I work as a building antiquarian and follow the work of the chateau with big interest and it is going to be really fun to follow the new projects! Regarding the "powder room" floor, it is positive that it is visible which parts are original and which parts have been changed. To use the flagstone plates you can find, even though they don't match in size, contributes to the feeling and impression of the rooms history. One problem with renovating old buildings is that a lot of character disappears when alterations are done, it becomes too new and perfect.

So much fun watching the extra footage. I was clapping at the end after watching Selmar do his 'routine'. It's Thursday 17th Dec and snowing like crazy this morning. I love it. Beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Poopy peacocks are soooooo beautiful they can be forgiven. Nothing better than getting rid of 'stuff'. Oh, I noticed, one of the things, going to Emmaus, was a Bodum Chambord (french press?) coffeepot.... Those are actually really nice, and quite expensive.... I know, because I have them in three sizes, and also a teapot and matching cups. It might be one of the things, you actually want to buy back - because I think Selmar, or other coffee drinkers, might love it 😁 But, judging from the dance moves, Selmar might not need more coffee 😂

That was so much fun & it’s wonderful seeing everyone getting on so well. I love the fact you could buy your stuff back at the charity shop Stephanie. My friend used to help in a charity shop & one day he took his jumper off to do some work & forgot about it. When he went back to get it the next day he found out that they had sold his £200 cashmere sweater for £5 ...oops! I am now going online to buy the Lalande book. Keep having fun everyone ...it’s so refreshing xx

There is a close caption option at the bottom of the screen. That is great feature though there have been some really funny "mis-translations" over the months.

Loved all of it! And wow, Selmar has amazing moves! I used to do a lot of dancing, including swing dance & a bit of Lindy hop, so I cannot wait to visit eventually & dance at Lalande. In all the various plans you have for the chateau, you MUST make space for dancing. Lalande needs a lovely grand ballroom! :D

That was lovely! The dancing! I have always had a soft spot for Cat, for we are alike in some ways. When I saw her taking things to the charity shop I knew for certain that we are kindred spirits. Absolutely loving your Advent Calendar! Already watched all of last years and loved all the ideas you and Michael came up with. I think my favorite thing thus far was the re-building of the manger. First of all - you brighten up my days. I am fully behind all you do. All of you. Selmar, that was some serious dance jam action at the end! I used to spend a lot of late nights and early mornings at swing dancing events, and at some point in the wee hours there would be a jam. Everyone would stand around in a circle, clapping along with a swing tune, and dancers would take their turn in the centre to do some solos or fancy couples moves. You would have made the crowd roar with joy with your moves.
