Here are the photos of our adorable peachicks. They were taken on the first day they hatched, so I didn't want to get too close and was using the zoom on my phone. Hopefully I'll be able to get better quality ones soon! They're becoming very inquisitive and used to all of the chateau dwellers!

Instead of posting my weekly update video on Patreon on Wednesday this week, I'll post it on Thursday or Friday. That way we'll have a chance to see where we are after the 1st of the month, and see what our next goals will be at that stage. We're all coming up with exciting options for future votes, and three of us might each put forward a different idea for you to vote from!

Oh my goodness! They are incredible! ❤️ Congratulations!

Anonymous

How exciting have you got names for them yet? Tomaz is doing a fab job in the laundry room x

Anonymous

Adorable do you already name them?

Anonymous

so nice to see new life ..brings joy and plenty of smiles xx

Anonymous

How do you keep the pea chicks safe from foxes etc at night... do they happily go into a barn overnight, or do Sif &Thor protect them? Barry

Anonymous

It's very exciting to see the peachicks (and this city girl is happy enough with photos)...and to be a small part of your home getting ahead!

Janese Carstens

How adorable! Antoine is going to be upset he missed their birth. It’ll be fun to name them.

Anonymous

So sweet!

Anonymous

This maybe a daft question but what do the chicks eat? Do you have to buy special food for them? Tomaz is a bit of fresh air too!

Anonymous

What joy! Thanks so much for sharing; it's been a true joy witnessing all the warmth and happiness at Lalande!

Anonymous

So cute! Has Thor interacted with them yet?

Anonymous

New beginnings indeed!

Anonymous

The absolute joy that went through me, when they returned to find the peachicks.... Breathtaking!

Anonymous

Can you tell if they are boys or girls?

Anonymous

beautiful! Selmar was the cutest ever!!! Ok - so I am stressed about setting new goals every 1k... i worry about costs of everything and it all adds up so (damn) quickly. i was wondering if we could move them a wee bit farther apart so the new amount would cover 100% of the cost. Like the mattresses - i cant even imagine how much it is for all of those matresses CUSTOM made... 1k cant cover it all.... but maybe 3k? would? I dont know... im stressing. the terrace, the lake, its going to be a fortune. plus... you really do need that fridge😜 but again.... that would be about (well here) it would be about 3k - BEFORE they were both built in.... so.... just venting the stress 😳

Anonymous

I am so happy for the mama. Thank you, they are adorable.

How exciting! The little peachicks are so cute!

Anonymous

Just lovely 😍

Anonymous

Do we know the gender of the pea chicks yet?

Anonymous

Thanks for sharing the pictures. They are so adorable!

Anonymous

They are so cute!! 💟💟

Anonymous

Thank you for putting them up in non.heic format!! Love the pictures and the chicks. It's remarkable how well their camouflage works even in a chateau environment! Also thanks so much for the link today on One Hundred Stars - they have such beautiful things - I hope they send you more goodies because I'm sure I won't be the only one admiring their wares. :) I'm so sad that they have shipments to the US on hold - although my finances are probably happy hah.

Anonymous

What a proud looking new parent and 5 of them how wonderfull 😊

Anonymous

They are adorable, love their color!

Anonymous

This seems like a good idea - A fridge (or maybe a freezer if one doesn't already exist that we haven't seen) for more storage. Are there other things needed for the chapel that could be a shorter term goal?

Anonymous

Absolutely adorable!! ❤❤

Anonymous

I might need help. I've cried during the last two videos.. ❤️❤️🦚🦚🦚🦚❤️❤️

Anonymous

They don't ship to US .. I'm so bummed! Wonderful gowns.

Hi Andrea, It is extremely difficult to determine the sex of peachicks until they are much older usually around 5 months of age. If you want to read more about it you can go to: https://sciencing.com/tell-male-peachick-female-peachick-7411385.html

They are adorable!!. The mother looks so proud❤ It looks like nr 5 is sometimes a little bit behind....is this correct? Love them by bits!

Anonymous

I'm sure daddy Selmar will find a safe haven for them :D

Anonymous

How incredibly beautiful. She's just such a gorgeous bird. We have them here but I have never seen newborn chicks. Thank you.

Ramon

Please, we need a vlog only about peachicks!

Anonymous

Such a treat. Seems like Thor is keeping his distance. Typical I suppose.

The additional family of Lalande, how wonderful 🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚

Im sorry... i will say cry all the time too. Its something about the relief if seeing happiness and kindness or something.... it is just a release or something. I do it too.... its hard these days with so much going on - confinement stress, world stress, money stress - and then you get these little windows of happy- its some how a release or something that triggers tears- that can be hard to figure out what it all means. All of that being said - if you dont have anyone to talk to - or loving dogs who are such a comfort - you may want to seek out someone to talk to. I feel you 100%

How magical 😍🦚

Anonymous

How adorable are they? Just so sweet. Xx

Anonymous

I’m a bit worried that Antoine’s rabbit might scare the chicks and stress Sif. I wonder if Selmar trained Diesel not to chase the chicks?

Anonymous

That's a magnificent pic of Sif with her chicks, thank you. You caught Sif in such a strong, proud and protective stance. The pic needs to be framed it's so lovely and even better (oh, if only I was a textile artist) the subject image for a Lalande toile de jouy.

Denise Behrends

Precious peachicks. Such a delight!

Anonymous

For the next goals, may I suggest your room and boudoir or Isabelle’s balcony.

Anonymous

Thank you for the photos Stephanie and congratulations! Are peacocks hard to keep? Xx

Anonymous

So cute! Do they have names yet?

Anonymous

So adorable! And no one even knew that Thor was attempting to bring peachicks into LaLande! What a good mama Sif is!

Perrrfect! Now which ones are hens and which are cocks?! I'm told that in siblings, the longer-legged ones are cocks. Get out there and measure hee hee!

I am so happy to see these little fluffy bundles of joy! I’m looking forward to finding out their gender and names. ❤️❤️

I can't!!!!!!

I love being a patreon!

Wonderful times💕❤️😘💕

I’ve just found out a group of peafowl is called a muster. La Lande officially has their muster!

Anonymous

Perhaps we need a little "slush fund" for when things run over in the amount that we have. Then we can still finish what we are doing and pay the outstanding bill from that. When things settle after the fist of the month we can refill our little fund and move on. Maybe $500.00 is that too much ?

Anonymous

Aren't they wonderful! I'm so glad Selmar kept an eye on them during that storm you had!

Anonymous

They are absolutely marvelous! I can't wait to watch them grow and thrive at Lalande.

Anonymous

They are so darling! Thank you for sharing the pictures!

Anonymous

Someone else posted an article here that you cannot tell what sex they are for a few months so we have to wait. 😠😠😠

Anonymous

There must be different names- what I found was that they were called a pride or an ostentation. Maybe one of these terms is more for a family of peafowl? Or maybe I only look at goofy websites 🤪? Any way you call it, I think Sid was showing major mama pride!

Anonymous

I wonder how you can tell which one is a male and which is female.

Anonymous

They have to be 5 months old to determine their sex. 💕

Anonymous

Aw, so happy for Sif. She must be thrilled.

Anonymous

Wow, 5 out of 5 eggs, that is impressive :D Sif must have been a good mother not to mention the mighty Thors abilities!

Anonymous

I loved Selmar's and Elizabeth excitement , it was heart warming. Congratulations Thor and Sif what lovely additions to la Lande ❤

Anonymous

Hello Joan. If you have time available to go back to some of the earlier Q&A videos you’ll see Stephanie explaining why she’s reluctant to set either of these suggestions as targets just yet..

Anonymous

It's so wonderful. The joy these bring to the masses and especially the patrons is fantastic ♥️♥️🦚🦚

Amazing

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie for the wonderful pictures. Sif looks so beautiful! I enjoyed the last vlog so much that l watched it twice. So many great moments. Awesome work Selma and Tomaz, living for the improvements and passion 🥰 Till next time

Anonymous

Adorable! What a lovely addition to La Lande. Can’t wait to see who joins next! As one Patreon commented, maybe goats for the area next to the mill?

Anonymous

Yay Sif! Well done. I think you should name the chicks after the aristocats ;)

I'm so excited, being a bit of a bird keeper, though not as yet run to Peafowl...one day. Though I've 50 quail's eggs on route to me as I type this, New Quail Chicks for the season. Of course I keep chickens; one has to have chickens in the country.

While I certainly don't make now, what I made then, I chose to spend my precious money wisely. You are a very wise investment. I hope, that next year, around June or July, I will be able to visit you and your beautiful family. So, until then, may God watch over us and keep us Safe.

Sorry, but the first part of my text was lost. Stephanie, I'm William Logan and I am from Sumter,South Carolina in the United States. It is such a great pleasure meeting you. I've been watching your show for some time now and I made the wise decision to join your team. I've been retired since Oct.2013 due to having my left foot amputated from Diabetes, Hypertension and Stage 3 Renal Failure. I have a prosthesis and I get around on it fairly well. I want you know that I made a very wise choice in you. So keep up the good work sweetie pie. Hugs and DELICIOUS kisses to all of you. Love y'all very much.💞💞💞💞🥰🥰🥰🥰💋💋💋💋💋💋

Anonymous

So cute! I want a baby peachick although the cats might think I'd brought it for them so maybe not!!

Anonymous

WOW Stephanie, congratulations on selling out your Dauphin and Dauphine tier. And yay to you too all you Dauphin and Dauphines for you stunning generosity!

Anonymous

I am happy to say I believe I scooped up the final one! I may be a bit late to the party but at least I still got a G&T before the bar closed, or something like that ;)

Anonymous

Good for you Donna Davis cheers!

Anonymous

How exciting to have a completed the Dauphin and Dauphine tier. All of us - no matter what tier we belong to -believe in Le Château de Lalande and its mission during this chaotic and turbulent time. Le Château de Lalande represents beauty, elegance, inspiration, hope for the future. We have all come together to support this ageless sense of historical timelessness. Well done!!

Anonymous

THANK YOU! They are so incredibly cute!!!! 😘🥰🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚

Anonymous

PRECIOUS 😍 THANK YOU Stephanie for sharing these photos of the newborn peachicks 🌟✨♥️❤️💕 🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚

Anonymous

So Wonderful, are you keeping them all ? I am hoping to get a peafowl pair. The beauty of a peacock just takes me to another place. It’s like living in a dream with magical creatures. I have a pigeonnier where they could live and lots of big trees. I would love them devotedly . I am just west of Chateauroux. Xxxxx

Anonymous

Thanks so much for sharing photos, so very special. Just love the photo with the stone stairs. 😍

Anonymous

Thank you for the photos Stephanie. I loved today's episode. Thomas is such a star. I absolutely loved the painting he found for your room. It is one of my favourites of your father's. I didn't quite hear the name of it. Could you tell me the name?

Anonymous

Tonight's vlog was wonderful. So happy to see Gerry back. Thomaz and Selmar are a joy and the two Ian's add to the skill set. I wonder if you have thought of linking with a university and seeing if they would like to use LaLand as a field trip opportunity for students to do architectural/historical research or restoration?

Anonymous

I'm loving the pictures of the baby Peacocks. I have a suggestion for one of your milestones. What about a fountain in the vegetable garden similar to the fountain in the Monastery garden that you and Mummy toured last month.

Anonymous

1/3 of the way to 17000. 🥳🥳

Anonymous

I’ve seen some of our USA LaLanders mentioning they’ve not been able to watch episodes of Escape To The Chateau DIY. FYI I’ve noticed a YouTube channel called Style Record Group. com that has 20 episodes available.

Anonymous

Almost 1500 patrons! What a joy-filled community - feeling grateful to have found this channel and community. I check the news each morning and then come here or to your YouTube videos to help get myself in a better mindset before starting my day. Thank you for the beauty you and the LaLande community are putting into the world! Your art is the best type of infectious 😀

Sofi Hultin

I’m so excited to find out what gender they’ll be! I really hope we’ll see 2-3 males. They’re so beautiful 😍

Anonymous

They’re very cute but not as smart as chickens. As a group they’re called peafowl. As individuals, females are called peahens and, of course, peacocks. I used to work in a zoo and very few chicks survived. Their main predators were hawks and owls. I’d guess you have that problem as well.

Anonymous

Hello folks some Patron's have mentioned they cannot find details of the Christmas Experience @ Lalande or the road trips if you pop me an email to alittlepieceoffrancetocallhome@gmail.com I will get the information to you. Thank you Brenda

Anonymous

Oh no..please don't say that they might not survive. Is there anything Stephanie and Selmar can do to ensure their safety.

Anonymous

They are so cute!!!

For those that like peacocks and dishes, I saw this pattern on ebay today and thought it was lovely. Just sharing some beauty today! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Copeland-SPODE-S-PEACOCK-Porcelain-Salad-Plate-1885/283784561784?hash=item4212e0c478:g:xuoAAOSwZedeSNDs
