Good morning, and welcome to September! The winner of this month's poll was Byzantine Churches, Castles, et cetera; so this week, I drew a church inspired by Byzantine orthodox architecture and mosiacs.

The most obvious difference for those used to Catholic or Protestant-inspired churches would probably be the lack of pews. Traditional orthodox churches do not possess seating for services and attendees stand throughout instead. (In areas dominated by Protestant or Catholic tradition, however, Orthodox churches may occasionally adopt seating.) I have included some stasida, however, primarily along the walls of the aisles as the structure of the central nave makes it impossible to fit a large number of stasidia within it.

Coincidentally, the circular arrangement of stasidia along the central nave's chambers makes it look sort of like a meeting room. Perhaps the church might also be used as a town hall or meeting chamber. Or maybe that's the real purpose of the structure.

Variants

A visual list of variants is attached to the images above, along with the sketch I did of the map with important parts of the church architecture labeled for your convenience. Notable contents include a set of oracle maps for the pagans amongst us, as well as a bunch of holy circle variants.

Downloads include all content from the previous tiers.

You probably don't need the raw files unless you want a ~500mb uncompressed .kra file with the layers intact!

Notes

I did a lot of double-checking to make sure I got the church architecture correct. I'm rather familiar with religious structures like this, but complex buildings are always a hassle and the sketch can take up to a day for planning. I'm really pleased with the shape, though. I hope it's useful.

Thanks for reading, and for your support! Yell at me if you have an idea or find an issue, especially if it's a serious issue.
