Chandelier s’il vous plaît!

Anonymous

Balcony. Safety always trumps style.

Anonymous

Thomas Must have watched that TV Show called PLEASE LIKE ME, i.e. his song. lol Mummy should earn an USA Oscar for best Dramatic Performance for her cause. lol Loved her dramatics lol

Anonymous

Helen cummings . Shutters

Anonymous

18.000 ... wow that's a great chandelier .. surely not all that money ! if u go for a smaller one u can't get off those shutter stops as well.. xx

Anonymous

I vote for the walkway, connecting all the windows!

Anonymous

As a royal, I prefer to look down upon my loyal subjects so I vote BALCONY! 🤴🏻

Anonymous

Definitely need a Chandelier. Wow factor. Welcoming. Inviting. The lobby must have light. With you all the way Tom and Gerry 🙈😘

Anonymous

Stephanie noted the other day that someone said her videos had characters right of some story book. Well.......this video did make me think the same thing but it was wicked funny and you can tell it was not a performance but their true personalities. TOM & JERRY.....LOVED IT. lol

Anonymous

I laughed all the way through. I love Tom and Gerry lol

Anonymous

Shutters please x

Anonymous

LOVE THIS VIDEO...❤ The difference in prize between "shutters closing things" and a balcony must be juge, I think. So the walkway I vote for, (safety first as mam says) and I hope these small things.... Selmar is so clever with wood, can he make these from wood first and later you can change these by metalthings if it is still nessesary.

Anonymous

I vote for the balcony! The latches are so wonderful, as is the chandelier, but I think these things will get done maybe by volunteers. The balcony is going to require some expert outside help. Love the video. It made my day!

Anonymous

I am totally charmed by Tom and Jerry! I vote for the chandelier. Something huge and glorious! A real show stopper. Lots of crystals that will reflect on the walls with baby rainbows when the sun is low. But be looking for the window stops. Count how many you will need. I love the faces on them. Find them and get them priced. We will be at $20K before you know it. The balcony can come last. Put a chair in front of the windows until then. Love from Memphis, Tennessee!!

Anonymous

What a delightful video! I vote for the balcony, safety first! I have added my vote in the poll!

Anonymous

I loved this video!! But I am all for the chandelier! What an impressive pitch from Tom and Gerry! 👏🏻 I laughed so much!!!😂

Anonymous

1. Balconies.... 2. chandelier (dark halls on winter nights are too scary)...2 1/2 shutter holders

Anonymous

We loved this video and the way each team presented their project. It was fun!! Please do it again!!

Anonymous

This video was so cute - I love the different perspectives but I think I have to go with Isabelle and Nati's proposal - safety first and it seems a less daunting task, and perhaps the chandelier could be done if there's a find from a Brocante or a little wiggle room in a future month?

Anonymous

Tom and Gerry are the cutest, however, I voted balcony.

Anonymous

Just hilarious I vote for chandelier 💡

Anonymous

Loved it. My first as a new patron. My vote is for a glowing, beautiful, welcoming CHANDELIER. Let there be light. What a duo...Tom and Gerry! We're in for a lot of fun with these two. Hugs.

Anonymous

Chandelier! Go team Tomas and Scotman!

Anonymous

Hmmmm… Were there balconies in the beginning OR are you adding them?

Anonymous

That was so fun to watch!

Anonymous

What about the lovely chandelier you & Selmar picked up yesterday in Paris? Would that work? If that one fits in the room, then we could remove that category from the roster and have the two left to vote on :). Or maybe it could be wired in right now until you find the perfect one! (Better than a modern one that doesn't work.)

Anonymous

1st.... Protection of Chateau...... Shutters 2nd choice is for Tom & Jerry’s chandelier. Great fun video. 👏😀

Anonymous

Haven't reached the Third choice, but in the bedroom with shutter issues I shouted "Shutter Dogs!" at the screen like an idiot. Well, at least in New England we call them that, it's not very pretty, come to think of it, Shutter dogs, but there you go...now to see what number 3 is!

Anonymous

Balcony please

Anonymous

Alice in wonderland, three impossible things before breakfast !! I voted balcony !

Anonymous

Tomas is a gem and he needs to stay forever.

Anonymous

I think the Chandelier. It would look lovely 💖💜

Anonymous

What fun to watch this video! Laughed all the way through. I must say Tom & Gerry almost had me. You both wet spectacular🥰bravo 👏🏽. I have to say the balcony tugs at my heart, then the chandelier & lastly the little shutter pieces (maybe Selmar can help create those). He is most creative with his woodwork.

Anonymous

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this video and the crazy gang putting forward their ideas. Brilliant. Just surprised Scotman didn't put forward a tartan rendering for the chateau....or is that for 19000????

Anonymous

I love each idea as it was presented. I think first the shutters need to be addressed as they could harm residents and visitors if they are not properly held in place with clips( for lack of a better word) and they could be worn from slamming the walls and disturbing sleeping guests. Second, I would like the chandelier be installed in the entrance as that is what guests would see first and they say, first impression is important. Thus if it’s dark in the entrance, maybe the guests would not get that bright, glowing feeling the Chateau should be giving. Because that is what the Chateau is about...bright, glowing, happiness inside. Third the walkway, balconies would be a wonderful safety factor for the residents and guests to evacuate the building, in case of an emergency and also to sit on the balconies to view the glorious evening displays. All of them benefit to the Chateau. Can’t wait to see who wins.

Anonymous

I couldn't stop laughing.

Anonymous

These items are called shutter DOGS. We need DOGS at Lalande! Not enough DOGS! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_(engineering)#Shutter_dog

Anonymous

Everyone is adorable! Love to you all! I voted for Mummy and Natalia's idea, the shutter holders.

Anonymous

Tomas and Gerry were meant to be friends!

Anonymous

Are you sure Tom and Gerry aren't secretly related. I think an adoption is in order, like two peas in a pod.

Anonymous

Does Isabelle want a walkway past her window? Thought I heard her voice dissent in the video. Would individual juliet balconies in each window be more feasible and less objectionable? Love all three choices...the shutter dogs and a brightly illuminated entrance room by winter seem essential.

Anonymous

Hmm, I vote for the chandelier first, then the Dogs and finally the balcony. Love all the ideas!

Anonymous

Ah yes and just saw above a comment about safe evacuation with the walkway in case of fire (heaven forbid)...Safety seems to militate in favor of the walkway.

Anonymous

Your mum deserves a balcony. She can sit and drink her champagne with Percy in peace Lol

Anonymous

It's an issue of safety ! Definitely prioritize the balconies. Is there anything more romantic than a candlelit entry hall?? I love it as is (for now)!

Alton Condra

Mummy is always right ! Shutters get my vote but I loved this video and say we let everyone win and we have our three next goals.

Anonymous

Let there be light 💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡 💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡

Anonymous

That was hilarious!! Each of your personalities shone through your performances! Each of the teams' persuasive qualities were so impressive! Brava!! Now you have made it extremely difficult for us to decide with those tremendous presentations. Hmmm... I really would like to have the plans for the balconies and walkway done... having said that, those adorable shutter dogs would be wonderful to have on each of the shutters... and having said that, it is so important to have light in the reception area especially a beautiful chandelier! And... after much deliberation and re-watching of each of the truly inspiring, persuasive presentations I have chosen in order: 1. The chandelier (Tom and Gerry - I cannot stop laughing!!) 2. the shutter dogs (Mummy and Nati - you truly showed how very important those shutter dogs are and it is crucial that they be purchased and installed with the $19,000 goal!!) 3. the plans for the balconies and walkway (Steph and Selmar - you made the presentation come alive complete with audience participation!!). Brava to all the performers!!

Anonymous

Laughed so much!

Anonymous

Tom and Gerry could be a dangerous combo. This video was so much fun!

Anonymous

This is a difficult decision. My heart says chandelier but safety....

Anonymous

Mummy and Percy, will be inside with the curtains drawn, because of all the people walking past her window all day long..

Anonymous

The whole amount is not spent each time, it’s used for a number of things. The targets are set to give us a choice each time! At some point the donation will level off and probably stay at a continuous monthly amount, but until then we can have our own little say in what happens

Anonymous

Incredibly deserved presentations!! Wow! But at this stage, I think your guests deserve light and a peaceful nights sleep in that divine and tranquil setting.

Anonymous

We vote for the shutter DOGS first, because if the shutters flap back and forth in the wind they can be damaged as well as the railing and the plaster on each side of the window. Secondly, we vote for the chandelier. Here we ask, is there electricity running to the existing chandelier? (I am thinking no, there isn't) if that is the case then the cost will definitely go up as we will need to pull wires. So, if we can afford both then yes, let's make that #2. Then #3 will be the architect for the walkway. I was very concerned about the comment if needing it for a fire escape. If this is so, then we want to move #3 into the position of #2. (Yes, I am a worrier LOL !! what can I say ?)

Anonymous

My goodness l had such a lot of giggles watching the teams proposals 😆 my vote goes to balconies then shutter secures and lastly chandelier. But Tomaz be comforted that you nearly won me over with your rendition of Sia’s Chandelier-hee. Love being a patron and the gift of a little extra 💕

Alton Condra

Stephanie. Does the whole chateau need new plastering? You need to replace all the concrete with plaster?

Anonymous

That was brilliant! What a fabulously hysterical way to present the choices. Trouble is......they were all so persuasive I’m finding it hard to chose!

Anonymous

Tomas is hilarious.

Anonymous

Yes, I’ve been looking at the render on the facade, hoping it would be sorted before the more aesthetic items where done, eg landscaping and gravel

Anonymous

For sure get the concrete off that beauty! It has single handedly ruined more old castles and homes then plywood! Lol! And y’all are too funny! So glad I found y’all! 🥰

Anonymous

The chandelier to start! It will make such a beautiful statement when your guests arrive! ❤️❤️❤️

Anonymous

This was so funny, but you all made it very hard to choose! Since you are already working in that room, I think I'll choose the chandelier to complete the look, before you move on to other projects :)

Anonymous

laughed so much!! my vote - 1) chandelier 2) shutters 3) walkway

Anonymous

I laughed so much lol xx

Anonymous

DEFINITELY the balcony, save mummy!

Anonymous

While dangerous right now, I think an entire walkway and balcony is too big a project for this goal. So I will be voting for the shutter dogs as they have practical as well as ornamental use. The chandelier should come later, in my opinion, since it's not a large project, but mainly a design issue.

Anonymous

What fun!!! With so many expensive projects on the list, I think we need to be frugal. Chandelier it is!

Anonymous

Oh my goodness - love seeing the various sales techniques on display! Tom & Gerry’s amazing use of humour and of course photo bombing 😛 Mummy & Natties excellent use of fear as a motivator 😝 and then of course Stephanie and Selma’s spectacular use of visualisation as their technique- and I’m sure Michael Potts was out swimming in the new virtual pool. All such great ideas, looking forward to the poll 😍🇦🇺🥂🍾

Anonymous

I found a web site that sells arrêt de tête bergères like the ones you have the name is bricolorer they sell for 13.92 euros each it can give you an idea of the cost for the shutters .

Anonymous

🤣👍🏽💙 fabulous videos!

Anonymous

Love the presentation of everyone.. You all have a valid point. Safety first . But would like to have everything done if that’s possible. Ms. Attrix from Miami

Anonymous

Shutters, chandelier, walkway

Anonymous

OMG these 3 skits were tooo funny 🤣! How can one vote for only 1 of the 3 projects? Everyone was so compelling & invested on their own project . I would love all 3 projects to be done, but I voted for the chandelier in the entrance as the 2 Ian's are already working in the entrance. It would be nice to just complete this room and move on to the next project. Looking forward to the result. Je vous aime xx.

Anonymous

Love the photo bombs! Tomas has a phenomenal voice!

Anonymous

It's so hard to pick one project, all have so much merit and were so well presented...

Anonymous

the chandeliers please

Anonymous

Mummy so serious about her shutter backs and then Tomas: “I’m going to swing from the chandelier” 😂👌🏼

Anonymous

Best video ever!! Going forward can all votes be put forward like this?! Absolutely loved it and laughed so much! 😉🏰💕

Anonymous

Loved Tomas’ singing! Drama! Have to vote for the Chandelier :-)

Anonymous

OMG you guys are soooo fabulous. What a fun video - you brightened my day. XX

Anonymous

This video was SUCH a joy to watch!! All 3 teams made compelling arguments and now I'm off to the poll!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, you've struck gold with Selmar and Thomas. Have you ever had any bad experiences with volunteers?

Anonymous

Good Morning from sunny Glasgow, I vote for the Chandelier, Shutters, Balcony. Tom & Gerry should be an official double act, couldn't stop laughing ! xxx

Anonymous

Oh what fun, oh dear love all the ideas have merit x

Anonymous

It sounds like the architect is going to be a great new advisor/consultant for Stephanie to have on board as she moves forward with the more complex renovations 😊

Anonymous

So funny. I still vote for the shutters though. 😊

Anonymous

On a separate note, am a little concerned for your general security if you’re having unexpected drones fly past your windows....

Anonymous

I vote for the shutters because they're getting continually damaged in the wind but I have to say that Tom and Gerry are so great together!👏🌟

Anonymous

Very funny video, love all 3 however we vote for tgge Walkway drawings, Tomas is a great addition to the Lalande family, so happy to see Gerry back. 😍

Anonymous

I vote for shutters. Save the windows and the frames!! And the guest from heart attacks:)

Anonymous

So happy to see the delightful Gerry has returned to LaLande. His gifts of fun and elfish wit make my day. I am getting a new puppy, so in Gerry's honor, I ordered Maxwell, the long-haired dachshund, a Maxwell tartan bow tie for my Scotish family of Glasgow.

Anonymous

Amazing how Gerry's presence changes the tone of life, I feel like all of you are laughing much more now (not that you weren't laughing before) I know that I certainly am while watching the videos.

Anonymous

Could anyone please tell me how long you waited for your patron card?

Anonymous

Sounds like we need to meet this architect!

Anonymous

agreed! Although I remember Mummy saying well before any of this that the local police keep a very good eye on Stephanie and are quite protective of her. I can only imagine that will increase.

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, I know the walkway balcony idea is very nice but as an architecture major myself I don't think it suits Lalande. I have seen the 'hameau de la reine' at Versailles and I get that its pretty romantic but the buildings over there have more of a cottage look and that wing of your chateau has more of a grander style already. A quick fix to your dormer windows would be a 'Juliet balcony'. Maybe a banister made of wood attached to the lower half of the window should work. The chandelier and the 'shutter dogs' are both brilliant ideas!

Anonymous

I’m a bit worried. Can we expect the amount of contributions to continue to go up? Should new projects be linked only to whether the contributions increase, or instead could we be voting on projects on the basis that they are the order of priority when there is money available to spend on the next project. Also given some projects are very expensive, will Stephanie be able to commit to all of these expensive projects just because the next target has been met? Maybe an approach of a priority list of projects that we get to vote on, which are done when existing projects are finished and Stephanie feels financially able to start another one will be the best of all worlds?

Anonymous

I vote for the chandelier first and the shutter holds second. It seems that both could be done with $18,000; especially if Selma or Thomas can do the installation of the holds.

Anonymous

That vlog made my day! Thank you all at La Lande <3

Anonymous

Who could say no to Tom and Gerry?! Couldn’t stop laughing at their antics 😂

Anonymous

I LOVED that video, hahaha! And the adorable peachicks. 🥰 But...but...I want to vote for all three items! 😂 I can’t choose...maybe I’ll close my eyes and just tap one. Hahaha.

Anonymous

All the ideas sounds great! But I got especially excited about you getting the exterior walls fixed, fun project with both aesthetically and practical benefits.

Anonymous

Total joy from watching this .. thank you!! 😂😂 I vote for the chandelier and then the shutters. I easily imagine you being over $30k per month shortly and you can do whatever you desire ❤️ There is no tap on the abundance of this world and if people can make Kardashian a billionaire then I say keep setting successfully accomplished goals!! There is great love here.

Anonymous

I vote for shutter dogs, then chandelier, lastly balconies. I don't think the walkway would be a good thing. Just individual balconies. Are there still five chicks? 🙏🏻💗🙏🏻

Anonymous

Love all of the projects. My vote is for the chandelier then the shutter dogs. Both are important but I think having light will increase the functionality and use of the room. And as Gerry pointed out it will be the light that welcomes everyone to la lande. The shutter dogs are also important and the ones you do have are wonderful. It would be great to see what you will come up with design wise for those that are missing. So many possibilities! As Isabelle and Natalie pointed out it will also help to keep the shutters and the exterior from any further damage due to the constant banging. As much as I’d love to support Selmar and you, I would choose the removal of the cement render as my third choice. Would it not be wise to remove all of the cement even if it’s not a problem at the moment on the upper stories. It would allow the structure to breath and sustain it long term. Preventative vs waiting for it to become a problem. Just a suggestion. P.s. love the teams and presentation. Great way to share the options to vote on!

Kaitlyn Metro

Hello Steph! This is my first time commenting. I really enjoyed this style of video this week. So much fun! My vote is for the balcony...as I hope it will also lead work on Jerry's apartment after the chapel is finished! Im wondering- when you finish the early goals, where does that money get redirected to each month? Can we choose new targets for that money as you reach them? Sending love to the whole Lalande family!

Anonymous

Okay Steph, you won me over! How could any of us say no to a safer Mummy?!? I feel it is our duty to protect such a national treasure. The balcony has my vote!!

Anonymous

Ha ha brilliant! Love the fun creating pitches for projects! 🤣 great idea!

Anonymous

The money seems to be used on a number of projects, like the panelling for the salon will cost $20,000+ or the paving of the terrace or new gravel for the court yard will easily cost $7,000-$10,000. Another thing to remember is that tax has to be paid on this money, so the $16,000 could come down to as low as $8,000 per month..

Anonymous

Don’t forget that $18,000 going in doesn’t mean that’s what’s left to spend, there are tax’s that have to be paid, So that could easily be reduced to as low as $9,000. Also, some money has to roll over for the bigger projects, like $20,000+ for the salon panelling. I would also be inclined to start a small emergency pot for that one thing that will happen out of the blue one day.

Anonymous

not to fear, I am also an arch. and think it would be lovely! she also has an architect who specializes in historic buildings/chateaux in the area. She has done a wonderful job so far and it would be amazing. Also one has to think of how the building is, and will be used. All of the people in and out?

Anonymous

Mummy is indeed an international treasure!! she needs to be protected!! a balcony and its use as a FIRE ESCAPE is truly needed people!!

Anonymous

A question :- Did you paid the full price for the chateau or did you paid in installments?

Anonymous

They had a loan they paid off over time. It is fully paid off now

Anonymous

How does Stephanie know the postal address of the patron in order to send a card? I don't recall giving mine out - just my email address.

Anonymous

Finally had time to watch this!! I'm now thoroughly convinced Stephanie and Selmar could sell ice cubes in Antarctica. 🤣 Well done, darlings!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Anonymous

For those of you who are new Patrons, Stephanie, the family and I cordially invite you to join A Tale of Two Châteaux, the official fan community of both Château de la Lande and the Château de la Basmaignée. Come chat with the family and see loads of extra goodies!! We can't wait to see you!! ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ https://www.facebook.com/groups/ataleoftwochateaux/?ref=share

Anonymous

I vote for balconies for safety (not necessarily a walkway but individual small balconies), then the chandelier, then the shutter stops! Surely the shutter stops would be just a nominal amount of money and could probably be done at the same time as the balconies or chandelier. Teresa

Anonymous

I vote for balconies. I think they would be perfect to have and give the outside a lovely look!

Anonymous

Thomas is annoying at best-

Anonymous

aww come on. that's so backhanded. everyone is having fun. everyone has their own personalities and character.

Anonymous

Shaun Jeffrey had a good suggestion when he said LaLande should have an emergency fund for those things that break when you least expect it. I suspect there is one set up already because the owners are very savvy.

Anonymous

Hello folks some Patron's have mentioned they cannot find details of the Christmas Experience @ Lalande or the road trips if you pop me an email to alittlepieceoffrancetocallhome@gmail.com I will get the information to you. Thank you Brenda

Anonymous

Steph, I miss your videos. Totally understand you need a break. But I miss your Friday and other videos so much. He, he, I was feeling a bit depressed and I realised it was because I am not having your every other day videos to cheer me up. Time for me to find other ways to smile in real life , but I’m really grateful you helped me so much during lock down as I was on my own. Xx

Anonymous

BTw Thomaz I think you’re wonderful, you so seem to fit in at the chateau. Can’t understand why someone would post that above. But anyway big hug from me to make up for it. Boo to them. X

Anonymous

We call them shutter dogs in America. What do you call them?

Anonymous

After much consideration, I vote #1, chandelier.

Anonymous

I may have missed you saying it in another video somewhere, but is there a reason that Nic doesn't appear on camera? Is it just his personal preference?

Anonymous

I TOTALLY agree with Nick's choice to remain behind the scenes

Anonymous

Just wondering how shutter dogs work? To fix the shutter back it looks like you have to do that from the exterior and clearly would have to use a ladder to do that for the higher floors?

Anonymous

Tomas and Gerald...lol They are hilarious !

Anonymous

Les balcons reliés!!! All the way!! love you all so much! xoxo Mychelle-Anne

Anonymous

I love that yellow dress!

Anonymous

Please! Please! Please!!! Tell me Selmar is never leaving. He is just delightful!

Anonymous

I just love this video. I watch it so many times. What a wonderful combination of people there. So playful and funny and yet talented and helpful. I laugh every time.

Anna Ibarra

Well late as usual, but now for a reason as I join Patreon afterwards. But after this video, all make such a good call. At first thought, chandelier, naw, but Tom& Jerry made a great point and never knew that was a “faux” chandelier Stephanie! Really a fake chandelier in a real chateau! No I don’t think so. 😄 Shutter dogs are a very essential and practical step, for shutters falling apart , & falling and that can be dangerous. Plus damage to chateau. Very solid and very good solid display Mummy, & Natalie! No theatrics needed for your suggestions. 👌🏼 Walkway, was another hysterical vote but ever so necessary as when I see Mummy open her window it is kind of scary. 😣🙏🏼 Either one, glad I didn’t have to vote. All great suggestions. 👌🏼

Anonymous

I absolutely loved this. It was hilarious! I hope you will do it again, for the votes for the next project.

Anonymous

balcony yes, but no walkway, it would block the sun to enter the rooms below and will change the look. Yes to repair the shutter and yes for chandelier, but maybe later... like in october?

Anonymous

oh! peacock feather!!! I would love to have one :) so pretty

Anonymous

I know this is an old video and I'm a new comer but oh how I've laughed it was so good to see everyone taking part x

Daniel Hammond

So funny! Thank you for the video!
