I've been hit with a bit of extra inspiration lately, and am progressing nicely with the story renders and animation for LoF, chapter 8.

Story renders are now at 1,069, and the animation frame counter at 15,034.

I've finished Cece's path this week, and that means there's only one girl to go and that's Lexi. Of course, Lexi's path is a bit more detailed due to Lexi's red-haired friend, but I'm working myself through the original route for now.

Speaking of red-haired girls, the one in the image in this post is Jackie, from my next game. She's looking forward to meeting you all. This means you should have met 4 girls from that game by now. Jackie, Ani, Siwan, and Celeste which rounds up the previews for that game.

Going back to LoF, when I've completed Lexi's path(s), I'll start working on the main event of the chapter to bring LoF to a close with the worthy ending I feel it's deserved.

Once I've started the main event, I'll release a sneak peek video (or release date video), because I need some screens from that event and something special I've ordered for that video which is in the making.

I'd like to assure you all that I'm working hard on finishing LoF as I originally intended, even if there's no golden carrot at the end for me in form of further Steam sales.

Have a nice weekend. Enjoy the season, and stay safe out there.

Saving the best for last ;) I'm so excited for the conclusion and the big event. If you hear a middle aged guy squeal like a schoolgirl when that video hits dont worry I'm ok. We're behind you all the way Drifty and will be there for the next one too.

I really hope Steam/Valve come around, If not, They are missing out on one of the best VN's ever created, Great work Drifty, Looking forward to Chapter 8, And your next game.

Cant wait to see what happens with my LoF girls. I just hope whatever happens, they all find some kind of peace. Daily life in hell should never be all a person knows but it will continue until we as a species conquer our greed.

You really are one of the best in the business D.

If you haven’t heard back from Steam, just keep harassing them. As I said before, they’re notoriously slow as all hell. And I know they don’t have nearly the playerbase that Steam does but GOG started allowing AVN’s, another very popular AVN maker, whose work I am sure many of us are familiar with, has his games on there. Just a thought, might be a way to make a little bit of extra money while Steam continues to be their usual understaffed, slow, uncaring selves.

Sounds awesome, I can't wait!

Sewer Rat

Are we going to get your new game throught here or you gonna make a new page?

Nyrixium

Gotta throw my two cents in on this, I wouldn't give up on the steam sales, maybe just focus on them when you are completed, could also be a way to boost visibility on your new game. Really sucks when Steam can just pull the plug like that, I think digi.B had something similar happen too.

DriftyGames

Just to clarify, Steam has been quick in replying every time I've contacted them, but they can't do anything due to the game being locked by Valve's legal department. So it's Valve that hasn't replied to me yet, for 4 weeks so far.

My Patreon page will always be my number one priority when it comes to releases, and you will always have access to anything I create here first. That means LoF and anything that comes after it.

I warned a few other developers when I got the DMCA notice, which seemed to spread to several others afterward. I'm glad they are taking this seriously, as I would hate to see it happen to them too.

Wesley

Damn, thats frustrating. Feel bad for you Drifty, literally none of it is your fault and yet you’re the one being punished. Just makes me frustrated for you that they’re messing with both your beautiful work and your livelihood. Really hope the legal department gets off their butts and reinstates the game. They allow money laundering on Steam, you’d think an already resolved DMCA take down request would be quick and easy for them…

Albert O

Will your future games only come on patreon or will they also come on Steam?

Following your post about your run in the with DMCA, I saw the information spread like wildfire through patrons. Even when you ran into an unimaginable situation, you reached out and helped everyone else as well. Hats off to you Drifty for taking the initiative and caring about creators as a whole, you're one of a kind my friend. Best to you and yours!

Thanks ma, I really enjoy your work and hope to continue!!\

So hard to believe this story is going to end. But I can't wait to see the paths for the finale.\

I'm looking forward to seeing the end of the game. All the characters are really engaging. And if you decide not to put new games up on steam, I'll still purchase them however you decide to release them. You've proven yourself to be an excellent storyteller.

You know, I didn't think it could get more heart wrenching than Cece's story, until I finished the "Perfect Holly" path last night. That ending tore me a new one, @Drifty. I gotta hand it to ya, you are a master storyteller and artist.

Blacklabyrinth

Congrats on getting LOF back on Steam. Hopefully the poop storm is now behind you!

Be aware that the name IS kinda misleading because its not a "PERFECT" route but i cant say more without it becoming a spoiler
