The 8 shining generals were the old generals, the mage warriors are the new ones who are replacing them. The 3 old generals sent to Kiten were used to just collect information I think. Also dont know if you picked it up but Langris deleted the slime guys arm previously lol

the issue with william vangeance in this anime, is that he grows trees. that's his magic and the problem is. how would that work in a fight. how could you expand on that kinda magic. sure he can throw seeds, maybe throw some wood around. who knows, but none of that is interesting in an anime. sadly they just wrote him into a corner he can't escape! especially since charlotte kinda covers all the vine type magic and Mimosa with plants.
