the day Stephikins wrote about Christmas was the date of my baby sisters birth. 12/13/83. she just turned 37. I love that you keep those things. I am the same way.

Thank you for sharing, but if you just did a narrated slideshow for the next couple of days, or something else a little less timeconsuming, that would be perfectly fine! Just remember to breathe deeply, and enjoy these precious few days with your friends and family! I loved this extra footage. These Patreon videos are amazing! Stephanie, could I suggest, along with Rasmus, that rather than spending your Christmas Day buried in you room editing, send a notice that the final Vlogmas video will be a day late and have a lovely time and post the video on 26 December 2020. People are mostly so frantically busy on Christmas Day that many will not have time to watch it until the 26 anyway and that would mean that you could join in the celebrations fully. And maybe even get some extra footage! Have a lovely day and I am glad you are well once again.

Just wanted to say, too, that the Advent vlogs this year were amazing. Including everyone in the Chateau was a perfect idea. It rounded things out and we got to see the full depth and breadth of activities in the lead up to Christmas. I LOVED watching Selmar make the crèche, and all the glorious singing, cooking, decor, and general daily shenanigans. It’s a magical place, Lalande. Blessings to you all. 🎄🌟

Watching from my guest room at my daughter's home. Yea!!! I'm here for Christmas. Another delightful glimpse behind the scenes. These past Advent days at LaLande have been a treasure leading up to the 25th. The joy, laughter and love helped to make the season bright in a potentially grey vortex of our world's 'bump in the road'. Sending healing hugs to Stephanie...you are so loved. My Dear Stephanie, What I wouldn't give to have been in that closet with you all sorting out what to wear to The Oscars. And then Cat pulled out that little black strapless cocktail number with the ostrich feathers. Pastry tarts with fruit mince eg raisins, blackcurrants, sultanas. Also with spices, eg cinammon, nutmeg and often suet or lard added. It is literally dried fruit minced up. Every recipe is slightly different. My flatmate used to make hers just after xmas and keep it in the fridge for a whole year for the next christmas.

My sister did a town hall wedding since Covid cancelled her main one for a while, and when I saw she was going to wear just any old dress, I was like "oh no, come to my closet." I had a darling lace off-white dress that looked very 50s, crochet cream gloves, a pearl beaded clutch and vintage lace handkerchief. It's so fun to have a closet that can save the "fancy" day! Loved watching this Stephanie!

That was so fun! I loved seeing Cat and Phillip exploring the attic and the rooms in the old part of the chateau! I could palpably sense the love that they feel for darling Stephanie, when they were looking at her 8 year old writings. (There’s a 25) Maybe something terrible happened, and I’ll feel like a heel for suggesting that, but in this day of being 100% connected, simply NOT hearing anything is worse than hearing bad news. Ordinarily I wouldn’t be at all concerned because in the past she’d post a small blurb about delays or internet issues. But the fact there has been nothing since Thursday makes me think she may not be feeling well still and perhaps over did it right after going to A&E. I did say in one of the vloggs that the stockings were too close to the fire, my husband is an architect, surveyor and fire engineer and I am always being told about how fires start. I would also say the fire extinguishers you have around the chateau are not the best way to solve the fire risk, but its a very complex issue and not one to discuss here.

Sometimes I would wonder if the people at Lalande were always happy. That happiness and joie de vivre was part of what drew me to watching the Chateau Diaries. It’s such a joy to be able to watch these extra patron videos to see how really, truly joyful everyone is and that the camaraderie is real. I know it’s impossible for anyone to be happy all the time but it’s wonderful to see the people of Lalande and their genuine levity.
