best episode so far omg

Jaeboleann

Erens black Air Force energy is off the charts😭

Jesse Collins

Fight was freaking epic in animation. Well done Mappa! 👏🏻

L.C.

I hate to be that person but I didn't like the episode at all. I don't like CGI at all and it was quite excessive in this episode.

clement

sure mha fan..respect the opinion but never be the person that harras and attack the studio personally

Max

Dude Zofia got straight Obitoed this episode.

TheOneAndOni

Man it was still good dont get me wrong. But Wits titan fights were way better, and they really lost the true epic feel of this battle from the manga. I am honestly worried for how the later battles will look cause the cg looks worse in the daylight. Overall very disappointed (while not bad by any means)cause of how good jujutsu kaisen and God of Highschool are so well animated by them.

Gio

Freaking fire!!! Armin hasn’t even showed up yet bro!!

HybridThizzle

IMO it was just Warhammer that disappointed me. Eren's titan cgi isn't bad at all, and Galliard's cgi works really fucking well. I'm not of the ilk that think just because you notice it's CGI then it's bad CGI, but I just didn't like how Warhammer's face was animated. I still prefer this because it's closer to the manga art style which I've grown to like over Wit's designs.

Wanna address what Navi said about it being safer for the Tybur sister in the nape rather than underground. Firstly, that's the first place Eren and Mikasa attacked, if she was in there she would've been quickly defeated by them. But, secondly, something you guys have to remember is that the War Hammer Titan hasn't been used in battle in forever. Not since it was used to "drive out" The Founding Titan. All its users since then have inherited it without ever having to actually use it in battle, yet alone against other titans. Mix that with some scout tech attached to certified titan killers and a (sorta) surprise attack, the War Hammer never stood a chance. If anything, the method of hiding underground was taught to Willy's sister to guarantee her safety from people who thought titan shifters only existed in the nape (she would be unbeatable against the anti-titan cannons used on the battlefield) and even if caught she's in an unbreakable casing of crystal like Annie. Ensuring that even if captured, the War Hammer wouldn't be stolen.

"Is that Mikasa?" ...bro

I want to clarify the Marleyan soldiers who told Gabi to go home were the Gate Keepers who were friendly with the Warrior Candidates in episode 4. They are actually some of the few Marleyans we’ve seen who weren’t depicted as being terrible to the Eldians. They were minor characters, but they had a few more scenes in the manga than the anime where they talk with the kids more and are just shown to be on good terms with them. When they told Gabi to go home it isn’t meant to be a oh now they suddenly care moment, but a genuine one were they are actually trying to keep Gabi safe. They are Gabi’s Hannes basically. That is why Gabi was so mad when they died. I liked the discussion you guys had on what is necessary to win a war and the eye for an eye talk. I believe we are supposed to be discussing this rather than getting caught up in picking one side over the other. Attack on Titan in general asks difficult questions to me. Erwin sacrificing his humanity to achieve an objective at hand played that so well too. In another series Erwin’s method would just be seen as the absolute right way no matter what, but AoT always shows us the lives it costs and makes look at the loss to remind us just because that was probably the right way to go doesn’t mean we should glorify this or stop questioning Erwin’s methods. When we become comfortable to it and just accept it without question that it had to be done it becomes a lot harder for us to recognize when we can finally stop using those methods. We don’t want to see them blow up civilian homes of the enemy country and justify it as they did this to us so we should do it right back to them like Falco said. We want them to be like Jean who is targeting military targets and doing what needs to be done to win the war, but not going out of his way to kill civilians.

Story is still gonna be good, but just unfortunate the action scenes aren't very epic. Camera shots seemed a lot more static and the obviously meh CGI contrasting with how we're used to the titans kinda takes you out of it.

Jag_227

"Can't they see I'm a Titan? Are these humans really going to try to kill me?" Soooo good

Don't get me wrong the episode is good overall, I don't care about CGI that much as well. But for some reason, I just don't think that this episode does enough justice to the epic atmosphere in the manga. Perhaps it's because of the music or sound idk.

PGCot

I feel bad for saying this but I don’t think anyone’s gonna read this essay lol

J. J.

Suraj has been doing his homework boii, he's killing these reactions with the details. The Normies take the cake for AoT reactions, dude most of the other ones didn't even know who Sasha, Connie and Jean were.

Jason Rodriguez

The only thing that I feel is wrong in the episode is the music. Definitely not as epic as in past years. That being said I'm hoping they do take a break after episode 16 so they can have more time to animate the show so people can stop bitching that it looks different and that the cgi sucks. This is getting annoying seeing it every damn episode

VlSch

You know what is annoying? To see whining toxic comments like this. Btw, the person who responsible for music is the same guy who was responsible for all previous seasons, no changes here. Music was dope and on point, everything else is just your subjective opinion

Jagi

The CGI was noticeable, but well done especially during the Mikasa and Levi reveals. The way they were drawn more resembled the manga style as well. I wonder if that was homage or permanent going forward. Everyone else looked great and pretty much as expected. Episode was hype.

J. J.

I don't even mind the CGI, it's the artwork that looks weird especially the faces and head proportion, people say "it's drawn like the manga" it's not, go read it yourself it's Chap 100-102, Jean and Levi look really off in the episode, Eren for some reason has a big round nose. Don't even get me started on Mikasa, she's supposed to look more like tomboy with the new hair but her face should be the same, they botched it.

Kristian

This is episode 1 all over again

Jag_227

Marketa: "It's hard for me to judge Eren because this is a very human response to trauma." Completely agree. It's really crazy thinking back to how much shit this man has been through. I didn't see it coming, but it just makes so much sense that this is where his character development would lead.

J. J.

Almost feels like they're just coloring manga panels but with their weird character artwork, doesn't seem as "brought to life" as S1-3.

Dinero

Marley created what Eren has become. They only have themselves to blame

Max

Lol to be fair this exactly how she looks in the manga too.

KaydenC

I really think the OST when Mikasa shows up is in my top 3. It's the same one that plays when Levi chases the Female Titan. Every time I wash my hands now, it's been, "DUH duh duh duh duh duh DUH duh duh duh duh duh DUH duh duh duh duh duh DUH duh duh duh duh duh..." for 20 seconds. halp.

Rando calrissian

This artwork is so fucking epic the battles and all the action just looks so fucking good how can people complain it's so good

Jagi

So Zeke about to turn all these scouts and fight and lose to Levi in these woods. Of course he can't do it alone, he gonna get some help from Niccolo after he helps serve wine to everyone with Zeke's spinal fluid in it....so basically everyone is fucked once Zeke screams

Jagi

Eren going rogue with his followers spearheading his own faction and run a coup on Paradis. He beats up Armin and it's revealed Ackermann are basically hard-wired to "protect the king" which in Mikasa's case is Eren which explains her unyielding devotion to him
