tired of it. I am so pleased to see that they have now these patterns in wallpaper. You will wake up in the mornings feeling very uplifted. I am also happy to hear that you now visit brocades rather only eminuis. As you say, much more chateau like. I have over the year forwarded you many times interesting information from Instagram , tablesettings , chicken dens, garden ideas. Etc. Do you ever look at those ? 😘🤔🤔

Anonymous

Wow! So many exciting new things going on! I have quite a bit of project management in my background and it feels like there’s almost too much going on. I hope you have assistance in those duties. I remember you said Davy was helping. But this is a lot! I was curious about some of the earlier ones. I know the loo was still in process as well as the terrace and the China pantry and was wondering about the status of those projects. This is so much to be responsible for I hope you be able to rest and recover, but thank you for such a great video showing us everything. Everyone is worried about you so please take good care of yourself.

I love the history behind the window being a little💎 gem... & letting it be... showcasing it’s antiquity... R&R... =‘s

Anonymous

Stephanie, this is all incredibly exciting! Davy and the garden plan, cleaning up the forest, the plans and activity to reinstate the lake, cleaning out all the extra rooms and organizing the attics, adding insulation and double glazed windows, getting all areas organized, creating a proper apartment for you, and finally beginning the outside architectural plans to bring the original overall historical beauty & symmetry of windows and doors back to the chateau is extraordinary! 🤗❤️ It’s been so difficult to “wait” while isolating due to COVID and now to finally see so much activity...I am so excited for Lalande and for you... you must be walking in the clouds. ☁️☀️🌈 Now, I love that you can begin looking at beautiful, quality period antiques, and lighting etc. and finding historically accurate items that will bring the historical chateau lifestyle to the present. ⭐️⭐️With this in mind, I have a request or suggestion for your other Patrons. Your subscribers and patrons are incredibly gracious and giving. Cadeaux at the Chateau is a wonderful opportunity to fund an art student. Now, I think it would be wonderful if the gifts that people send you were items that you are particularly needing for your renovation efforts. Perhaps you can create a list of items (lol similar to an Amazon Wish list) that you are seeking and literally your patrons all over the world can search for these items and give, donate, etc to Lalande. Personally, I would love the idea that I provided something specifically needed for Lalande’s renovation. I’d like to know I personally made a specific difference in preserving history. Perhaps you can poll your patrons on their interest in this idea? Sorry for long post. Please get well soon. All the best, Joanne Morton (aka AvidHistory) I just upgrade to Dauphine tier! 🎊🤗

REST & RELAXATION we’ll be here... Xoxo 😊💜🕊🙏🥰✝️💛

Anonymous

Good evening Stephanie, as usual your vlog is great but please take it easy and enjoy the quiet . Your body is telling you to sit down and rest. I’m sure we will survive not seeing a few vlogs just to know you are safe. I’ll stop being a Mammy now🤐 🥰

Anonymous

From Kerry Lynn from Central Canada 🇨🇦 —-Do take good care of yourself! I LOVED this extra footage! You touched on a variety of things, Stephanie. And I enjoy seeing the projects move along at their own pace! Such beautiful countryside!

Anonymous

We also got a bit of a preview of the remodeled entrance hall.

Jodi and Scott Barck

Very sorry Nati for your loss. Nancy is the perfect name

Anonymous

Amazing video, hope you are taking it easy! Off topic but i rewatched the video with the cellar recently, perhaps putting up a bannister on the steps so it is safer for anyone going down there- sure Selma would be up to the task when free! But I’m sure there are 30000000 little jobs to be done! X

Anonymous

I really enjoy these deep dives into your conversations with the architect, Davey, and Ian. You’ve assembled an amazing team to realize your vision for the chateau. Thank you so much for including us on your journey. And thanks to Phillip, Nati, Marie, and everyone for looking after you! It’s wonderful to see you feeling better! 🌸

Anonymous

Phillip is the sheep whisperer lol adorable x

Anonymous

Maybe swap the window with many panes to the other side when you build new spot over the entrance?

Anonymous

Your conversation with the architect is fascinating. I love her light spirit and the way she comes up with possibilities.

Anonymous

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this episode. All of the little bits and pieces and all interesting. I adore your architect, what an amazing lady! So many ideas and so very very helpful! Please tell her thank you from all of us !! Take care my friend, rest as much as you can. It is so important as we all love your friendship and you so very much!

My favorite room in all of the chateau is the boudoir! What a beautiful room ! full of light and I just feel serenity when I look at it ! It will be so beautiful. Can't wait to see it done !

Anonymous

How lovely to convalesce there.....you have so much going on it will be good to be in touch..but from a distance. I agree with others ...yet another lovely person joins your team ...the Architect! Even the COVID test nurse likes coming to La Lande too!😂 Try & relax 😘

Anonymous

In a corridor somewhere you could frame all the pieces of wallpaper from all over the chateau in odd frames. I remember seeing a young vlogger doing this in his chateau using all William Morris wallpapers. Even you not so old wallpapers.xoxox

When I went to the UK recently they asked for a covid test in order to come back. I paid 150 pounds for the same free NHS test that I had already done before seeing my mum as I needed the passport number on the test, only difference ! On my way back no one asked me for the test, I was so annoyed!

Thank you for this extra footage!

hi stephanie, glad you're feeling better and you've had a nice trip and a few days of rest. i very much like the architect, she has a lot of great ideas and she seems to know her stuff very well, i'm glad you're taking her advice! once she has the old plans of the chateau scanned, it would be great if you could show them on patreon! i must admit, it's a bit hard for me to keep up with all the projects you have started in the last few months and i'm wondering how you do it? doesn't it frustrate you to know there is so much going on at the same time and yet there are still so many "old" projects to be finished? what is happening with the downstairs loo, is it ready? has the floor issue been solved? and the remodelling of the petit salon? and the remodelling of the winter salon? and the chapel restauration? and the terrace restauration? i would be so worried if the money is enough to finish all these projects, i couldn't start another one. like, just adding internal shutters to the old wing must be a project in the tens of thousands, i'm guessing? if the lake needs a new layer of clay, how much would that be? but you're a big girl and i'm sure you have a plan! speaking of money, has the tax exempt status for the patreon money been approved? i have been wondering for weeks! nevertheless, it's exciting to see it all happening and i hope from the bottom of my heart that all your dreams come true! also, i know phillip is your favourite and he is a very good friend to you and we see a lot of him but do you plan to take natty for one of your trips at some point? she seems to be the glue that keeps the chateau together and i think she deserves it and she could use some cheering up after her recent loss. sorry for getting into your business, it's 90% good intentions and 10% curiosity, i hope you know! :)

Anonymous

Joanne, I ABSOLUTELY agree with you! I would love to feel that I made a difference to the library. It is one of my favorite places in this world (a library) and to know that I helped with that restoration would be wonderful. Please consider this Stephanie.

Anonymous

I loved this update. I'm so excited about the exterior chateau plans. Just brilliant!!!!

Anonymous

The planning for the Chateau`s renovations is so exciting to listen to. Cannot wait to see everything when they are finished.

Anonymous

There are so many exciting things going on! I loved seeing the extra footage and hearing more of the conversation with the architect. I'm so glad you stepped away to a quiet and peaceful place to recharge. Hope you continue to feel better and take the time to rest. Have a beautiful week :)

Anonymous

The whole thing is a money making exercise I'm afraid, the test doesnt even test for the 'virus' as they havent isolated the 'virus ' and it isnt designed to diagnose.

Anonymous

Yes what a wonderful lady the architect is. You do really attract gems to La lande. Hope you are resting and drinking in all that wonderful nature around you. One of the most special things about the area La Lande is in is that it is so unspoilt and unpopulated and also that you dont have the horrible pollution of the strong mobile and internet signals. That makes it an oasis for people and nature, which is becoming more and more rare. Thank you for sharing all your plans, its all so exciting. I love seeing all the developments in the garden and your seeds germinating as I get my garden going again over here in the UK too.

Anonymous

Exciting times at LaLande! So much new growth, new changes. Stephanie, I'm so glad you're taking a rest and recuperating. Sending peaceful healing prayers your way!

Anonymous

I am sorry, but can anyone tell me who is "dugorne".. Or atleast what is the correct spelling so I can google it 😅 the blue book of interiors that stephanie has shown in last 3 videos.

Anonymous

Resting, doesn't not mean a 'work station' set up required.

Anonymous

Such a beautiful location!! 🌳

Anonymous

Love the post. The architectural issues are fascinating. Did the Covid tests occur in the redecorated entryway?? Can we see all of it soon? I know the TV show might be important for Chateau publicity, but waiting a year (or more?) to see improvements is hard. A tower remodel too?? Love The Chateau. ❤️

Anonymous

I love the architect's sense of history and her creativity - never stop brainstorming, never stop dreaming - she said both of these things. It sounds like an excellent life philosophy. What a wonderful video. Thank you!

Anonymous

Such a lovely little vlog! Thank you Stephanie for keeping us updated even while travelling and resting ^^

Anonymous

Such exciting times Stephanie, I am so very proud of you. You have become a very important part of Lalandes history 😊😊😊

Anonymous

What a great video! Thank you for extra footage and explanations. A word of advice, while I always enjoy your content, videos featuring other chateaux (to me) are the least interesting. They aren’t why I watch or support your channel. They certainly aren’t worth multiple Covid tests - poor Phillip! Don’t waste your energies rushing around to create content that gets less views. I’m sure such videos are fun to create and supports your love of travel, but your body needs rest and focus. With so much happening at home, you have lots of content options. LaLande needs you now more than ever - and so do we.

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie and friends! Keep resting, it is a very important part of the journey to wellness. The Château is so exciting! Maybe your architect can provide you with a model of the Chateau before and after as in many build projects. That way it would be like having a doll house of your own Chateau. Doesn’t it sound like fun? Sending much love and prayers! Blessings!🕊❤️🙏🐇🌹

thechateaudiaries

I’m having to set up an enormous spreadsheet to track all of the projects! There is a great deal starting, but it means that there is always activity at Lalande and progress even when projects hit delays (which inevitably happens quite often, as with the flooring in the loo, I’m hoping that will be finished soon!) Nati is usually at the chateau as her job is to manage it, whilst Philip is employed to help me with the vlogs, but actually Nati was coming with us on the mystery chateau trip that we had to cancel. She’ll be coming with us on the rescheduled trip, she most certainly needs a lovely break ❤️

Anonymous

So exciting and so interesting to learn history etc. especially from the architect. Your life is an adventure every day! Take care, easy does it!

Anonymous

That duchesse brisée is something milady Stephanie needs in her boudoir! I hope to have one in my future as well. They are beautiful and useful, as they are used as a chaise longue, but can be broken up into seating for 3 if there is company.

Julia Cobb

This was so interesting! Finding the architectural details and plans for rooms and it makes me happy that you have extra things like I do. They honestly will have a use, just not right now. Please take care of yourself. You are supposed to be resting. We’d rather you are healthy than post videos. We want you healthy to greet us when we come!

Anonymous

Very interesting! But please do REST! lol. Your health is more important!

Anonymous

Our Dear Stephanie, why is there a work station? :)

Anonymous

That was great! I hear a lot about the fire, but I can't seem to locate a video discussing it at length. Is there a video I should go to find out more about the fire? Thanks!

Anonymous

As always, such fun content, Stephanie! It must be so hard to slow down when the momentum for getting so much accomplished is so amazing right now! I am glad to see that you're making time for healing and recovery. Hopefully, what work you've done this week was leisurely paced?!!?!!! ;-)

Anonymous

Dear Stephanie, I send you a big hug from México. I love so much history that I really enjoyed all about La Lande restoration. Take care of yourself.

Anonymous

Wonderful vlog Stephanie. The architect is so interesting with lots of helpful ideas and contacts . You have a knack for attracting interesting and vibrant people, much like yourself really. Rest up and get well , love from NZ x

Anonymous

Stephanie and Philip - while you are in Perigord, you should visit friends of mine - Comte et Comtesse de Bruc-Chabans at Château de La Chapelle-Faucher - although they may be in Paris right now. Here is the number Tel. / Fax 05.53.54.81.48. Part of their chateau was used as a stable for Louis XIV, and the count is a descendant of Boni de Castellane.

Anonymous

Another excellent vlog but Stephanie you’re meant to be resting!! Loved the architect, she is incredibly knowledgeable and has so many ideas so thanks for sharing this very interesting discussion. We have a house in Entre deux Mers and some friends have retired to the Perigord Noir and we love going to visit them when we are in the country. Please do rest and take care of yourself, love from Abu Dhabi x

Daniel Hammond

Thank you for the video. The architect is very inspiring. I hope you can keep the original floor, if humanly possible. It would be worth spending some money on to have the original carry on in place.

Anonymous

I always wondered why people who choose to leave sometimes also choose to loudly announce their departure. I respect this persons opinions however would challenge that they also set themselves up with impunity by using the "if you dare ask a question... " statement. This is a construct. This persons has gone now, I don't see the point in leaving this comment here.

Anonymous

It would be so much fun for us list makers to see what you and Phillip think needs done to finish each of the rooms after your cleanup /organizing is done.

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie. Looks like you’re enjoying your break-ation. Beautiful vlog. Take 💕 care❣️

Denise Behrends

I love the architect’s idea to treat the window in the boudoir as “an object of beauty—a little jewel." The extra sliding window would actually be a quite interesting feature, like a secret hidden window. The architect is an absolute treasure trove of historical insight. I understand the practical considerations for double glazed windows and doors, but I’ve noticed an appreciable difference in the newer French doors and windows that cannot quite capture the charm of the originals. As an admittedly hopeless devotee to historical preservation, I am hopeful that, whenever feasible, the original architectural elements can be retained in the chateau. I admire how you always give such thoughtful consideration to the history of Lalande. Please do continue to take care of yourself Stephanie. Indulge in plenty of rest and relaxation.

Anonymous

In the boudoir, are you considering changing the northeast dressing room door to a double door to match the bedroom door in the southwest corner? I assume that the new southeast entry door will be made to match the bedroom door. It is hard to create symmetry since the deep "back" door from the bedroom is so much smaller than the other doors. I find merit in moving the small paned 18th century window to the opening over the entry, in conjunction with the new balcony. It would give a reason for the unique window and highlight it.

Anonymous

So many exciting things to look forward to. the architect is wonderful. Take care as we all need you to bring your beautiful home plans to fruition.

Anonymous

Historic windows always look best. New windows simply don't look "right," as the architect mentioned. A great answer to insulation problems is the Indow type of interior storm window. The genuine window stays in place, whilst inside, there is a one-piece glass that is easy to affix every winter with magnets or some such. There are cheaper alternatives to Indow. I hope to take out my phony-looking double glazed windows (previous owner disposed of the real windows) and put single pane glass back in, with the internal storm windows for winter warmth. It makes a world of difference to historic facades.

Anonymous

Dear Stephanie and Philip, I apologize for my comments on the vlog page. All I intended was to diffuse nasty rumors. I had no idea how invasive and disrespectful reactions would be! That teaches me to keep my mouth shut! I am shocked about how much license people take to poke their noses into your business. From now on silence is golden! I am so sorry!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, I'm a little late to watching this (just settled now with my cup of tea - double whammy, as vlog tonight!), and not read through the comments (so may have already been suggested), but if I could suggest that if the architect recommends making current windows larger or unbricking windows hidden away - would it be an idea to hold off on interior renovations until the windows are done, lest you have to wallpaper/decorate rooms again at more cost?

Anonymous

So glad you had some time to rest and recuperate in such an idyllic place! On the topic of the one window with the small panes; if you replace it with something else could it be repurposed somewhere else in the Chateau? Possibly interior doors? They're so beautiful!

Anonymous

Looks so pretty! Take good care, Stephanie. Thank you for sharing all of this extra nice stuff. I am returning to my high school classroom after a year and 2 weeks tomorrow morning, but I am retiring this school year. so,... ahhh! Thank you for the year of fun and I look forward to keeping up with you and everything LaLande!

Anonymous

Such exciting times at the chateau , love all the renovations and plans, love to you all in lockdown again x
