First of all for you who didn't know, as of Monday this week, Leap of Faith was reinstated on the Steam Store. Thank you for the encouragement, and kind words while it was removed. Do note that it is still the silent version, and the soundtrack you know from earlier will not be used anymore.

My main job in the weeks ahead (other than rendering) is to secure a decent soundtrack for the 8th and final chapter, but I am also contacting every one of the artists used in the old soundtrack, to try and secure licenses directly from them. If they are ok with the game and their works used in it, I will use their songs even if it breaks the bank. Otherwise, it will be filled with a more generic soundtrack.

This week I've been working on story renders connected to Lexi's romantic route, bumping the number up to 1,144. If there's someone who always makes me smile, it's Lexi and her goofiness. There's still a lot of work connected to Lexi due to Holly - some of which is not going to be all fun rendering, but it's been good progress.

I also took some days to make custom renders for the top-tier patrons, and thanks to Wibble, dived into Blender and learned a lot about how to improve my Daz workflow with Blender. In short, things I couldn't do before, I can do now.

While writing this I also noticed that we've reached a very round number of Patreons, which I feel should be rewarded. So I've included a wallpaper of the redheads you know by now. Is it a LoF ending? Who knows.

I know it's a poor reward, and I would rather invite all 1,500 you to my place for a pool party and barbeque and shake every one of your hands properly. But honestly, my garden is not big enough. Come to think of it, I don't have a pool either, so it would be a horrible pool party. But know that I appreciate you all. Leap of Faith wouldn't be possible without you, and I give you my heartfelt thanks.

With that, I hope you have a nice weekend. Stay safe out there.

Was great seeing Steam put LoF back up! Thank you Drifty, I am sure that all your Patreons agree, for such an amazing story/VN! We all can see how much this means to you, and the community here is amazing. Congrats on the 1500+, well deserved! Cheers from the US.

Yes! So happy for you that it got reinstated on Steam, that is the best news I’ve heard all week! Even if the old soundtrack can’t be fully restored I am sure whatever you put together will be great. The music obviously helps really set the tone for scenes but in the end, its your brilliantly written characters and story that matter, the music is just a nice bonus. As always thanks for the update Drifty, you and my other favorite AVN creator both do your weekly updates on Friday mornings (well morning in my timezone), always gives me something to look forward to at the end of each week.

It is truely god news about the reinstatment om steam... I wish for the artists to alow you to use the music in thous sceens there is clearly build up around the music... Otherwise a redo ore removel of thies sceens may be in order. Thou it would be a shame for the fantastic work and attention to detail you have put in to the game so far...

Hopefully someone that still has the old version will audio capture the songs and use those .wav files to make a mod that "de-silences" and restores the old version's soundtrack. I'd do it myself and upload/reupload a few mirrors and a torrent of it but I suck at Python. As far as Steam, meh, I quit buying much of anything from them once purchases started getting taxed awhile back.

Should be fun to render our fav red head :P

You know, there is that thing they did with Subnautica's Juke Box that lets you play whatever MP3 files you place in the appropriate file folder under "Music". It might be fun to let players assign their own music to each scene.

I'm glad to hear that the game was reinstated, even if it's currently silent. You have a good ear for music that fits the emotional tone of each scene in the game. I have no doubt that whatever happens you'll find music that works for the story and is free of legal problems. Personally, I think the artists would be fools not to allow their music in your game since I would never have even known about them without playing it.

There is a playlist on spotify for the list, i found it with a google search, LikIt. Sage thats one hell of an idea.

Hey Drifty I own the Steam version but I was just wondering. Does the Patreon download version have the old soundtrack or is that silent too?

DriftyGames

All versions of LoF are silent for now, unfortunately. Hopefully, I can secure songs from the original soundtrack for further use, but at this point, I don't know.

Is the patron version the one with the good soundtrack still?

The music is a huge part of this game. I am glad I have all the music but the final chapter is going to feel completely empty without it. Drifty, I really hope you come up with a way to get music back in the game. Its why so many other games are lackluster, no music leaves the story feeling so flat and emotionless. You had a hell of a song list.
