EPIC NEWS!!! Lalande has five adorable PEACHICKS! (Patreon)

On the same day that we reached (briefly!) the $16,000 target, Sif hatched five perfect peachicks. I’m pretty sure that it was in celebration, so, even though we’ve dipped below the threshold again, I think she wanted you to see this sneak preview as your gift. They were born last night, in the middle of a storm so terrible that it fried our intent router (I’m uploading this from our delicious local goat’s cheese restaurant!). If Selmar hadn’t made her the shelter, we’re certain they wouldn’t have survived the night. But they’re alive and well and we think they’re the prettiest, cleverest peachicks in the world.

I have some adorable photos, too, but I only have them in .heic form, so I’ll try to convert them tonight and upload them as jpegs tomorrow.

We feel as proud as Sif and Thor, though the proudest of all is Selmar, whose camper van is only 10 meters from Sif’s nesting place. He’s been fiercely protecting her all month (he’s decided to live in his camper because Diesel doesn’t like climbing the stairs to the bedrooms in the chateau!).

This feels like the dawn of a new era at Lalande!!! 🦚🏰🦚
