Before everything else, I suggest everyone to stop or lower their pledges until things get stable again.

It has been a stressful moment since the storm hit us. People and pets got sick with rat-piss disease or leptospirosis. One elderly died because he had wounds in his foot. My sister and 3 others from the area were hospitalized for days because of dengue .

I am in no condition to get things done as fast. I barely get 12 hours on this a week. The worst news I had been stressing from since the start of the month is that Chris Armin will no longer animate for us. He is no longer happy animating some of the enemies (as dark as Raprevine) and also had personal problems on his own.

I have no idea where to get someone to replace him or would the game even work with artistic inconsistency if I do find someone as good and carry one with where he left off.

That said, I am in the works where I can lead the current game as a prologue and finish it with whatever scenes that are already done. Chris also sent new scenes so I will add those ingame, too. (sketch files are attached in this post)

If no animator is found sooner, then I will finish the game as a prologue and Continue Divine Arms as a new game from the ground up (Forbidden Arms or Witch Hunt gameplay) and hire a programmer instead while I go back to drawing and animating.

It is far easier to hire programmers than find great animators who don't already have their own campaign.

For those on DDD, we can transfer the ideas to the new game if that ever is the direction, or I will slowly refund it. For everyone else, again, please lower or remove your pledges if you are no longer happy. I will issue refunds in the same manner if requested.

Thank you everyone for understanding.
And I'm sorry for letting you down, but this is way beyond me. :(

PS: I did receive some warnings pertaining to Patreon's new ToS and I believe the game is nowhere against it. We will continue to tailor it to these new set of rules. It would be extra depressing if this thing adds up to the problems.

That sucks. But I'm not going anywhere just yet. Hold tight man.

Anonymous

I’m still here not leaving I’ll wait what is needed.

Argenten

I am so sorry you are going through all that and my best wishes go with you and your family

Anonymous

Wow that sucks man

Anonymous

That is very unfortunate. I'm sorry to hear your troubles. I truly hope your family returns to full health. The news of Armin leaving is a definite body blow to the campaign. I'll pull my pledge, but I do not want a refund. What I've paid is what I mean; I wholeheartedly believe in your talents. This will be a temporary setback, I'm certain. I will keep a watchful gaze on this campaign, hoping and waiting for good news. And I look forward to what you do in the future, whatever it is. Thank you, ViperV/Kreig13. Best of luck.

Anonymous

Oh, damn. I'm sorry to hear about this. I do still plan to continue supporting the project as long as I am able to financially.

Anonymous

I hope that all goes better soon, however I'm going to have to bow out for a time. I won't ask for a refund or anything and would be willing to get my pledges back up and running once you get back up and running. Again, I do hope everything gets better as I'd love to see this game in it's completed state.

Karzani

Don't worry man. You still have my support. Been here since almost the beginning.

MysteryStreet

I've been part of this Patreon since almost the beginning and I'm not planning on going anywhere any time soon. Please stay strong. A lot of us have been effected by the recent hurricanes and we know how difficult it is. Please don't be afraid to reach out if you need anything. We appreciate all the time you and Chris have put into this project. Stay strong man. Things will get better. We are here to support you every step of the way through these difficult times.

Anonymous

Meh, I don't need a refund. I wasn't paying for a game, I was paying for your development expenses. Good luck.

Anonymous

This is extremely unfortunate, it would be nice to have a prologue but it's puzzling that a hired h animator quit because the game was too dark? I might keep my pledge a little longer unless no planned prologue is set to be released. However I still wish to see your vision as a creator and was impressed from the first demo all those months ago, just hope something good can happen for a change....

NoirDaemon

Still got my support bud. Stay strong.

Anonymous

Now you need our support more than anything. I'm not going anywhere. I'm sure there a lot of your patrons, who will do same. Take your time.

Anonymous

I'll waitting for you. Till all things be good. Don't let it down man. Cause I really wanna see this job done

Brandon

Sorry to hear about all that you've been going through but money is getting tight for me so i unfortunately have to pull my pledge. I do hope that even with my pledge pulled i get the game/rewards i have been paying for as i have been a $20 tier pledger since july of 2016.

Q

Not changing my pledge. :) Here to help.

Anonymous

Not changing pledge, until I hear about the game direction, if development changes then I'll probably demand a refund for all of it.

Trashboii

I will keep my pledge up! What you need is support from your fans. Don't over work yourself. Take care of your family.

Anonymous

I'm sorry that a lot has happened to you, but Can we still get what was done thus far? I don't need to get a refund but Heck I wanna see what was completed thus far.

Anonymous

My humble advice to you, is just to post what you have. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think its been about 2 years since the initial demo was released. Asking people to lower or cancel their pledge doesn't help you or your fan base. We will be here for you as long as you can provide us consistent communication and an occasional update. If life is getting stressful, post what you have, take a break, let things settle down, find a new animator and then take a continue your work. I want to see this project succeed, everyone here does. Support your fanbase and they will support you

Jonathan Hallam

You've still got my support! I'm not changing anything. One point I would like to make though. You are fantastic for offering refunds but all the patrons here need to be aware that when they make a pledge it's not the same as buying something in a store. You are supporting a creator NOT buying a product. I knew it was always a gamble but I support you because I like your vision and your goal so don't give cause we'll be here for you!

Fawkes1989 Productions Youtube

Due to some personal issues of my own, I've decided to lower my pledge for now, but I don't want to stop giving you my support. Just send me a PM as soon as you have a chance to be stable again, and I'll get my pledge brought back up. I wish the best for you and those around you. I hope you don't see this as a loss of support.

Zachary Jacobson

That's a damn shame to hear, Krieg, but such sadly is life. I've stayed this long, and I'll stay as long as I can. I understand where chris is coming from, and he's done great work as it is. But you've been on the level with us; hold strong, buddy.

Anonymous

I would just like to see the content thus far. I'm not worried much about my pledge getting refunded as long as I can see something for it.

Anonymous

I've gotta pull my pledge, I've been a supporter since nearly the beginning and only missed a couple months. With nothing playable since then and now this set back I can't see continuing to give my money away. I understand shit happens but because of this shit I can't support I've got my own stuff to worry about. Good luck with getting you and your family back on their feet.

Anonymous

Before everythings, I'm French and my English's isn't good ^^ be cool with me. When I see the title, I said for myself 'oh no ! Not again, what' s wrong now ? ' and I read the post. I send you all my hope for you and your family ( I'm not English blablabla.....) and I dont want a refund or change my pledge. Men, this Game is very great and I really want to see it finish, so I wait. I dont understand all of this message but you continue DD or you stop ? If you can post a demo n°2 with all you have now, It Will be apreciate. It's sad for the guy who's stop but, my hope with him too.

Fack Jrost

Is there any way for you to release the source files for Chris' animations in the meantime?

billy bob

Shocking

Anonymous

Ye... Especially because Chris stoped animating for you, you should release his animations for us. Thats at least the minimum you can do for us (if you cant finish the Demo soon). And with that you would also stay with your fanbase a bit. As people said, release it as it is aslong the animations work... if you do such a game the animations are the most important parts... and we are waiting since YEARS for it. It's sad for chris... cuz "rape" is the best thing he can animate (and I follow him since a long time), so why would some1 stop something in what he is very good... who knows... but as I said... release the Demo as it is aslong the animations work. Thats the minimum. My advice for you (cuz I worked a lot with gamedeveloper and animators) stay in contact with them, sometimes they go back to their root, ofc I also would get annoyed of something when Ive to draw since years rape/d1cks and whatever else. But at the end, the most of them go back to their roots after time. And my personal advice for you: finish the Demo, then take a break about a month or so... then arrange everything slowly...and then continue. And never stress yourself. Will not cancel my pledge, but lower it, because your game HAS epic potential for a game in this genre and sometimes I think you dont even realize how big the potential is. Why? Because there a lot of games like this arround, but they are too short, too bad animations, too short... too short... too less content. Your game negate all these things so far (at least with all your ideas)

Nathan

Wait what? Chris thinks that the rapevine is dark to animate? What in the world? Is it the tentacles? Because then shouldn't the animation of the first enemy be dark then if so, but just I am struggling to see how that is an too dark animation to do.

Anonymous

Well I'm honest, cuz I know a lot of dirty stuff ... Divine Arms so far is a hardborder... But that is what the people want to see, cuz "vanilla" sh1t is outdated in our time. It is still very erotic, but also hardcore... I can understand that a lot of animators are afraid of it... if Viper has the money he can maybe ask someone out of the FOW-team, they usually do more than one thing and 've sometimes private projects too. And I know that some of them are very good at drawing, its just a bit difficult to copy Chris BASE drawingstyle. (you dont ve to copy it 1 to 1, just the baselines, but every good animator should be able to do this.)

Anonymous

I have already lowered my pleasure but like you said and money helps other people and not just you so I’m going to continue pledging to you but I do agree if you could just post the animations that will be perfect you don’t have to give out the game or if you can give out the game and it’s not completed but everything works out that would be better I hope everything gets back on track for you and I hope everything stops being so shitty 🙂

Jeffrey Ward

What am I going to do with an extra three dollars a month? And it just doesn't seem right to be cutting off supporting someone going through such hard times. As long as you've still got plans to move forward, I'll continue my pledge.

Anonymous

I'm not canceling my pledge. I really want to see this game finished, or at least a good part of it. As another people said, try to take a break, do not stress (specially because it makes development slower and with lower quality) and find the people you need to finish it. Eventually, Chris Armin will go back to work, as usually personal problems may interfer in your job and make you feel unconfortable there. If he goes back, better, but if not, its not the end. Can't wait for the next version with sex scenes.

Anonymous

[I'm Korean. So I can not speak English well. So I write with the help of Google Translator.]cheer up. I'll wait for this game and you. so i'm not remove my pledge.

Wilsonthegreen

If we remove pledges, will we still get access to the finished prologue? The rewards say that pledging a combined total of 15$ will give us the DASH edition. So will that reward now apply to the prologue?

Anonymous

I never actually sent a email for any developers, so would be better for you if I sent a e-mail or dm on twitter?

Anonymous

Stay strong I'm keeping my pledge to help you out

Anonymous

I dont remove maybe low a little, please stay strong. If u can pm Pink Tea Games the guy is really good and wanna improve him self maybe he can help u

Anonymous

The animations Chris was doing were pretty important, so I'm not sure why you didn't just drop the idea of having near guro enemies like the rape-vine in the game altogether. Unless that's just a small part of why he is leaving, you need to make some sacrifices, and dropping guro content isn't that big of a sacrifice imo. Too late now though I guess, good luck with whatever, it seems like this project is done.

Anonymous

Well, if Divine Arms becomes only a prologue to another game instead of remaining what it was meant to be, I'm afraid that I'll see myself out of this project. This isn't a punishment toward ViperV but I loved Divine Arms because it was bringing something new on the table, something refreshing. Moreover, if the new game will have the same gameplay than WitchHunt or Forbidden Arms... I'm afraid we already have thousands of these plaguing DLSite already, and these gameplays are much less interesting to me than what Divine Arms had to offer initially.

Anonymous

your entire text makes no sense at all ... Chris did Rape... also Rape-Vine for YEARS, long long before Divine Arms exist. His decision has nothing to do with Divine Arms.^^

Anonymous

I'm honestly a little confused... what is so dark about the rapevine animations?

Tohoko, the LEWD Writer

This post from you Viper means a hell of a lot to me. I was a patron of Breeding Season last year when it got shutdown over night because the main artist took off with half of the art assets and the "programmer" decided to hit the killswitch rather than do what you said you want to do which is actually finish the game above all else instead of just getting patreon money without putting in any effort. I honestly don't want to see this game be another Breeding Season bullshit fiasco, and I'm glad to see that you are not only honest and upfront about issues, you are also dedicated to making it about what really matters rather than let the money do all the talking/thinking. As long as you keep this level of openness with your patrons I don't think anyone will "lower or remove" their pledges, in fact, I myself am tempted to pledge higher if it means it helps you out in some way with your IRL issues. Healthcare expenses are insane and I wouldn't feel okay if I didn't try to help you out by throwing a bit more money your way.

Anonymous

I agree with Tohoko for the most part, I also was a patron to the Breeding Season game and was more then slightly frustrated when he just killed the project without warning or an effort to finish anything. So keep at it when you can but I'm of the opinion "Family First before all else" so take care of you're sister, my pledge isn't going anywhere until you kill the project completely or finish it. Take care of yourself, and your family Viper.

Anonymous

I,m sorry too hear that, but i believe in you. I'll keep my pledge, because I like your game.

Anonymous

"If no animator is found sooner, then I will finish the game as a prologue and Continue Divine Arms as a new game from the ground up." - You need to let us know sooner rather than later. We all pledged for the current game, not something else. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Tyrian

You said a lot of the sex scenes were done, do you plan on posting them here regardless of the game as a whole?

Felix1

I agree, it's nice to see a developer still going, this is a thumbs up to you ViperV :).

Felix1

Damn, what happened to Chris? I mean he's a pretty damn good animator, is the hurricane problem affecting him too? As for you ViperV, I'm gonna stick to my pledge, no worries, from the sounds of it, you'll need every help you can get. And it's good that your focusing on your priorities first, take care of your family man, and when everything's stable, we'll be waiting for you. Take care man

Anonymous

That's a little disheartening, I was looking forward to the full release of the game It had a lot of potential and it pains me to see this message but, you have your reasons. and if in the near future you start up another project like this one. I would gladly pledge again. Take care Viper.

Mark Herrig

Id say felix1 said my feelings on this post so, best of luck and ill continue to pledge cause it means you get a little more help when you need it most :)

Anonymous

I hope everything end up well at the end. And I hope that you won't change the game to suit the censorship.

Shadefalcon

Not planning on backing out any time soon. I hope everything will get better, and that you´ll be able to create the game you really want to make. In the meantime I´d be happy to donate some dollars a month to an aspiring game creator :)

Zero Enna

That's very sad to hear, and I hope, you will find an Animator that is willing and able to continue the game as it is now. Changing the gameplay would be more sad than anything else.

Anonymous

You'll still get my 3 bucks. It's a pittance to me. I hope you recover quickly from your problems and get an animator that is willing to help you with Divine Arms. Keep chugging forward.

Anonymous

Game Development is fraught with many perils and I expected problems to arise unforeseen or otherwise, I'll continue to support you as much as my financial situation allows me to.

Anonymous

Sorry to hear about what all happened. I hope things get better. Keeping my pledge, but I do recommend making this post public and not just for patrons.

viperv

they are all done and i will still include the sketch versions ingame. what's not done is them linked to the sprites. i'm back on it now.

viperv

he got sick of animating Siggy, i think. Also not fond of dark themes. as for personal problems, he took a month before telling me this, so it was all sudden. And thanks for the encouragement. I have a new post update regarding my future plans. thanks you for staying with me.

viperv

I will no longer entrust the animations to anyone else in the future. I'll do them all from now on.

viperv

no worries. I hope you still check out the games i'll do in the future. i will always bring new stuff to the table.
