EDIT: Made a set of desert fortress variants without water. Archive with day/night versions are attached below and a preview is provided above!

Good morning! This is the second map for September, a map inspired loosely by the namesake walls surrounding parts of the historic Constantinople! These turned out a little more fortress-y than city walls-y, but that just means it's more flexible. The real walls had a bit of a curve to them too anyways.

I have also upgraded Constantinople's ordinary moat into a combination moat and sewer, which will hopefully help to deter your local invaders.

A full list of variants is included in the images above!

Notes

The "main" variant was originally going to be the urban map, but then I remembered that the walls are, you know, situated on the exterior of the city. The urban map doesn't make any sense except as an internal fortress - which is fine too, it's just a little divorced from the source material. Not that it matters anyways.

Thanks for reading and for your support.

Great map, really good staging ground for some siege action. Bit of an odd ask perhaps, but I think it's pretty ostentatious for a *desert* fortress to have a moat and external water features. Maybe ditch the moat in favor of a chasm or crevasse?

That's a good point. Originally I had left it unchanged because of an already-massive filesize, and because I had kinda burned myself out; but I went back just now and made a set of the desert maps with a dry moat, no water tubes, and brickwork at the bottom instead which should maybe be a bit more suitable.

Really enjoying the "No Water" versions. They give me an idea to use both variants for an adventure where this water-rich desert city suddenly goes dry. Cheers!

I can't believe noone pointed out to me how badly I mangled the splash image, haha. Day labeled "Night", the urban version without any label at all. Whoops.
