i was looking for something else for the Denizen this month when I found a pile of Old Book Planning Notebooks and smiled. I keep all my notes for each book in their own individual notebook and honestly, it's mostly lists and structure maps. Lists of possible names usually take up the first many pages--and that's what this is.

The first notes for what became The Refrigerator Monologues.

You can see a list of possible superhero/villain names, the beginning of mapping out the archtypes for the superhero templates I wanted to use and transform into something that wouldn't get me in trouble with Marvel. You can see that almost none of these names made it in--and a few that did. Some of them still crack me up. THE DRAMATIC GORILLA. What, Cat? Were you drinking? But you can see little glints of the book to come.

I thought you guys might like it to see it! A PEEK INTO MY MESSY-ASS MIND.

Boy do I want to read the comics from this universe. Hal Cyon: he's unremarkable, but everyone remembers him being great Dinochrome: she's a hyper-intelligent ferrofluid who can only take the shape of dinosaurs Six Figure: a stock-bro who can split into 6 copies of himself The Roustabout: a skilled grappler with a cutting wit (literally). Her powers only work at circuses and oil rigs, so she doesn't show up too often)

So Six Figure definitely made it into the Samantha Dane/Avant Garde chapter. I think Hal Cyon is in the Julia Ash chapter too but I’m not positive, there’s a lot of background characters mentioned by name that don’t appear as much more than a cameo. How did I not use Dinochrome tho?
