Some thoughts on performance and next step (Patreon)

I've been testing the 3D character on mobile devices and the performance impact it's huge, to the point that even a high-end mobile device struggles with 2 characters. It will improve with some optimization but 3D characters with facial expressions are demanding by nature due to 3D mesh deformations. Some games have a lower detailed version for mobile, others use pre-rendered/recorded videos... the second option it's discarded, real-time in-engine animation it's the way to go interactivity-wise. The first one tho could be interesting since can be implemented without affecting the rest of the game, it's pretty much a level of detail
The next 3D character it's going pretty well, I'll publish something next month.

P.S: As usual, my Patreon remains paused, and now that I mention it, it has been paused for a whole year... Woah, that's a new level of disappointment for myself u^^
