This is it guys 😩😭

ITS HERE!

MAY

End of an era :')

cosmotron

Yay! I love this finale! It gives me a lot of emotions, particularly Korra's talk with Tenzin at the end. She's grown so much. And I love the final Korra/Kuvira fight too. It's awesome.

MarkyO

WOOOOO HEADPIECES

Can’t believe it’s over fam! Hopefully we will see a live action remake of Korra just as we will see ATLA! Till next time :)

end of an era

MarkyO

I for sure thought that Nahid was gonna wear the Firelord headpiece.

Anonymous

Can't believe we've come all the way from the boy in the iceberg and that it's really over.

While part of me is sad that this show as well as these reactions is over, at least it’s not the end of Avatar. In around two years, the live-action show will release and hopefully be really great, so we can see you guys experience the show all over again. I think this finale was perfect, from the intense final fight and the way Korra has learned to use compassion to win the day, instead of violence, to the final shot of two people realizing what they mean to each other. Thank you for these reactions and thanks to everyone involved for this amazing show

Lalisa Truong

You guys went all out man!! I'm feeling even more sad now lol. This has been one hell of a journey with you guys. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for putting so much hard work into these reactions for us. Experiencing all of this again has reaffirmed my love for Avatar overall again, and I also thank you guys for that. In the end, whether you prefer one show over the other, I think we can all agree that we love the world of Avatar and it was something that was worth getting into.

Anonymous

The producers of the show confirmed that Korra and Asami are together but because it was still Nickelodeon at the time they couldn't go into more detail like they wanted

Killjoy

korrasami is canon just to clarify and this show did come back a while back so yea plenty of people were a bit upset by them being together and since we all know how nickelodeon is like they didn't like the idea either so the writers were restricted in that area as well

Harry Utton

I was around Korra's age when this first aired so felt a very strong attachment to her. The talk she had at the end with Tenzin brought me to tears. She has gone through so much and grown in such a way that is truley inspiring. To see her go through all this pain and still come out at the end with her humanity intact (like forgiving and understanding Kuvira) was the proudest feeling I have ever felt. It has been an honour to watch this series once again along side you, brought back many happy memories and I cant thank you enough!

Anonymous

Rana is spot on about everything as usual. There's a lot of little things to pick up on between Korra and Asami in Book 3 & 4.

Anonymous

Awesome Reaction guys! Im so glad I got to see this before my membership expires! Korrasami has been confirmed by the creators. Korra was bi sexual and the number one thing on my Christmas list is the Korra comics! I know Korra takes Asami to meet her parents in one and it shows their vacation! I want to read them so bad! Love y'all guys! Thanks for always cheering me up in my rough times, y'all never fail!

Joseph Sanchez

Korrasami is definitely canon.

olof

You were meant to watch both parts together. And the best part isn't the action - it's the character development.

Ansley

Im for real crying right now. Im happy/sad

Eddie Gamboa

#TeamRena 4 Lyfe, yo. She’s always on it.

KBM

korrasami is here and yes it's cannon http://bryankonietzko.tumblr.com/post/105916338157/korrasami-is-canon-you-can-celebrate-it-embrace

Luis Benavides

Does anybody else think what Wu did would further the Earth Kingdom into turmoil? The land was just forcibly united under a dictator there are areas that have bad blood. Making them independent would mean any damage Kuvira did would be up to themselves to fix right? thats that kind of shit that starts famine and civil war. Thoughts?

Anonymous

Both ATLA and Korra was one and is still on my top 3 favorite shows to date. They were both shows I got to watch and absolutely fall in love with all the characters. It was an escape for me from everyday life. Growing up gay and seeing the end of one of my favorite shows represent the LGBTQ+ community made me proud. Representation matters and that meant so much to me. The relationship was confirmed by the creators and if you watch back you can start to see their relationship really start in season 3.

Luis Benavides

Also next comic deals with the ramifications of what Kuvira did I'm excited. and even if it was a little taste of Korrasami it was still a BIG BIG deal for mainstream animation.

Anonymous

Honestly when it was over I felt so contempt. I was happy for Korra. I had grown up with her and Aang and I loved them both so much and it was so sad when it was all over.

godUsoland

Korrasami is life. Glad you guys made it this far

I'm curious to hear if this is the picture Mickey saw with Korra & Asami: https://michaeldantedimartino.tumblr.com/post/112739006870/bryankonietzko-turtle-duck-date-night-this-is

As a lesbian I'd like to throw my 2 cents in here and just day that if most of the scenes korra and asami have at the end of book 3 and throughout book 4 had been between mako and korra ppl wouldn't have doubted the romantic intent behind them. I remember watching this for the first time when it aired and being beyond excited when korra blushes at asami's compliment abt her hair in the book and I never ever though they'd actually be allowed to get them together but I thought maybe that would be enough and of course as it turns out they do get together, every single time I watch this episode I cry like there's no tomorrow it still means so much to me and I still can't believe this nickelodeon show actually gave me the representation I so desperately wanted (I know they're bi but I mean in terms of a female/female couple) so yeah. I understand why it is harder for straight ppl to recognise this build up esp bc media tends to portray female friendships as closer then that of other kinds. anyway its been an amazing journey with you guys watching atla and lok, im so glad i was able to discover yall bc of ur atla reactions your channel has easily become my favourite. thank u so much for this i can't wait to see more of ur content in the future

olof

ATLA ended in a similar way - the won the fight, then quickly wrapped everything up. And we had a kiss. As a second half, this is way better. And they inserted a recap-episode because of the budget - couldn't afford to do the show justice.

Upup

About Korra and Asami, I heard that the main reason why it seemed so out of nowhere was because of Nickelodeon. Apparently the creators had planned for a while that Korrasami would be canon but Nickelodeon wasn't okay with it. Then Nickelodeon just started screwing over the creators more and more (the last season only airing on the website and not even on tv), so at that point they were like "fuck Nickelodeon" and did what they wanted. It sucks that this show was held back so much even since season 1 when they weren't sure if it would be renewed for another season or not. But they made do with what they got.. I'll continue to dream of a 3rd series someday being created on Netflix..but of course we get a fucking live action that no one asked for.

Anonymous

Korrasami is indeed confirmed canon by the creators and in fact one of them did a tumblr post explaining it in depth https://michaeldantedimartino.tumblr.com/post/105916326500/korrasami-confirmed-now-that-korra-and-asamis. I will say that I'm kinda disappointed that nahid, micky and suraj were being very negative about the idea of it being canon

Anonymous

Dude those shirts are fire

Mieguy

The ending of this finale was supposed to draw parallels to the end of ATLA, but due to constraints of working with Nickelodeon they couldn't do a full blown kiss so they had to settle with this that implied it. Though there are lots of people that are adamant that they are just friends it was confirmed by the creators. Another thing to acknowledge is that this isn't a relationship growing over a long time with both parties like with Aang and Katara, but just the start of a budding romance.

TrixieTurner

It's hard to pick a favorite moment but for me its gotta be the first season, watching yall transition from ATLA to Korra and adjust to how different it is, but still growing to like it. It's been a long ride, and its always great seeing someone else's perspective on something you love, especially during the rough times when just being able to take a break for 20-30 minutes can make a huge difference. I'm excited for you guys to react to the comics, especially because the Korra comics are still on going.

Anonymous

Part of what I like about your reactions is how different you guys are and how each of you guys is able to pick up on things that the others don't and read things differently. Like Nahid was super on top of it with Korra's whole PTSD arch, and Rana was spot on with the whole Korrasami thing, etc. Thanks for sharing your journey with us!!!

Lalisa Truong

As for the Korra and Asami (Korrasami) scene. Mike and Bryan confirmed they were a thing a few days after the finale. I basically remember the whole internet imploding because of that ending and confirmation. Personally, I found that ending for the two of them beautiful simply because they both went through so much, yet they were still able to find happiness in the end. It was just very heartwarming. I also had an epiphany about their relationship when it got to that ending. I wasn't a Korrasami shipper, but I always felt like their moments together had something more there but I couldn't explain it. Then everything leading up to when they held hands and walked into the portal confirmed my suspicions for me. Things like "Avatar's Love" playing in snippets, the colors of the bisexual flag in the background of RC, and the whole set up with Korra and Asami looking at each other heavily paralleled Zaheer/P'Li, Kuvira/Bataar Jr., Varrick/Zhu Li and Aang/Katara. Even Asami basically saying she wouldn't be able to handle losing both her dad and Korra too! It just screamed "my feelings for you". So before the official confirmation, I already got the implications of it. And how I see it with both ATLA and LOK, ATLA was the classic epic hero's journey that ended with a huge bang whereas LOK was more of a personal journey that ended quietly and peacefully. Their respective series ending credits reflects that imo. Overall, I can see the flaws many people may have a problem with in LOK specifically, but I still love it just as much as ATLA. Both shows each brought new things to the table and like what I said earlier, whether someone prefers one show over the other, we can all agree that Avatar as a whole was worth getting into and has affected us all in so many ways. One last fun fact: Both ATLA and LOK ended with the word "perfect"!! Toph said "I think you all look perfect" and Korra here said "Sounds perfect".

Patrick RL

Lots of Favorite moments re-watching the series with you guys (especially the episodes that brought the feels). But one that sticks out for me was when y’all first started Korra, Book 1, Chapter 1. Before you hit “play”, You guys were sharing your speculations and expectations and Mickey didn’t know that Korra was the next Avatar. He thought she might be some side character from Aang’s storyline. LOL.

Anonymous

The reason I watched your reactions and ended up here on patreon is because atla and tlok are my favorite series and watching your reactions was kind of like showing my fave to a friend you know? It's been very cool just getting cozy and watching the show again (and again) and seeing you enjoy it this much! I'm also really glad you're actually really getting into what you're watching, like having discussions and following up with the comics now. Honestly I thought I'd stop being patron after this show and gravity falls ended on your channel because I could save the money, but really I wanna keep following you guys 🧡 + I just found you're starting naruto so that'll be plenty of content anyway xD Love you guys

Ansley

Oh shit they're starting naruto?! I became a patron for AtLa/Korra/FMA:B but if they're doing Naruto next I'll definitely stay a patron

Anonymous

Korra’s display of not just power, but compassionate is proof that the avatar is still needed. If it had been anyone else in that situation, Kuvira would be dead and who knows how much more destruction could have come from the canon. I’m so proud of her. And Kuvira is such a sympathetic villain. I love her too. I never thought I’d be able to understand a dictator like that, even if it is a cartoon, and rather simplified.

Thanatos

I think they were okay with it happening just they, myself and others wished that there was more development in that relationship. Most of their relationship was only built in this season so it seemed out of no where. I don't think they were being negative.

Anonymous

Korrasami is indeed canon!! Basically, the writers began developing the relationship in Book 3, but Nickelodeon completely screwed them over in how much they were allowed to show. There are still hints though, such as Korra blushing when Asami compliments her, Asami being the only one she could speak to during her depression, etc.

Anonymous

You guys mentioned how you wish there was a kuvira backstory, and instead of the recap episode you wanted one of those, but during this time while the show is airing, Nickelodeon made terrible budget cuts to the show and the LOK team had to decide whether to lay off some of its staff or do the recap episode. That's why it's there. The entire time legend of Korra was on air Nickelodeon just treated them all like crap.

Silvermoon

I just remember I found your channel from the avatar episode zuko alone. I believe it was nahid who said that he didn’t think kids would understand what was happening but it made me laugh since all I did as a kid was make theories of what happened to zuko’s mom. I’ve been here ever since :)

Jose

VOTE yes if you are okay and support the KorrAsami ship. I feel like there are people out there that do not like the ending because of that. Please prove me wrong.

Anonymous

Oh my dear Normies💕 I wish I had recorded myself watching all of your avatar reactions so you could see how many times you guys made me cry tears of happiness with them, specially on every season finale. You guys want us to tell you how we felt watching your reactions? I felt happy and grateful that I found 4 really nice friends and human beings re-living all of the emotions I felt while watching the show for the first time 10 years ago. Sometimes when I get sad I come back to these reactions and they make me smile, specially that last minute on Sozin's comet when the 4 of you were trying so hard no to cry, lol, always brings a big smile on my face. Love you guys♥ I have nothing but gratitude towards you and I wish you all the best in all the new shows to come. With all my love, Pilar.🌹

Burooj Ahanger

people were also angry cause they didnt go all the way and have them kiss. several different groups of people were several different reasons

Adam is Magic

I started watching your reactions from when right before Sokka’s Master was posted on YouTube and I then watched every Avatar video on your channel afterward. I have been with you guys for over a year! My favorite reaction was to the Avatar series finale. I will be gone for awhile now that legend of Korra is complete. But if I see another show that I love and have seen already I will check you guys out again. Thanks a lot!

Burooj Ahanger

there's also the fact that if korra and asami were opposite genders and were equally as close as they are now, people would automatically assume for it to be romantic closeness

Anonymous

The Korrasami stuff, while it may not compare to things like Steven Universe or She-Ra now, it was still a big deal and leap forward at the time. You should check out the comics, they explore it further. And in general, it’s been a blast to watch you all go through the Avatar saga :)

Jose

Also, the normies. i am glad that you guys watched it all the way to the end and actually accept it as it is. You guys are awesome and hilarious. Don't ever stop making reactions guys. You all are one of a kind. Take care of each other and do not let reality get in the way of this awesome Avatar universe. It has been nice meeting you guys and hopefully one day in the future I'll start watching you all's reactions in the live action series. Farewell, my fellow Normies.

Anonymous

you guys should react to the compilation of the reaction to korrasami. It was a huge ship in the fandom and people lost their minds when it ended with that ship. Its funny, sweet, and emotional... :)

Lalisa Truong

"Just the start of a budding romance" is exactly how I'd describe it. So many people kept saying it was rushed because they were in love with each other now like how Aang and Katara were, but this was merely just the beginning of something new between the two of them.

Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen #1

The first time I saw the last seen I thought “Wait WHAT?!” I guess I was just totally oblivious to the signs that hinted they were more than just friends

MoxiePoxy

I was so excited when y'all started watching ATLA back in the day. It was so fun to see your excitement and love for the series grow. I looked forward to the Cozy 4 to cheer me up. I remembered sharing in the excitement that you all had for every episode and I still look up my fave episode reactions from you guys. I never thought your reactions to the show would become my favorite but it did! Now no one compares lol, you've ruined me. I just love how involved you all get with the series and its characters. It was fun to watch you all grow, and thank you for helping me escape from my anxieties and problems in life that would get me down a lot. I really hope to keep seeing the Cozy 4 more! <3

KuzonFire121

https://youtu.be/L8omP47mQQY ....did I do it? Did I win the thing?

Rosalie David

Cozy Four!!! So many mixed emotions about the end of this. Thank you guys so much for going through this and reacting to it all. You guys have made me feel like I was rewatching the show and falling in love with it all over again with you. While my personal favorite was Aang’s story, I think it’s because the creators had a clear vision from the start. I like Korra for its darker more mature themes and just wish the creators hadn’t had to deal with so much behind the scenes. I can’t wait for the live action on Netflix and to your reactions as well! Cheers!

Anonymous

I really, really hope cozy 4 stick together for a lonnnnng time! It was such a pleasure watching you guys during all this time. I just love'ya sooo much. Please, pleeeeease keep watching shows 'cause you 4 are amaizing together !!!! Wish you all the best and we'll see each other around!! :D

Alex

It felt out of left field to me on my first watch, but watching the series again they definitely hint toward it.

Anonamai

I’m crying in the lunchroom at work right now and people are judging me... 😭. It’s been dope guys my friends DO NOT watch animation and this is legit my absolute, all time, favourite show in the universe I’ve loved rewatching the whole franchise with you. Been on since Korra 1x1 and binged your ATLA reactions many times. Bruh I can’t do Naruto fam but I’ll stick around. Awesome

William Abbott

I'm glad the avatar series have affected you guys just like it has myself. Long live the dragon on west I hope zuko somehow found his way to the spirit world and talked to Iroh maybe even stayed awhile haha. Great work guys I've watched and rewatched every episode of your reactions of atla and korra and I'd say its well worth it.

Anthony Villena

This isn't a specific memory, but an overall observation: I had decided to watch your Korra reactions before your ATLA reactions, so I went in not knowing your connection to the Aang gang. I was moved by how much you guys were affected by each event that revealed their fates. I think it was the first episode, when you found that this was set in a time when Aang and Sokka had already passed away, Nahid looked visibly hurt as if he had personally lost someone. So I guess I'm looking forward to journeying with you through ATLA now to see how the characters grew on you guys and became so beloved. Thanks for the reactions.

Chili Chanda

I'm just hear to appreciate Micky's vine star comment

Jose

to all of you guys who enjoy watching reactions on ATLA and The legend of korra. I would suggest to follow "Chainsaw Reacts" and "Hugz N Sam" They both make such good reactions just like the Normies. :D Please. You will not regret following them.

Jose

i also forgot to mention. You all may have not noticed it, but whenever I am bored, I always rewatch your old ATLA and TLOK videos from youtube as if I was pretending to watch them for the first time. They are all so good :') Bless your hearts for all of your hardwork. <3

Adam Vialpando

They were totally together. The creators of the show confirmed it. Most people don't pick up on since, as the creators themselves pointed out, most people watch it with a hetero point of view and automatically write off all the korrasami moments as just best friend stuff. But that's how a lot of romance starts. Rana and Nahid don't act like a typical view of a couple 75% of the time and I didn't even know they were dating for a while. I thought Korra and Asami had good chemistry together even back in Book 1 and I was a total korrasami fan halfway through Book 3. Besides, that final scene between the two at the end of Book 3 definitely shows they have more than just friendly feelings for each other.

Anonymous

For me, I never noticed that Korra and Asami weren't just friendly up until the hand-holding either. Afterwards, going back, I did see the hints they were ATTEMPTING to drop about Korrasami. I think people were more upset at the fact that it seemed like it came out of nowhere, not the fact that they were in a relationship. I think they could've had bigger hints. But I do love the fact that they're together :) I did love this finale but I also agree with what you said, that it felt more like tying loose ends than an epic finale. I love you guys! I can't wait for more content!

Anonymous

Both series last words were “perfect" Toph: Well I think you all look PERFECT! - Korra: Sounds PERFECT! Although LOK being a perfect series is a far stretch, it has exhibit a variety of significant factors to be considered as a fantastic/great show of its own. For me, the last battle was quite different and unique on it’s own way because it wasn’t trying to be like the Sozin’s comet finale that was so grand and epic but rather it was somehow more about little moments of the characters and most importantly the “krew” working all together. Korra won by her empathy and compassion towards Kuvira. It showed how Korra has grown from a hot headed, selfish and sefl-centered person to a more composed, thoughtful and compassionate young woman who puts the needs of others before herself. Korra was not that great as Aang was, but like Tenzin said, she transformed the world more in a few years than most Avatars did during their lifetimes. Besides, she’s young! and she had only just begun. Personally, I like her!! About the Korrasami ending, well for me, the holding of their hands showed their acknowledgement that there was something there that wasn’t there before. It was not forced or rushed because the ending scene signified the beginning of their romantic relationship and it was further discussed in the turf wars comics. The comics showed how the nations dealt with the LGBT culture in the avatar universe. The Air Nomads and both of the Water Tribes were the most accepting and tolerable while the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom were the least accepting, and showed little progress. Fun Fact: Avatar Kyoshi was the first known Bi-sexual Avatar. Also, Kya and Aiwei were both gays. Thank you Normies for everything! I’ll wait for your reactions to the live action series of ATLA!

Anonymous

reading this post bryan konietzko posted on the tumblr might answer some questions y'all have about the final scene http://bryankonietzko.tumblr.com/post/105916338157/korrasami-is-canon-you-can-celebrate-it-embrace

Thank you all for reacting to both series and giving Korra a chance. I feel many people were just too attached to ATLA that they didn't even bother with TLOK so I really enjoyed watching y'all fall in love with these characters! Also here is another point of view on the Korrasami relationship https://youtu.be/YLHvo5RFFFs

Frankie H

Rewatching it now the Korra Asami thing makes more sense now that I'm looking for it. Remember Korra only wrote back to Asami during her physical therapy sessions in the south pole at the start of the season. They dropped as many hints as they could get away with for a Nick show at that time period.

William Abbott

Perfect way to summarize the finale Rana, I was hoping for an epic avatar state battle vs the iron giant haha, legend of korra season 3 was my favorite but I never complained about an extra season of my favorite series.

Fadilla Achmad

Thank you for the journey The Normies. You guys have a special place in my heart

Anonymous

That budget cut took away one of the planned episodes and turned it into a recap. they had to rewrite the whole end of the series. Maybe it was a backstory episode that they rewrote and shortened to a few quick lines here and there?!?! We probably wont ever really know the original planned arc for the finale.

Anonymous

Finally this garbage is over!

Dajefe70

I had the same reaction to the end. Great finale, but that last ending was just so jarringly abrupt it completed changed my mood to wtf is going on?

Alexandre Boutin

You should react to the 107 facts videos about avatar, they are pretty good

Anonymous

Good reaction, as per usual :). Man, I can't believe it's finally over. I don't really know what to say! lol. I enjoyed watching y'all react to BOTH of these series, and I'm definitely feeling a little sad right now. For the contest, I think my favorite moment definitely happened while you guys were reacting to episode 9 of season 1. That's the one called "Out of the Past" and it is SUCH a good episode. At a certain point, Tarrlock is walking up a set of stairs and Amon is standing at the top. From that moment until the end of the episode I remember laughing with the utmost joy at almost every single reaction y'all had. It was just so perfect! :D. Here, I'll post a link: https://youtu.be/xwphQaCe7PA?t=860 Anyways, love you guys! Gonna go watch yall's reactions to the comics now. Can't wait for GOT!!!!!! Edit: Everyone talks about Season 3 and Zaheer (both of whom I love), but I feel like people forget just how good Season 1 really was! Zaheer is phenomenal, but it's really his philosophy and spirituality more than anything else that draw you in -- and even then most people recognize that he's a tad bit extreme xD. With Amon, not only was his philosophy sound, but his power and skill were just so freaking mystifying! It's very rare that you come across such an enthralling villain. Reminds me of Azula. AND WHAT ABOUT THE LORE DROP FROM TARRLOK??? WHAT ABOUT THE PLOT TWISTS??? Cmon man! I think Season 1 is the best season, and I loved watching you guys react to it :). Okay I'm done. LOL.

KuzonFire121

The feeling isn't the same as watching the ATLA finale, I agree, but I think Korra's finale, specifically the self sacrifice scene, is better put together than its counterpart in ATLA, aka Aang and Ozai go orange and blue for the fate of the world. The concept is the same, self sacrifice with zero hesitation. Aang had no idea his own spirit would be unbendable, which is pointed out by the fact that he almost became completely overwhelmed with Ozai's spirit energy before winning out. (Basically, he almost turned all the way orange.) Korra had no previous experience bending the spirit weapon but jumped in front of Kuvira and bent the blast without hesitation. The exchange between Korra and Kuvira in the spirit world is beautiful, intimate and personal. Nothing like the lion turtle gets in the way of their connection. Korra and Kuvira have a genuine moment where they let down the walls that protect who they really are and share their real selves with each other. This feeling of empathy and compassion brings out the best of the general theme of self sacrifice this series has championed from the beginning.

Jose

This is the sad-happy ending song of The legend of korra that always makes me emotional every single time i listen to it. Hope you guys love it. <3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pcxrdP3ums

I think part of the anger about the final minute was that it felt inorganic that Korra and Asami were getting to get together, but at the same time, the show didn't fully commit to the bit.

Tommy

I agree with Korrasami. The ending is supposed to represent a new beginning, and one part of that is the beginning of a new romantic relationship with Asami. Korra is just starting to fully become who she was meant to be.

Anonymous

Hallo Normies! :D Thank you so much for bringing Avatar and Korra to your channel. I love these shows so much so it was amazing to see you guys react to it :) loved it. I will say this though since I see it so much with people watching the show and being all like "it makes no sense they are together (Korra and Asami) they have only been hinting at it since end of season 3 and throughout season 4" well but I think that is plenty of time considering that it only took Korra 2-3 episodes before she fell in love with Mako but nobody is thinking strangely about that, just saying ;)

Tommy

This show is what helped normalize LGBT+ representation in literally all other animation shows 👌🏼

For the contest, here are my favorite moments from your reactions. Tales of Ba Sing Se, of course the Iroh bit, but the Sokka story and your insertion of the rap battle meme had me rolling! Really the entire episode of The Guru, but your reaction to the metal bending was just awesome. The utter shock on your faces and real palpable emotion from The Crossroads of Destiny. Reacting to the dragons in The Firebending Masters. And who could forget your beautiful reaction to the betrayal in the Boiling Rock. On a more personal level, watching your reactions made me revisit a series I already loved while paying much closer attention to the things I missed, turning my love of this series into an obsession. There are so many character and visual storytelling elements I missed when I first watched. Not only did you guys help bring attention to these things, but watching you guys lead me to other channels like Blind Wave, with still more that went into great detail about the amazing elements of this show, such as Hello Future Me, Weight of Cinema, Sage's Rain, and others I'm forgetting. Your reactions truly sent me deep down the Avatar rabbit hole, and what an incredible journey it has been.

hey normies! I think i was confused when i saw the korrasami moment but when I looked back, I understood it. they started planting the clues from season 4. Perhaps my favorite moments from the atla reactions has been you guys comparing Nahid to Sokka and him denying it repeatedly. truly a highlight of every episode.

R. Lewis

They actually started planting subtle clues in Season 3, since they knew they would have two more seasons to make the decision to follow through on it. It's only in Season 4, when they didn't even air it on TV, that they decided "Okay, let's actually make good on the hints and do it."

Anonymous

Yes, Korrasami is a official thing. They expand upon it in the Comics :)

Great analysis of the final scene and I agree with all of it

Great reaction

one big gripe I had overall with the show was korra getting a nerfed avatar state. I think the creators not knowing if there would be another season each one they made put them in a corner. aang in the ozai fight was like an unstoppable force of nature. Korra on the other hand seemed to only get a noticeable power boost. what happened to the power that let kiyoshi seperate and move an island land mass? the free flight and elemental manipulation by aang? a robot even of that size shouldn't have been a huge problem. I just remember being dissapointed that korra couldn't do anything to it when I watched the finale

Wonderful analysis of the finale and I agree with all of it

Yes, they are definitely together lol the comics that have recently come out have confirmed it. Am hoping to see you four react to the Korra comics like ATLA

Jules Eris

When you rewatch Korra (especially the last season) with the knowledge that Her and Asami get together, it makes a lot more sense. Their relationship has been building slowly towards it but you kind of only notice it when you already know it will happen.

I wish they just didn't waste 4x8

What an adventure 🥳

It has been truly an amazing ride Normies, I really can't stress this enough. I am one of the many fans that have been on here since A:TLA Book 1 Chapter 1 and the amount of love and appreciation you have guys have for the series was such an amazing thing to experience with. Especially as someone who literally grew up with this show. I gotta say, one of my favorite moments were Chris calling 'The Storm' episode a filler 😂😂😂, Nahid spilling beer on Rana, the amount of times Nahid denied being like Sokka, Uncle Iroh's emotional segment on 'Tales of Ba Sing Se', all of your jaws dropping every season finale and honestly so many more to list.

I remember having similar reactions to yall when I watched it live. The Korrasammi thing seemed rushed to me, and Korra vs Kuvira wasnt nearly as hyped as Korra vs Zaheer. Even with the rewatch with yalls reactions, i still feel like The Last Airbender is the benchmark that Korra just never reached

John Niño

I agree. At some degree, the payoff doesn't quite pay off so to say. It's good for what it is, but we all know it could have been a little better. But, to each our own. For what it's worth, I'm glad for what Korra (the series) has added upon the world of ATLA

Anonymous

Did they say they started reacting to the comics already? Are they on Patreon? Also, I was shipping Korra and Asami pretty early on, and I was sure they were going that route by the end of season 3, when Asami was taking care of Korra. They were never really stereotypically girly-friends, Asami has been the kind of grounding moral compass for Korra throughout in the same way Katara had been for Aang.

Mordirit

Idk, what we saw her doing with that robot was very on par with Kuruk's Avatar State. I think people keep committing the mistake of comparing ending Aang. It's funny because many people point to the Poison of the Red Lotus episode and go "see, THAT is the real Avatar State" and yes, that is the only time we see Korra do the same thing Aang did there. That is not what the Avatar State is supposed to be, it's not meant to be a crazy hurricane of all elements destroying everything on it's path, it IS meant to be a small power boost... At least it was retconned to be that since Book 2 of AtLA. What Aang was doing in that finale was entirely out of his hands, just like when Korra lost control while poisoned: crazy and chaotic power with no measure of control. What we see Korra do for the rest of the show is what we only saw Aang do for one scene when, after defeating Ozai, he calmly goes into the State and raises the sea by a few feet to put out the fires in the shore. THAT is what a real Avatar State is supposed to be, and it is what we see all the other avatars doing in the flashbacks.

Lavota Carter

I think rewatching this series over again knowing the Korrassami is going to happen... it is more noticeable that was a direction they could have gone. The blushing, writing only with her, also the chemistry between them was just more. With all of the new Avatar Squad Korra had a better chemistry with Asami, even from the beginning because she bonded with her being against certain feminine traits despite being beautiful.

Varun Narayanswamy

You bet that's kanon Korra Asami relationship. Also why were people mad. If you look back, it's actually super obvious you're like damn.

The one thing that bums me out about this reaction is that you got to watch the finale knowing the live action series is coming out on Netflix! When it aired, it really felt like we were saying goodbye to Avatar for good, which made the ending all the more emotional for me. The creators weren't exactly shy about how burned out they were, and had no plans on revisiting the world or continuing with another series. (I'm sure they were tired of dealing with Nickelodeon, too.) The music in the final scene is fantastic, of course, but I still associate hearing it with that feeling of saying goodbye forever to a good friend. I well up every time. EDIT: Speaking of the final music cue, I was happy to have stumbled across this awhile back: http://songexploder.net/jeremy-zuckerman

It's crazy that the Normies crew is done watching both series' now. As someone who watched them during the original run, it's always great to re-watch them and maybe notice an extra thing or two I might've missed on my previous 100 re-watches (I'm exaggerating...kind of). For those who might want to learn more, Nickelodeon Animation has a podcast channel if you didn't already know. Here's one with the Korra cast: https://youtu.be/BFTZNZTkxl4 And here's one with Jeremy Zuckerman and Bryan: https://youtu.be/SeU1qnuEoGY These are links to their YouTube but you can also find them on actual podcast platforms too.

Damn this was a good run, when i found out a good youtube group reacted to ATLA and the way you all individually felt about it reminded me if how great this show was & all the good times I had watching this with my mom before she moved away, It's a show to forget all worries and feed you positive resolve to make the best mark you can on the universe for yourself and the loved ones around you. Had to ride this out with yall. Cant believe its done. I'm busting of emotions right now 😂😭 Thanks Normies!

Ugh I’m going to miss you reacting to this series! But don’t worry, just because this series is over, doesn’t mean I’m gonna leave y’all. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to rewatch your reactions 😂

PKKite

The relationship came out of nowhere with only hints in season 4. It was bad writing.

Anonymous

This was the spoiler i didn't want to mention. Their relationship is explained further in the comics. I'm personally ok with it. Back then and now. If you read the comics it makes a little more sense.

Anonymous

I won’t lie, this show could have been so much greater if Nickelodeon hadn’t screwed it over so much 😭😭

Anonymous

I mean, it's telling that the writer's needed to come out and confirm the relationship after the fact. It actually retroactively made season 4 worse to me in the writing department because they didn't do it well enough to support the relationship building. The fact of the matter is, the time she blushed after the compliment, the letters she wrote could've been just as easily have been done with a good friend rather than something that's exclusive to a romantic interest. Even still it's nothing to get angry over though, personally was just disappointment that this show with otherwise really strong writing failed on this aspect imo.

Anonymous

They do end up together Korra is the first gay avatar

Eric Hernandez

Yeah the relationship building was off (which is how I felt too initially), but I do imagine it would’ve been difficult to build a gay relationship on a Nick show. They couldn’t even end it on a kiss and I imagine that’s because Nickelodeon didn’t want to push the envelope that far. I’m sure if this was a Netflix series or on any other channel/platform, it would have had better relationship building. As it is, the show got some slack for trying to “push the LGBTQ agenda” for that ending and they left it pretty ambiguous enough that some people questioned whether that was more than just a friendship thing.

Lucas Anthony Parsons

Some were pissed about Korra and Asami, even more were pissed Nickelodeon suppressed the majority of the LGBTQ+ themes, especially putting the foot down to the creaters saying "no gay kiss"
