Hi Stephanie Congrats on reaching your goals!

Anonymous

Mummy should do a chapter called, "Of course I don't cook!"

Anonymous

Make your own Sushi. It is lots of fun to do.

Anonymous

Soooooo thrilled for you, Stephanie!! When I joined there were very few of us, but look what you've accomplished!! It's STUNNING!! I do hope you celebrate this accomplishment with Mummy!! I can't wait to see her new mower!! Much love!!

Anonymous

When the old mill is redone!! Which we all know will be VERY soon. 😉

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, how fantastic that people are being so generous that the targets are being hit so quickly! It is a pleasure to see your enthusiasm and restoration vision become reality. Thank you for making the vlogs, you make them so interesting to watch and it’s great to have an update from LaLande. Bring on the next target!! #kindness

Anonymous

Please remind Marie and Antoine that we need the recipe for the 'everyday cake' that they made in the skillet !!

Anonymous

Can we add a balcony for Mummy to one of the targets? 😂❤️

Anonymous

That was intoxicating......the stories, the way you tell your stories, the energy.....the pure joy....never lose that.. it is such a special gift. The news on targets reminded me of a question I think I posted by not sure..... Is it possible for Patreons to have a monthly update on running total (as obviously the total here is each month and add in superchats) and how that has been spent....NOT to keep an eye on you lol....but so we can see over time what we are creating together as I for one find it exciting to see how our little projects grow and its fine at the moment but 6 months down the track we might forget what we did? P.S I think one target should be a choice of what your mum thinks (she has to put her case) and one that you think (put passionately) and we get to choose!

Anonymous

I would like to ask Isabelle , how do you pronounce “ Noilly Prat” svp ?

Anonymous

✨Hip hip hooray🥰So exciting to hear this news✨I’m so happy to see more and more patrons each day🌞

Anonymous

It is my 39th birthday today and I told my husband that I want to be at Lalande for my 40th next year. He promised me that we will do so. It is fantastic to know that our contributions have such a positive impact and help you so much. Thank you Stephanie for all you do. You are a really inspiring soul.

Anonymous

Hi congratulations on hit this time target. Also thank you for my post card I received this on Tuesday, the envelope smelt beautiful and the photograph of the chateau is gorgeous. I will be looking to buy a lovely photo frame so I can have it on display so everyone can enjoy looking at it as much I will be. Looking forward to more recipes from you will be making the apple cake as soon as I can get hold of flour as here in the UK all my local shops have been out of stock. Xx

Anonymous

Hi, it's pronounced nwyee pratt , hard to find the right phonetics !

Anonymous

Another absolutely lovely vlog💗💗 It is great getting to know you and share in the incredible joy that radiates from you. I love the fact that you have found someone who is as passionate about accounting as you are about the chateau. He sounds like the perfect fit!!!

Anonymous

The new version of Selmar’s apple cake Is gorgeous! Thanks Cheryl !

Anonymous

Oooohhhh!!! Very nice design. Maybe she can help you with the cookbook design!!😂🤣

When I was jsut a few weeks into my arrival in France in 1978 I was invited by my employer to his country home in the South on holiday as I didn't know that France 'closed' in August ! On our way I saw a small chateau in a field and I declared ' regardez un chatouille' !! Meaning 'look a tickle'! My boss almost ran into a tree he laughed so much and I had no idea why! I honestly thought that chatouille meant small chateau ! It wasn't my last faux pas !

Anonymous

23:53 of the video... have we spotted the elusive Nic finally?! Or was Selmar just having a smoother hair day? Hard to say.

Anonymous

This is all so exciting. I too check the YouTube subscribers and the Patreon supporters and get giddy with all the wonderful people who are assisting in taking care of your beautiful Chateau and giving her the attention and love that she deserves. Knowing that you are getting the funds to do all the work is so rewarding for me and for others as well. Seeing your excitement and hearing your genuine heartfelt thanks is all the reward that I need. Love to you Mummy and all the family and friends at LaLande.

Anonymous

Stephanie, thank you for the birthday wishes. You are very intelligent and talented. You deserve success. Congratulations!!!!! Your vlog today was wonderful. I can't wait for you to travel again so I can live vicariously through you.

Anonymous

An idea for the fountain garden...I was in Beaune a couple of years ago and saw a delightful formal garden in the Bouchard Per et Fils grounds. It was clipped box hedges with lavender. It was simple, but stunning. I've photos, if you'd like me to email them to you.

Anonymous

Amazing news and thank you so much for these lovely videos and little gifts!

Anonymous

I thought it was Marie, it looked to me like she was looking for some phone signal 😂

Anonymous

What about consorts as the new level on patron?

Anonymous

What wonderful stories and memories you have of summers with your grandmother. Thank you so much for the glimpse into your childhood. I absolutely agree that your parents gave you such a gift by making you an accomplished traveller at a young age. They opened the world to you.

Anonymous

Are there any particular countries that you would love to visit? Have you been to the antipodes? :)

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie, so lovely to be a patron and feel your excitement that we all collectively are helping in the restoration of the Chateau. New Zealand is such a young county, no Ancient historical Castles to restore, never would I have thought I could be a patron of a glorious Chateau in France. A dream. Much love xo

Laura & Jack

Thank you for your stories. I, too, love hearing about others life journeys. On an airplane alone at 3...wow! We sent our 8-year old off the same way to visit a relative across the country. She seemed to take it all in stride! Looking forward to next weeks continuing Q & A session. Great idea!

Anonymous

@Tracy: She has a balcony already, it just needs to be fitted and she wants another matching one. That would be an amazing target and that way we don't have to worry about Isabel tumbling out of her window this summer. :-)

Anonymous

Another target idea is to set up a beautiful night house for your chickens and peacocks so that they are safe and warm over winter.

Anonymous

Thank you for your kind words Stephanie, and honestly, it was my pleasure! And yes, I will gladly help out in any way I can with any design needs. Beautiful and very informative vlog. Loved the story about your dad. 💖

Anonymous

How utterly fantastic. As someone who has a bit of an obsession with boxwood hedges I’m super exited that you’re going to spruce up the front courtyard’s boxwoods.

Anonymous

Do you pay taxes on this money

Anonymous

I have two questions for the next go-round. Question 1. A few times you have talked about the nearby chateau where Chopin lived with Georges Sand. Is this chateau open for tours and does it have a website? Question 2. A while back, you found a book in a store which had an article about Lalande and references to you. I tried finding the book online, on Amazon or anywhere else. I did find a reference to the book itself but couldn't find any place where it could be bought. Can it be purchased in France, or has it gone out out print?

Anonymous

Was that Nick that passed by the window behind you?

Anonymous

OMG Stephanie you read my question concerning doing a virtual vernissage with Daddy's paintings! I was in tears as you are all so precious to me ❤❤!!! Encore merci pour un superbe vlog ❤🙏!! Je vous aime 😘.

Anonymous

check this out : https://www.frenchweddingvenues.com/french-wedding-venues?search=venues&types=1

Anonymous

oh and they have wedding coordinators- you have far too much to do to coordinate a wedding😜

Anonymous

In one of your blogs you talked about the ghost of LaLande. He could not financially help you but could help send people into your life to help.

Anonymous

Is it possible to write the recipe in American measurements....cups, tablespoons, and certain ingredients are not the same name as what ours are. Castor sugar? for example. Custard powder is not familiar.

Kelly Douglas

My sister and I saw the baked Camembert in a few videos. It looked amazing and I thought we need this in our lives now! But the first order of business was to figure out what you were saying! So we both mimicked what we thought you were saying into our phones until it finally understood us! 😂 We discovered that our local supermarket sells it and are going to buy Camembert cheese asap. 😃

Janese Carstens

Hi Tait. If you look in the comments of the post, I put an amazon link to the custard powder and 2cl is the equivalent to 4 teaspoons.

Anonymous

Please consider sharing your Father’s art.....although a very personal thing for you and your mother, many would enjoy his work in a variety of medians. Prints, cards, books, fabric, wallpaper........the Christmas wrapping paper was just a start. Always a delight to hear you tell a story, wishing you much joy and success.

Anonymous

Or an apron with Mummy on it saying the above! Too perfect !!

Anonymous

Great that you welcome Patrons to help with the work. I’ll ask my son and daughter if they want to do that summer 2021. My husband and I can then visit La Lande at the end of their stay.

Anonymous

Ooh, I love the idea of a screensaver! Also, if you sell products, a tea towel with LaLonde on a toile would be so pretty...

Anonymous

Stephanie, I really have enjoyed and been inspired by your videos through this virus quarantine. I appreciate Selmar sharing his grandma's recipe.

Anonymous

You say the past few weeks have been surreal because of all the people who have gathered to help you achieve the things that you have wanted to do for so long at the chateau. Oftentimes, I come to this platform and it all seems surreal to me too, but in a different way, because it is such a joy to be in a space online that exudes so much positivity. As Patreons, we gain a lot from watching your wonderful videos, and also I’ve come to realise that like attracts like and the Patreons themselves are positive and upbeat people. The comments and helpful suggestions that follow each video are always really lovely to read.

Anonymous

How much will a pool for your guests cost? I think it will be a good edition for them not to mention for all of you. I cannot wait to see what you do for a pool party. :) Your mom is like my mom. Too much energy. No matter how much helps she gets, she will always find a way to stay busy. Being wanted and needed and being busy keep them young.

Anonymous

I love the way you’re passionately talking about the things in shops, I feel the same way and had never heard anyone talk about this before

Anonymous

Hello Stephanie! When was the first time you thought "I am going to buy and live in a chateau"? How did the dream spark? I became obsessed with chateaux at age 8. My father took me to a consulting job in a ranch in Argentina near the town of Luján and the house was a castle!!! It was the most magical moment of my life. I can´t tell you impression that left on me. If you are curious about it, please google "Castillo Naveira Lujan". It is totally private, closed to the public, owned by the same family. It was designed by Belgian arquitect Ernest Moreau, who also designed the cathedral of Luján in 1840.

Anonymous

Stephanie I just loved the way you speak of your parents and grandmother. All that they taught you has made you the wonderful lovely person that you are. I would like to see a vlog of the collection of your father's paintings, and your mother's tapestries. Also a collection of yours and Marie's recipes. It would also be good if Selmar made a vlog with tango dance steps in the form of a tutorial so we can all practice in our own homes.

Anonymous

hi Stephanie.. I love the way you speak of your childhood and your parents.. do you think Isabelle would tell us how and why she had a nursing home for those with dementia.having been a manager of similar homes i would be very interested to see if the ethos of are has changed or improved from her experience in the field.. love to you both x

Anonymous

In the video she explained that in France she'll most probably have to pay taxes on it, but still doesn't know what percent.

Anonymous

Another interesting and entertaining video!

Jana Miranda

Thank you so much for the value you add to our lives - contributions of beauty, hope, history, family and joy. I have a feeling that you'll have a very long list of applicants for workaway and lodging in the next few years as all of us are dreaming of visiting Lalande. I've already warned my husband to expect me to be gone for a whole summer once our youngest daughter enters middle school (he'll be able to find me in a chateau in central France).

Anonymous

What a wonderful (as usual) video, enjoyed hearing about your childhood travels! As patreon Abby Ogunsanya says, like attracts like, when I read the comments here I do get a feeling that the patreons are a bunch of people I would enjoy spending time with! Who knows, I may one day enjoy a spritz or G&T in the gardens of Lalande and bump into someone with a name I recognize from here :-) Then we'll take a boat out to the island in the lake & chat merrily! I promise to do the rowing, I used to row boats when I was younger. Have a lovely weekend everybody, long weekend here in Norway (ascension day) so lots of fun to be had.

Anonymous

Just saying hello to you and mummy and everybody is looking wonderful. I was wondering when you will be able to reach your target for the paneling to complete the Grand Salon,

Anonymous

I have tears in my eyes listening to your father's story Stephanie, so inspirational. I wonder if your father had some health condition caused by lack of sun and the poverty that the Eastenders suffered at that time? How amazing that he was able to turn all that around. I feel so blessed to have found you all. Marie in Brisbane (formerly from Edinburgh) 🙋‍♀️😊💕

Anonymous

Stephanie, I just set up as a patreon and I'm so excited. Have you thought about doing a blooper post? You are a great storyteller and your posts are pristine. We all might get a kick out of seeing the flubs and laughter, maybe a trip or fall into the fountain.....bloopers are the best!

Half way to 10,000!!🥳🥳🥳🥳

Anonymous

Hi from Alabama!! And congratulations l!! I am happy to be a teeny weeny part of this. Maybe my donation will pay for a flower around the fountain this month!

Anonymous

Thank you so much for your excellent and hard work. Your channel is such a pleasure. It's wonderful to see your success and be a very small part of that.

Anonymous

I look forward to hearing more about your father's artwork and seeing that future cheese shop video!

Anonymous

I think the longer videos here for patrons are a great reward :) 36 minutes! YES! :) My escapism continues. THANKS! I would like to up my patron tier once lockdown lets up a bit more. You know, watching these vlogs, it makes me think of all the large or old homes in countries around the world that can be the center of cosy communal life. It makes me think "where did all these nuclear houses come from?!" Having close friends popping up to make cake for you and loved ones half the week is the way to go. I need to figure out how to get a large place with a good piece of land.

QUESTIONS: 1) Could you please tell Michael Petherick that we would all like to see him moonlighting in another of your episodes soon? He's been spotted cavorting on Chateau Life, so is he expected at Lalande soon, too? 2) As co-owners, what do Michael Potts and Nic think of all this enormous success, and how it will affect the home and business, after all these years? Do they follow the response on YT and patreon? 3) Would you consider building out additional spaces to hold more workshops like in the old mill renovation, the nearby village, or a new eco-type peripheral build somewhere on the 60 acres? You could then justify a small maintenance team and office manager/coordinator. 4) Would you please do a workshop vlog series on curtain- and pelmet-making with the Intrepid Erin, Mr. Petherick, and the other chateau owners....? It would be nice for us viewers to learn and plus a fabulous excuse for a chateau PARTY!!! thanks! you do a great job xx

Anonymous

Stephanie we all love you & your special mum you hold her tight she is very special.

Anonymous

A long time ago there was a programme on TV called (No going back) there was a english couple bought a run down Chateau to restore to open up has a hotel have you ever come cross them i often wondered did they succeed, I can remember i sent for the book on the programme again i was smitten with the programme it was only on for 1 season.

Anonymous

I am so excited to see the $10,000 goal achieved. I love seeing a new planting project, how quickly adding plants can be transformative to a space. I've also been checking daily. I've noticed the big jumps in patrons seem to happen in the 24hours after new vlogs. It's just so exciting!

Anonymous

Maybe the elusive Nick would make an appearance once you hit $10,000!!! lol

Anonymous

Terrific idea! We could all pledge the full cost of the lake restoration , and if achieved, the donor gift would be the Elusive Nick in a monthly video! (Obviously, I completely respect his privacy and reticence to appear in videos!)

Anonymous

Your father's childhood sounds like it should be an episode on "Call the Midwife!" Interesting that he and Michael Petherick are both self-taught, right?

Anonymous

Stephanie, your squid was my rabbit! My grandmother told me it was chicken! She knew at age 10 I would not dare eat a “bunny”!! Times were tough, so when the chickens were no more my grandfather would hunt for rabbit. I remember complaining the “chicken” tasted different and she said it was because it was male. Ha! Thank goodness things turned around and I was never fed rabbit again! Unlike you it was not a favorite meal I would enjoy today. 😂💕 I love your memorable stories! Thank you for sharing! And every time I see mummy near her window with no balcony my heart beats faster! We need a balcony for mummy! 😘🏰❤️

Anonymous

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Unfortunately not all dreams come true!!!

Anonymous

Hello, Stephanie! I wonder did you ever settle on what to call the new tier you were thinking about creating? I have been a follower of yours for some time now and recently watched the episode, The Ghost of the Chateau again. In the video, you mentioned that Henri said he wanted to help with the renovations but obviously could not do so financially. Instead, he would help by drawing the right people the chateau to help that way. You recalled that shortly after the conversation with Henri; people started coming to help out of the blue. When you said this it reminded me of a saying of Fred Rogers (Mister Roger's Neighborhood) "Look for the helpers, you will always find people who are helping". So, I thought perhaps with the additional tier you might honor Henri and his helpers by naming it, Les humbles aides d' Henri or something of the sort. It really does seem like Henri is keeping his promise. Thank you, for sharing your wonderful life. -Angela

Anonymous

Having just watched your latest vlog so interesting to hear about your aspirations for The Chateau I am sure you will achieve it too. Will you add renovating the cellars or is that a difficult one due to the presence of the bats and them being protected? Do you know the full name of your mock orange blossom bush! Your mother is a real treasure and she says she doesn’t cook mmm the cake looked yummy.💕

Anonymous

I never read much books growing up but I did watch every Disney film, I know every word to every movie and Stephanie your my real life Cinderella, snow white, sleeping beauty, if only your hair was longer you really would be Rapunzel :P I love watching you and your family, your life is so interesting, your surrounded by so much history, culture, young and old, volunteers sharing so many different ideas, experiences, just so much life! Living in such a Chateau you would constantly be learning, life would be so inquisitive.. im sure there is magic around every corner, what was and what it will be, the life that lived and walked the 60 acres alone the 600, the wonder, the treasures, the things out there still hidden waiting to be found, the secrets to be told, I cant wait to see you uncover it all and be apart of it! Im so happy I've found my way to Chateau LaLande, my imagination runs wild as I watch your videos and you explain what you picture for every room, for every garden, I can see it! when you restore something just to the way they were, when your ideas for certain rooms to be brought back to life, I can it, see the people as they would of been living just the way they were... its amazing what you have been able to create for us, for the chateau and for you! Thankyou ever so much! - Taliesha, xx

Anonymous

Isabelle is simply glamorous at the French doors of the dormer! Stephanie, you are a gifted story teller. I so relate to your vivid imagination during your childhood, as I also would entertain myself for hours on end in my dream world of dolls, tea sets, and doll houses. I imagine you loved doll houses too, with your love of decorating--also a shared passion. The stories of your exotic travels are truly captivating and inspiring!

Anonymous

Which achievement will be the garden fountain with the gardener statue? $20k? 😁 That project sounds so exciting to me!

Anonymous

Received your lovely card today. Framed it immediately!

Anonymous

Hello Stephanie, so excited to see that the goals are being met. I cannot wait until I see your mother on her new John Deer. It is so much fun watching you , your family and friends. It's a bright spot in my day. Online you will see my comments as Vintagemoss. I love antiques , old books and restoration projects as well as gardening. Are you going to create a raised garden in your courtyard or any special plan or style in mind? I would love to hear yours and Isobel 's thoughts on that.

Anonymous

Ladies, you have outdone yourselves with the Sunday at the Chateau video of the visit to the gardens of the Priory of Notre Dame d´Orsan. What are the top ideas you took from the garden? I completely agree with Isabelle: you might need to consult to with garden designer to plan the landscape of la Lande. Don´t discard creating a special Go Fund me account to do this and elevating the gardens of la Lande to a "remarkable French garden" level!!!!

Anonymous

Thank you so much for the wonderful your of the gardens.. I enjoyed it so much I watched it twice.... Scary I know but I loved it.. definitely a place on my list to visit. Have a great day. Xx

Oh no it looks like todays video is missing from YouTube!!! I hope everything is ok!!!

Anonymous

I found it 😊❤

Anonymous

Stephanie I just tried to view it again on my tv and it came up saying it was now ‘age restricted’ so I refreshed - and now it’s gone altogether!

Anonymous

That is what i was thinking!!! Make sure your password is extra hard, lots of people on YouTube like to ruin channels with growing numbers

Anonymous

Good Evening Stephanie! Is there any way possible to purchase some of the CdL Honeys? I am obsessed with various Honey and your vlogs! Congratulations on all of the target achievements!🖤

Anonymous

Yes it’s back now for me too :)))

Anonymous

Stephanie!! this has nothing to do with the Video.... but i saw this dress and thought it was perfect for you!!! take a look!

Anonymous

I am really enjoying all the changes that are happening at your beautiful chateau and Selmar is doing a wonderful job x

Anonymous

Stephanie and mummy I think the name of mummy’s new mower should be “Who Did That” :))

Anonymous

Love your Zara dress! I just ordered one too!... <3

Anonymous

Oh my - what a fascinating tale about your father. Very interesting.

Anonymous

When you go to England next can you take us to the place you grew up?

Anonymous

If I was at the Chateau, you'd find me in the court yard. Such a beautiful view looking out at the field.

Ramon

So did you finish the movie?

Anonymous

I did the exact same thing with the 'chicken' for my brother. He refused to try calamari and I convinced him that it was not squid. It is the technique of champions and much more effective than you would think.

Anonymous

Your grandmother sounds like the epitome of the wonderful local shopper. We should follow her example.

Jane Nunn

WHERE? are the target? where is this recorded and how do I view it and follow it please?

Anonymous

Since you have so many lovely people volunteering and visiting from all over the world. Maybe do some kind of recipe book where they share and leave recipes at the chateau. Create some kind of book that way.

Anonymous

Awww the start of Dan the gardener and your hair stylist!
