what a genius idea for the radiator covers!!! so innovative and the cloth is so chateau-esque!

Greetings from Ireland xxx

Survey Monkey is how we vote on things at work x

Anonymous

I’ve never clicked so fast for a video! So excited! Almost 16k!! 🥰🏰❤️

Anonymous

Yes, I've used Survey Monkey many times for my sailing Club. Works great and is very quick and easy to learn. Comments can easily be allowed.

Anonymous

What a treat to wake up to this

Anonymous

I LOVE the idea of a lush pampering kit for the loo, mabey we should find a vintage jewlery box from Emmaus and juice it up with some glittery makeup and vintage Chanel xx

Anonymous

Hahaha! Good point Stephanie about the names on the slabs!! Although it might be a good plotline for the Murder Mystery book set in LaLande! 😉

Anonymous

Once you have a final quote for the terrace, could you set up a gofundme page for it to keep track of all the names? Then we can see how quickly we can collectively achieve that goal!

Anonymous

Ask Batman what should be done to house those bats.

Anonymous

Try Survey monkey for survey.

It’s a wonderful team at Lalande ! This group of Patreons was meant to be...eventually we will look back at all the big and small projects, how wonderful!! Stephanie, I loved Helen’s story, is there a way we can print it or is This a book project for you & Helen? Thank you for all the joy you bring! Sushi for elusive Nic ! 🍣 And a clean & beautiful courtyard fountain ⛲️ that Michael Potts will no longer be allowed to swim in once finished! Although, I think he was cleaning it that one day! 😂 Also Stephanie you will have to redo your YouTube introduction video once the courtyard & gravel are done & Terrace! So wonderful! xx 🏰❤️

Anonymous

Have a sushi making night. Easy Peasy. Buy the supplies.

Anonymous

Yes a go fund me for the slabs. Hopefully will raise enough to maybe have the garden steps checked. Can't wait to see things finished. How is the irrigation system coming on?

Anonymous

I love surprises. I wonder what the secret project is! It was so nice to meet Tomas today in the vlog and see his incredible laundry room progress! We hadn’t even had a chance to set it as a target yet 🤣. Nati also deserves several gold stars for her invisible progress on the admin side 🌟🤩⭐️.

Anonymous

This was one of my favourite chats! I feel completely invigorated by all the activity at LaLande and, even in our chilly New Zealand winter, I am starting to dream of doors flung open to embrace the sunshine and outdoor picnics... You are absolutely right that a change of perspective can open a world of beautiful opportunities. I've been wondering if you ever go into the chapel alone to sing? It must be quite magical to be in there alone... especially at dawn.

Anonymous

So pleased to hear of the progress being made with structural issues and the loo, that will be a blessing. Stephanie do you know a potter who could make some tiles for you to have your patreon names stamped into them. That could make an interesting project and would stand separate from the actual terrace , lots of possibilities with that idea.

Anonymous

Two thoughts on the radiators, if you cover them the way you suggested. 1) the shelf above them could be fixed, with a foil/reflective surface underneath. This will hold some of the heat at ground level and push it into the room, rather then it floating up to the ceiling. 2) rather then removing the fabric in the winter months, make them into mini curtains. Fix a rail or cored the the shelf and then You just have to pull the fabric back letting it remain at the sides of the radiator.

Anonymous

oh i wonder what the surprise room is!! a floristry room for marie? michael potts/david’s outdoor gym? so many options

Anonymous

Such exciting news! I do love a mystery surprise, can't wait to find out what marvelous project you tackled! Much love to all at LaLande!!

Anonymous

I had an idea whilst watching you and Selmar discussing the downstairs loo. In future if we are voting on different projects, I think it would be marvelous and potentially hilarious if each project could be presented by a Lalander who would argue for it and go over its various merits and challenges. Each project could get say three minutes, and we'd understand better what was involved and all the whys and wherefores! Excellent vlog material, if I do say so myself. :-)

Anonymous

Thought on the terrace! Totally understand not wanting the tombstone look for the terrace, but if some or all the slabs were sponsored/funded, each could have one persons name or family name placed on it. I.E Shaun Jeffrey UK Or Jeffrey family Uk Need only be 1”x12” and placed in the top left/right corner.....

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie for your updates. It makes me feel I'm a part of the Chateau's renovations. Isalbelle answered one of my questions. It was such a treat to hear directly from her. It l looks like Texas may be getting back to lockdown. People are not being safe for themselves or others. Trying times. Haven't been able to see my grandchildren in Dallas since Christmas.

Anonymous

Oh Stephanie, what wonderful things are happening at LaLande. It truly makes me smile and brings so much joy in these times. Your vision is remarkable and the team now at LaLande is thrilling to watch. I would like to know your thought process in choosing wallpapers. They are spectacular in the chateau and how you choose especially in regards to scale, color, pattern. Thank you for being you! Looking forward to the mystery project. I also whole heartedly agree with Cheryl about the fundraiser for the terrace - I’m in!

Anonymous

Allô Just a tought, did you ever think about a door surround in stone or concrete for the back and front door?they are verry fetching and not too expensive .If you opt for concrete they are already molded and cost less .,and in the blue prints we can see that originaly they were planed,it would be lovely and make a bag impact.

Anonymous

This video was such fun! I am looking forward to all the changes and updates. Stephanie your hair looks fabulous!

Jana Miranda

I've been keeping track of the fund-raising for the church in Vic on the French patrimonie website. Thank you for donating on our behalf; I donated a bit extra on my own. I absolutely love religious art and the reverence with which it was originally created.

Anonymous

I’m so excited about nesting the goal for gravel in the courtyard ! There is just something so French and classic about the sound of pea gravel beneath the tires as you drive into an estate. From my first Chateau vlog I have wished for gravel!

Anonymous

Yes! I was just thinking while you were talking of the wallpaper (and checked out the Papier de Paris collections) how sitting on the loo and gazing into a fabulous landscape would be perfect. So I vote for a panorama!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie. The comment about people doing things to make their lives and houses nicer really resonated with me. I am a quilter and a group of friends and i are making a “what i am thankful for during covid” quilt. Each person is making a block to contribute. As an example, i am making a block whose name is based on mothers. This is because my mom taught me how to knit and sew. Without my knitting and sewing i think i would gave gone batty during the last three months. I lost her several years ago at age 93 and i still miss her “advice “ on my projects. Everyone will make enough copies of their block so all participants get one and when when we can all meet again , we can see how we put the blocks together for each person’s quilt.

Anonymous

The church at Vic would definitely get more funds if we could manage to navigate their website and payment. Even with translation, there was other international things like tax addresses (?) that I didn't know how to fill out. And unfortunately not all of us were present that day to send superchats, so there was a lot of potential missing there.

Anonymous

Working with a great team of people really does make a world of difference, and you have assembled the very best, Stephanie. When I think back on that day in your vlog that Selmar arrived, and how uncertain everything seemed all those weeks ago, who would have guessed this stranger in a camper would become such a perfect addition to your team at Lalande. Do you think you could do something nice for him on your patrons' behalf? We know so little about him, I think it would be wonderful if you could give us suggestions on how we could show our appreciation for his contribution to Lalande and your vlogs and let us vote on that, and then you could post his surprise here on Patreon first? It would be nice to let him know how grateful we are to have him on this journey.

Anonymous

You can get extra stone for the edging around the new pool too!

Anonymous

This isn't terribly important, but I wanted to leave a quick tip for you regarding the big fireplace in the main hall. I noticed it has soot stains in your vlogs. Fireplaces are so wonderful to have, but the soot can be such a pain to deal with. Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom cleaner is great for lifting that soot off the stone surround, and it doesn't make a drippy mess on the floor. You may have to go at it a couple times, but it usually does the trick, and you'll have a beautiful fireplace to admire all summer long, until you need to fire it up again. XX

Anonymous

I hope you do something amazing with the ceiling. Since a significant portion of the time that is spent in that room will sitting possibly looking up. I would love to come a paint it for you.

Anonymous

Yes, I am amaced over all the work thats being done. It so inspiring! ♥️

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, I have a suggestion for a quick win project that you could do. I've noticed some of the doorways through the enfilade rooms are missing trim. Like the dining room doorway leading to the entrance hall. It would be a simple way to add architectural detail and replace the sharp modern edges that are not in keeping with the style of the rooms. You could also set a goal for getting a chandelier for the dining room or any other lighting needs. I think it would be a good idea when you pave the terrace to extend it or make a walkway to the kitchen door.

Anonymous

Dear Stephanie what a joy to see all the projects and hive of activity at Lalande! I am very happy to see Isabelle more relaxed and envigorated for the future. Please thank mum for sharing her gardening knowlegde-so interesting (l need to grow some onions) hugs merry

Anonymous

I so agree with you! It will lift the Chateau so much. One of my first jobs as volunteers at Lalande was to weed out the whole courtyard. Took me days to finish and it looked nice for a month or two! Haha! I can’t tell you how excited I am for a new gravel to be put in. I also think the peacock will look pretty ideallic when he is wondering around there as well. Xx

Anonymous

The church at Vic was enthralling and yes, actually had to put you on pause to go to their site and donate lol

Anonymous

WOW! There is so much going on at the château. This was my first Q&A - I am in awe of everything that is happening. For me it is very exciting to be part of this - to see history being preserved and appreciated by so many people.. Thank you!!

Anonymous

Can I make a suggestion for another target? I was taken away by your beautiful description of how the tennis court / spa / swimming pool / yoga room area could look and I know that many of the guests and residents would love to enjoy this wonderful area. Could you possibly make a start with creating a design of this area and also begin to make the tennis court functional again. It was so sad to see it in the current state. It would be so lovely to see a vlog with you all having a tournament with Stephanie as umpire! It could be such a lovely addition to the Chateau xx

Anonymous

As a vlogger with a large international following, you should be able to get your wallpaper donated as a form of advertisement for the company that sells it.

Anonymous

I loved hearing Nick and Michaels reaction to the Patreon success ..... Really looking forward to seeing all the projects as they progress ☺️💕

Anonymous

Hey Steph. I am sure a huge part of your cold problem is cold coming up from the cellar. If you hang a curtain inside the door at the top of the staircase tucking it hard up against the walls it will cut the cold out tremendously.

Anonymous

It is really a joy to watch all the progress being made. And so nice that Marie is coming back. I think some of these fabric companies only sell to professional interior designers. I had problems with that in NY. Anyway your vlogs are such a great help during this time and I love the way you make us all feel a part of it. Merci.

Anonymous

Lovely to see so much progress so quickly!

Anonymous

I truly enjoyed the vlog and the Q&A today. It's so wonderful to see such positive changes happening at Lalande. I love how the dynamic changes with addition of new friends at the chateau. I'm sure you're excited to have your lovely home become a hive of activity as guests start to arrive for the summer season...but I'm sure you also enjoyed your quiet time to have some rest and devote yourself to your vlogs and turning dreams into reality.

Anonymous

I personally wouldn't mind if some money went toward some clothing for Thomas. I feel so bad for him loosing his clothes.. or if there is another way we could contribute. Please let us know.

Anonymous

maybe a time capsule placed under the pavers with all our names :)

Anonymous

I agree, please take Tomaz shopping !

Anonymous

Always get a few quotes. I had to have some tree trimming done and prices varied by hundreds of dollars between 3 companies I checked. I got a price of 1/3 rd the first bid.

Anonymous

Oh how wonderfull waking up and there is a patrion message! What a tread...and i am do glad that a lot of small tasks are incorperated, so seeing the procres is important. And a secret at top off it! What will it be....exiting news. And the idea for the covering of the heating is splended, I send you a pakkage and maybe you can use it in these projects. Thank you for starting my day❤

Anonymous

Its always a minimum of 3 quotes after 5 - its just an exercise in... frustration 🤣🤣 OKAY!! So... can we please please please put a proper backsplash behind your gorgeous la Cornue? With all of the cooking- a proper backsplash is really needed. Surely by now a frech tile company will comp you those? I cant believe that they havent cottoned on to what an amazing audience you have (if i do say so myself 🤣🤣🤣🤣) Can this be one of the next goals?🙏🙏🙏 begging you!! Also , i hate to be the party pooper here, but you truly are in need of a proper side by side, built-in fridge.... not the super cute tiny vintage-y one you have. I love it - but to be able to feed the kind of crew you are going to have around.... the vilunteers, tye ENTIRE family La Lande PLUS their families.... PLUS B&B gang.... and everyone is going to WANT everyone around..... you are going to need something sizeable something like a 36" one ALL fridge and one 36" ALL freezer.... a big built in whole thing 😳 Maybe it can go into the room Next to the kitchen? and at the same time you can put in some lovely shelves and some more display?? and then put some display where the vintage looking fridge is? or a tall wine fridge there?(an all bolly fridge??) By summer 2021.... if your "real" fridge and freezer are down the hall.... well..... someone is going to be getting their 10,000 steps in every day🤣🤣... oh.... and some sort of chilled water dispenser.... the Americans- you know how we are about our chilly water and our tons of ice... and as soon as any country will let us back in.... we are all bursting at the seams to get out! Lastly..... the stone work in the original drawings around the entrance door🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🤩🤩🤩🤩🙏🙏🙏🙏 even if you say mai non!! throw us a bone and say "the 35k mark" 😜 at least then we will have hope....🙏🙏🙏🥂

Anonymous

I think somewhere EXPOSED though right? a plaque or something?

Anonymous

Oh and I just went back and watched the artists of La Lande episode.... ok... well.... so one out building really NEEDS to be a tiny shop and you need one on-line as well. Calendars, books, limited edition prints, ORIGINAL PHOTOS and ART WORKS, an outlet for commissions, any partnerships you have with french companies (like WHY OH WHY have they not tapped into the amazingness that is la-lande!) beeswax candles from your bees with special scents from La Lande like "rose garden", "moonlight garden" , "La Lande after the storm", "La Lande on A spring morning" - Yiu get the gist😜 of course locally made goods and cheeses, Jams from your fruits, pottery, all kinds of things French! BOOKS by local authors and famous La Lande guests etc.... but the art.... the art!! .... i mean.... dear lord.... the art.... the shop woukd be a jewel box of a gallery.... and at least one room of La Lande should have a rotating exhibit of art for sale. ok.... Ive been bossy enough for today! nite!! 🤩🤣🌸

Thanks Stephanie you are doing it great job with Mummy long may her energy keeps going she is one great woman. Great energy in the Chateau at the moment. The chapel is the project I am waiting to see finished so I will leave my vote to yourself to do what you think best for the next project. Thanks again you are part of my life at the moment and in the future.

Keep up the good work and god bless and stay safe. Greetings from Ireland. 💚

Anonymous

No, no no! Let’s give Mr. Potts a proper and nice place to stay. He is part of the family and it was kind of him letting his apartment for rent. And good business.

Anonymous

fantastic idea for the radiators Stephanie. x

Anonymous

I never thought I would get excited about a laundry room and a toilet! I can’t wait to see the outcomes. xx

Anonymous

I agree with an earlier post, do something to treat Selmar ! He has been an amazing help . I have also been looking at michael Potts website ,absolutely beautiful photography, why are there no examples on display in his apartment? It would be so nice to see some of his work . Great to see the laundry room being sorted out , I had no idea how grim it was! Also I have watched the Zuber company mini video on how they make there wallpaper absolutely amazing , I see why you would want it in the loo! I want it too!

Anonymous

Stephanie, you spoke of using the rose petals in one video. Perhaps you could do this, as my own mother does: Pick roses Remove all petals Lay them in a thin layer on flat wicker baskets (or similar) Place in a warm shady spot inside your house Turn every week or so until dry You can also add drops of essential oil, and boom: Lalande potpourri! 🥳

Anonymous

can i ask wat do u do with all the cards n letters u get from people with gifts etc... could u do a display on a wall somwhere..like a large lovely fabric and binding covered pinboard to keep adding to.. I was going to say the downstairs loo but I don't think it's big enough.. how about the wall on corridor by the loo... people could stop n look at them and read them... we will alays be around then xx lots of love tx

Anonymous

Stephanie could you perhaps help them to set up an English language gofund me page?

Anonymous

I’m really conflicted on this because anything that saves money without compromising quality is of course great, but one of the many things I really really enjoy about the channel, and that I think helps make it so different, is that it’s been so free of promotion and commercialism; and being able to see and feel the experience that its the investment and enthusiasm of the patrons that’s helping Stephanie, Nic and Michael to make so much positive change happen now.

Anonymous

A time capsule yes, but not just with names but with something to tell the story of the renovations so far and how they came to be.

Anonymous

Yes I agree some of Michael’s photos in Michael’s ex-apartment would look great, and being more contemporarily designed they wouldn’t look out of place.

Anonymous

I think that the technical word is 'upsidedowning' !

Anonymous

Hello Stephanie. I was wondering if you had any plans to visually enhance the courtyard aspect of the chateau after the flowerbeds and gravel are done? Is the rendering in good enough condition to jet wash? Maybe to repaint the shutters in a single colour?

Anonymous

For a project to start; you told us in a video about the walls near you bedroom and the corridor...I hope maybe Selmar can knock it down and you deffenitly deserve this Stephanie and do this before renovating your boudoir ❤

Anonymous

Loved this Q&A session. I think the idea of a 'go fund' me page for the terrace is a great idea. The joy this 'family' bring to lots of us is phenomenal. X

Anonymous

Oh I so agree on getting a bigger fridge Shannon! Its a challenge to store a lot of food when when there is a lot of cooking in the house. Hehe xx

Anonymous

What lovely ideas Shannon! And the names of the candles...brillant🥰A little gift shoppe would be super!

Anonymous

I love this idea for Selmar too. Putting aside some funds for Selmar to do something special just for him & Diesel 🐶😎( from Hope Grable’s idea above)

Anonymous

Once again Stephanie you seem to have found special people to join your team, Thomas looks to be a great addition. Can I ask have he and Nattie come to Lalande after completing quarantine or are your restrictions completely relaxed now? Really looking forward to seeing the updated laundry room and downstairs loo 😝

Anonymous

Enjoyed listening to your updates Stephanie. My only thought is would there be a shelf for the Sudoku book and pen and the Agatha Christie novels In the downstairs looo?

Anonymous

I love Thomas already, the minute he hugged the shutters I was in love lol and so calm about being mugged in Paris!! we should start a go fund me for thomas's clothes lol x

Anonymous

I hope they never leave, they made this period of lockdown so special x

Anonymous

Please set a goal to get heating in the winter. With all of us here, you should not have to go through another cold winter at Lalande. Thank you for letting us be a part of it all.

Anonymous

How about getting a small vlog now and again from those around you, their perspective why they came their journey there what they do etc. It feels so good with Nati coming back, Selmar, Dan, Marie on her way and now Tomasz they all are so very talented along with you and Mummy Lalande is certainly such a happy place. You also have the Ian’s and Mary Poppins all these lovely people. Who asks them to do things? or do they just get on with it they all have such good ideas. The vlogs are joyful and uplifting 🍾 Just makes my days. 💕🥂

Anonymous

Bonjour, Stephanie ! Just wondering how much French you & your mother speak when by yourselves? I know you’re both bilingual.... Personally, I would enjoy hearing you & Isabelle speak conversational French.!! - What about Percy and French?? Also, when do you expect him back at La Lande? Thanks so much for your thank you note! Impressive that you’re writing each patron!! You will always have tons of friends by doing so!! Til next time, kate in Kentucky (Lexington) 💙🐎❤️🌞

Anonymous

There are no international flights from S Africa yet so no date for Percy's arrival

Anonymous

Reflecting on astonishing progress, those around you and this growing community i think we should all raise a glass to Henri and his promise of help to draw people to la Lande

Anonymous

almost $16,000!!

Anonymous

Been great to see work being done in the loo and the laundry room. Its so lovely to be a part of it, even though I can't physically be there. Would love to be helping out. I'm a get on and do person. Whatever you have you make the most of! I agree that a plaque with names on of those who have been able to donate and help with the terrance renovation, should be included somewhere on the terrace. It would be a nice touch and its part of the history of the building like you say. We should all be able to see the plaque and not have it hidden, so that future generations can view it easily. Possibly even my grandchildren or even great-grandchildren. Enjoyed your update vlog and I look forward to hearing from you as I sent you a message. xx

Anonymous

Love what you said at the end about changing your life for the better just by seeing things differently, thinking laterally. I had a eureka moment in my early twenties when I discovered that just by thinking differently I could in fact change my actual reality. Since then I have created my reality rather than waiting for it to just fall in my lap. One can choose happiness and positivity rather than think how you feel depends on outside factors. And the little things in life definitely are sources of happiness. It does not have to cost a lot, you are quite right. I love drinking sparkling water of my crystal champagne bowls! I collect stones for my garden (some very heavy ones too, great exercise) and they are free (hurrah!) and look fab around beds, as paved areas, and just ornamental. Anyway, talking about this makes me want to go outside, so I shall! Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Anonymous

I'm so excited to see the Loo. I know you will transform it into a functional, beautiful place to not only do your business but, do touch ups and enjoy your stay!!

Anonymous

Hi, so I got a question, well several because I love the community, is there anyone else from El Salvador here or any Central American Country? also is anyone an equestrian? I love love love the chateau and I am so happy that I get to help something that stays onto history despite the fact that we are here in life living and loving for just a while, the chateau and its beautiful home/heart continues on with our help <3

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie it was so good to hear all your news about what’s going on at La Lande. It must be so exciting for you all to now have the momenton to start all your jobs. So looking forward to seeing the before and after photos of your Loo, thank you Selmar for doing the work. Love from the Dordogne xx

Anonymous

Just keep on doing what you are so good at and to let you know that it’s great to have a large family to encourage and support. Bon Chance and Bon Courage. Xx Love from the Dordogne xx

Anonymous

they have heating - its just geothermal so its not rip roaring hot. Although for course.... now im thinking about AC - ductless AC anyone?

Anonymous

Almost to $16K!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous

I think he is right though- they need places to turn into separate self contained areas so they can rent it out. the areas in the attic are LOVELY and just like everything - every inch needs to be made use of and needs to help pay for itself 😊 But we DO need to sell his work at the chateau and on a website (a proper website)

Anonymous

Ok so I think the go funding suggestion for terrace slabs is great, gifts for Selmar, clothes for Thomas ....a bigger fridge....nice area for Marie’s flower arranging .... in fact anything & everything seems great to me! As you say Stephanie you have a great ‘equipe’ & that includes your Patrons too I think xx

Anonymous

Is anyone in Stephanie's Patreons (or do you know anyone) who would be willing to work on her website- not that she has actually ASKED for this mind you - but.... if anyone has looked at it... and It needs to have the room to expand to include the shop she ALSO has not asked for... but I still think would be a great idea... still... take a peek and ask around😊🤞🙏🥂

Anonymous

Oh & I forgot to say ... I too love beautiful china & crockery & think it enhances the enjoyment of the meal .... my motto is “why use one when twenty will do” ....I think that is your motto too 😀🙃xx

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie and family, I’ve just joined Patreon and so happy to be part of the Lalande family. I’ve watched your vlogs from the beginning. You have inspired me to be more patient and enjoy renovating my own home. I have acquired a new love of art collecting and got back into furniture upcycling because of your inspirational vlogs. I can’t wait to see the future of Lalande unfold into an even more beautiful place than it already is. Lots of love Judy xx

Anonymous

I need to know which icon to click on at the church website.....I can understand/speak a little French but want to make sure I am doing it correctly! Thank you! Love your vlogs! My only thing to look forward to at the moment....still trying to figure out what to do with my life....after losing my parents and a close uncle in thirteen months ..... and lockdown....so grateful to have found your amazing videos and your family and friends! Very lonely here in Vermont and you all never fail to bring joy into my life ❤️

Evelyn McElroy

Diane, So very sorry for all of your difficult losses. I think Stephanie and crew have helped a lot of us through the lockdown; I think/hope they know how important they are to so many. I hope life brightens for you very soon.

Anonymous

Im so sorry for your losses. I will say a good dose of La Lande is good for picking one up from the blues. There is a setting in google which will automatically!!🤩🤩🤩😁 translate from ANY language on ANY website into english - i cant remember HOW i did it.... i onky remember that now i did indeed do it and now it translates it for me wherever i go!😁

Anonymous

Hi all! What is the Facebook Group name?

Anonymous

Oh... ok... so i lied... THIS is the last thing 😜 when you are working on the rooms/apartments - and i realize this will be a much longer term goal - but can you please make one as disabled accessible as possible. I know everything is very ancient but perhaps when doing an out-building its something you can think about? A few years ago we had a trip planned for Paris and Normandy and a few weeks before i severed my Achilles and had surgery on it to reattach it. While i could stagger about, there was always so much walking that when i was in a museum there were times when i was just better for me to be in a wheelchair to give my leg a chance to heal (truth be told i was supposed to be off of it 100%) But EVERYWHERE we went.... stairs/no access... it was just really hard. Now i could get up and stagger down a few stairs - many around me could not. Here in the States we are so used to ADA laws and accessibility - it was disheartening to not be able to go places because I couldnt get around. I would hate for someone to look at a dream of coming to La Lande and then realize there is no possible way telhey could. Again, I knownthis is way off in the distance- but just an idea. 😊❤🤞

Anonymous

Its a great idea but i think the way they have incorporated them into everyday life is really amazing❤❤❤

Exciting to see projects happening indoors and outside in the garden. Selmar continues to amaze me with his knowledge and patience with details. Thank you for the vlogs about your friends, family and the continued joy you bring to my life!

Denise Behrends

QUESTION: Regarding Mary Poppins & Her Dusting/Cleaning Routines Would it be possible to create a vlog [or series of vlogs] of Mary Poppins showing how she dusts/cleans the various indoor rooms of the chateau? You could film her while she works, asking her questions and eliciting her tips and techniques. This would be especially appreciated while she is dusting your many collections of precious and fragile objects [such as your Spode porcelain on the kitchen shelves / the items on your bedroom fireplace mantle, etc.—any areas in the chateau with many items covering a surface—those areas that reflect what many of us would perhaps consider a bit daunting to maintain properly with the amount of time involved when one loves beautiful objects]. You once mentioned that she dusts/cleans the chateau just a few hours a week—Was it 4 hours per week? How does she rotate the various projects and rooms? Are there areas she dusts/cleans every week and others less often? Does she clear all the surfaces each time or does she “touch up” the dusting most weeks? Overall, what are her routines and tasks? I believe you could do a delightful “Clean the Chateau with Mary Poppins” series of vlogs that you could add to periodically. The “Clean With Me” style videos are quite popular on various YouTube channels, as they are motivating to watch before approaching one’s own chores. Even just one vlog on this topic would be very inspirational. What a joy it would be to not only continue to glean decorative and lifestyle ideas from our Chatelaine Stephanie, but to also dust/clean our homes in the Lalande style. If Mary Poppins can maintain a grand chateau, imagine the inspiration she would provide for the rest of us as we care for our homes!

Stephanie you melted my heart ❤ when you talked about preserving & protecting the bats ❤🦇!!! Not every chatelaine would even consider this act of kindness to our fragile endangered animals. This just makes me love you even more ❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤!!! Je vous aime xx.

Would love to see more book shelves for the library and also having the servants quarters done someday. Also Scotmans room. That would be so amazing.

We have rare bat colonies in New Zealand that are only the size of your thumb and are endangered. Although we know roughly where they are, our conservation department keeps their exact location a secret. We have very few native animals in New Zealand but lots of native birds.

We're at $16,000 officially! How exciting! Time to bring out the Bollinger!

WOOOHOO!!!

ok.. I mean i know we ACTUALLY have to wait until juky 1st to REALLY understand where we REALLY are but still.... we will be close.... so that means if we can get about another few hundred we should be ok🙏🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Hooray! We reached 16k! And on my actual birthday too! So exciting.

Happy Birthday David. Hope you’re having a great day!

Hi Ana, I am not from Central America, but my husband is from Costa Rica. I have been there a couple of times and love it. I have always been a little scared of horses but finally went riding through the jungle last time I was in Costa Rica and really enjoyed it! My horse was called Napoleon and was very well behaved! 😁

Wow 16k what a surprise! Get busy Stephanie & co 😜😜😜This is joyous news👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🌸🥰

Happy Birthday 🎂 David🎉

Amazing , you’ve reached 16000

I would love to know what kind of bats you have in your attic and roughly how many. Bringing back the lake will probably have a positive impact on them too as it will attract even more insect life. It will be magical to watch them skimming the water at dusk.

Have I missed when we think Percy will be able to come back for their reunion? Or is the plan for Mummy to go back to South Africa (can we vote on that? I think its all obvious what we would vote for!)

Congratulations on reaching $16,000. How exciting.

Totally random question - I’ve just come across the video - A Walk through Chateau de Lalande again, created by Milldaz - such clever filming, or do I mean editing! It seems like you will meet Alice or the Mad Hatter around every corner. Is this your friend David? Like everyone I was so pleased to see you have reached another target- more and more possibilities but as you said last night you and your mother can only cope with maximum three big projects - don’t try to start too many things and find that you are wearing yourselves out. Renovating a chateau is obviously a marathon not a sprint. You have a plan, you have ideas, we all believe in you and once again borrowing from the Mad Hatter “Sometimes I’ve believed in as many as 6 impossible things before breakfast”. Especially now I think we all have to take care of ourselves, stay safe, strong and well. 🇦🇺💕💐

Woohoo Steph. So cool.

Stephanie, I am sooo glad that you have all these talented peeps in lalande rn and all of us your patrons. To tell you frankly, I feel that I’ll be useless in Lalande given the outpouring of talent coming your way. However, I am so much in favour of seeing you in August, September, October this year or next. The logistics of this happening I’ll leave to the lovely capable hands of my compatriots. Go go Lalanders!

Every time the laundry room is mentioned or shown I have the same thought. Did anyone else grow up with parents/grandparents using an ironrite? Do they have them, or something like them, in Europe? Two of my aunts still use them regularly, and it makes ironing faster and more enjoyable. In fact, because of it my aunt offers ironing services at their church's yearly silent auction fundraiser. If such a thing can be found (you can get them on eBay in America for not too much) I think it would make things so much easier, especially when the B&B is up and running again. Maybe a future "quick win" goal?

I love watching bats fly at night......there is something magical about their flight!

Why has the 16K target gone down to under 15k

Anonymous

What time of milk do you use for your tea?

Anonymous

Hello Diane, only a guess but maybe a patron has adjusted or cancelled their tier level ahead of the 1st of the month charge date?

New patron here from the Philippines! ^_^ I'm so happy to have discovered your vlog Stephanie! It's such a ray of sunshine and breath of fresh air every time. I look forward to your vlogs more than Netflix! I love your enthusiasm in life and passion for everything beautiful! I too feel the same and I feel like we are gonna be good friends haha! I also had the most amazing experiences through Workaway when I backpacked for 1.5 years and I hope to volunteer at Lalande someday, when I can get a Schengen visa. Cheers from the sunny islands! xx

I saw there are new baby peahens!!! Selmar posted them. So exciting! Thor is a father! 🥰🦚💕💕

Hi Stephanie! It would be very interesting to hear about the time you were completely alone there. What the days were like, how you spent your time, what the longest period was without seeing a single person, all alone in the chateau. The way Lalande is so lively and buzzing now, it would be very interesting to hear about the, well, silent years too. Hugs and best wishes!

A "mangler" for the laundry room!

Anonymous

yes - someone gave up their "dauphin/dauphine" status - thats why it went down - when I checked yesterday only 2 were left now there are 3 left. I guess someone adjusted before the end of the month.

Anonymous

How exciting Stephanie we are all thrilled for you 👏👏

Anonymous

So sweet! A ground floor bed/bath for Selmar and Diesel would be a wonderful addition to the project list.

You have made my first Patreon experience very engaging and exciting. It has been wonderful. You really make me feel a part of this journey.

The postage from the US to France would be absolutely unbelievable, we need to find one in England.

Anonymous

I'm excited to see the laundry room and bathroom makeover.

Anonymous

Great plans! Suggest the laundry room be equipped with a modern washer and dryer so clothes don’t have to be hung out especially in winter.

Anonymous

Line dried linens are divine. I hope that she doesnt do that to the linens.

Anonymous

I really like the idea of names on the stone slabs - that is what The Globe Theatre in London does for its patrons :-) x

Anonymous

What a great post Stephanie. Can't wait to see what we will be voting on. I agree that you have a lot of big projects going on simultaneously and we should focus on some goals that can be achieved quite quickly. Great synergy you have going on there!

Anonymous

Love your new hair 💙😍😻love charlie moon

Anonymous

We need the recipe for potatoe pie!

Anonymous

I know it is still summer but I was wondering what will be the major works in the winter months, it must be so exciting picking all the projects?

Anonymous

Loveliness enjoyed

Can you perhaps do a survey such as “Survey Monkey”? It will allow patrons to leave comments and you could perhaps have a few selections of goals You want to tackle set up as multiple choice. Then everyone just completes the survey and you should get results very quickly. Xx

Anonymous

Names on stones, but underneath 👍 not only does it avoid a lalande cemetery look, its more in keeping with how past craftsmen would have done it, what you have planned for the panels, and if anyone does ever do work on them in the future it will be an amazing surprise for them as well! ❤️💕

I think it is an amazing talent that you have to make everyone feel apart of your Chateaux. Your personality is so positive that people are drawn to you and feel the warmth you convey. Your openness means that people just want to help you get your home renovated but you're making people feel that they are a part of it with you. Thank you for all of your vlogs over lockdown, it really has kept me going. May I remind you I am from the home of Spode, I can pick things up for you from the factory shop. If you ever visit we would welcome you to our home to stay. Thank you for all of your efforts xx

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, I've just watched this Q&A & sent you a private email asking for information on the products you'd like, I will certainly try to do my best to obtain what you need fabric/paper/panels/trims, etc, cheers Debbie

I love progress videos of renovations

Anna Ibarra

Love so much the progress of LALande and how you are running it all. Love that you allow Mummy her voice and respect her kindly. You will go far. Where will you use all those photos of the pigeons you acquire from the French designer? I love them and can’t wait for you to frame them up.

Anna Ibarra

I too also wander how she managed those days. As many today are feeling so isolated and a bit of inspiration would be wonderful yo hear. But it’s amazing how you manage to stay positive and didn’t allow yourself to get so alone and bleak. You must have a great sense of your Fathers positive attitude on life. This would be a wonderful Sunday vlog. I love to see all the vlogs. I had always loved the unboxing of gifts from all over as you started, well when I started back in March.

Check out Little Greene Wallpapers too ! for the downstairs loo.

I love that you care about looking after the 🦇 bats also.🙂

Vive Lalande! So exciting to watch all the developments unfold!

Lovely to see these plans xx lovely to see there was a grand entrance to the Chateau albeit at the right hand side xx that is what is missing I was thinking the other day. Maybe you could put a grand entrance doorway in the middle of the building into the now entrance salon from the lovely upgraded main courtyard. Just a thought xx
