From the “Cynthia part, to the Marie, trying on the stripe button up saying she looks like she has a couple toddlers! O MGosh , I just couldn’t stop laughing! Wonderful how the channel keeps on growing, so happy for you Stephanie. Can I just say I was so worried for the lovely Selmar; while he may have had nose plugs, he was still breathing the dust in through his mouth ! Also, might have been better to find one of the empty outbuildings to do the stone cutting. Can you imagine the stone dust that will cover the hundreds of items in the workshop

At first glance I thought it was citrine also, but upon looking a tad closer what I thought was citrine is actually packed clay soil. There is a line of whitish stone that they are referencing I believe.

Hi! I'm a graduate student studying geology in Canada I'm not sure what the tan colouring is but if you upload a photo of it I could do my best to identify it *virtually*. As for the fossil, it looks like a crinoid - especially if it looks like a bunch of cheerios stacked on top of each other (which I think it does). Crinoids are pretty cool sea creatures that first appeared about 350,000,000 years ago! So the rock is most likely a limestone and the quartz would have formed sometime after the rock solidified. As warm water travelled through cracks or pores in the rock it left behind traces of silica (SiO2). Kind of like how calcium builds up on your kettle over time if you live somewhere with hard water!

One more thing (because I'm a nerd and can talk about rocks all day): Earth Scientists use Mohs hardness scale when talking about minerals. So diamond is the hardest at 10 and can (in theory) cut through everything (natural). The limestone is probably about a 3-4 on the hardness scale while quartz is a 7. So when Selmar was cutting through the rock it makes a lot of sense that he could feel more resistance when he started cutting into the quartz

I agree! Selmar should wear a proper respirator mask. Grinding stone like that releases silica dust into the air and breathing it in can cause silicosis of the lungs. It's imperative he wear a mask as should anyone breathing in the renovation dust from stonework or other building materials. Better safe than sorry 💗💗💗

Such a shame that Michael visited the website with the hate comments. There’s a reason that actors say they don’t read their reviews.... A big downside of the internet is that it gives attention seekers the ability to stay hidden behind their keyboards without being exposed or having to take responsibility for their words and what they do. The problem has always been out there to some degree since internet chat rooms, chats and messaging began. And unfortunately the experience we’ve seen over these past recent years from the previous US leader has only emboldened the behaviour of the trolls and haters even more.

When will the next financial update be? Whilst it is great the consistency in the patreon funds there is a now a focus on panelling for bedrooms? Why is it you won't address the lack of insulation in the buildings, especially now when such amounts are being donated?

This is such an appropriate and positive quote that can truly help people stay focused on the light. I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that most Lalanders wanted to join the Lalander Community simply because it is part if the light. Stephanie has invited us to share in her life and that is an incredibly brave thing to do. We should behave as proper guests and be gracious and grateful.

With walls that thick it's not necessary to insulate, it would be a waste of funds. Stephanie has a list of projects that are ongoing and the paneling of the bedrooms is not at the top of the list. Also she has stated that more than 50% of the funds were held back to account for taxes and she will not know how much of those funds will be released until after her accountant completes the taxes for the non profit. She is much more transparent than she has to be with the Patreon funding - not many on this platform are as transparent.

Here's a nice wintery snack/soda bread recipe: Dorie Greenspan's Goat Cheese and Fig Quick Bread French, Breads, Quick Breads, Clementine, Fig, Parsley, Tangerine, Snack, Appetizer Mark as Cooked 336 ratings INGREDIENTS Nonstick cooking spray or butter 4 ounces/115 grams very cold soft goat cheese 4 moist, plump dried figs (such as Kalamata), cut into 1/4-inch bits ⅓ cup/20 grams finely chopped fresh parsley 1 ½ teaspoons finely chopped fresh rosemary ½ teaspoon finely chopped fresh thyme 1 ¾ cups/225 grams all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder ½ teaspoon fine sea salt ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 3 large eggs, at room temperature ⅓ cup/80 milliliters whole milk, lukewarm ⅓ cup/80 milliliters olive oil 1 tablespoon honey 1 clementine or 1/2 tangerine Add to Your Grocery List Ingredient Substitution Guide PREPARATION Center a rack in the oven and heat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat an 8- to 9-inch loaf pan with baking spray (or butter the pan). Cut the goat cheese into 1/2-inch pieces. It’s a sticky, messy job, so don’t aim for perfection.
