On my first viewing, I thought it was good, with the sister character being a stand-out for me. I've seen the movie a few more times now, both on my own and along with reactors like Ana here and it has gotten better every time. I love it now. And I can't wait until we get more of Yelena in "Hawkeye".

I loved the song American Pie when I was a kid, so I could relate to that. Not much else I could relate to in the movie, though. It kind of diverges from my life experiences at a certain point. 😀

Finally watched it. Tried to watch it on Disney+ but I couldn't hear it; your audio was audible though, so this worked. Haven't watched Hawkeye yet (tried to but the terrible writing stymied me pretty early on... I'm assuming it gets less cringy if I push through but... it's just tough when it starts that bad). But I'm assuming Yelena is the next Black Widow; if she's working for the evil JLD, then one assumes it'll only be for a bit; if Hawkeye is her target then one assumes she learns the truth and decides to leave JLD's employ, probably to replace Natasha on the Avengers.

Update: I watched the Hawkeye tv show. I won't get into the details too much, but I think it got SO MUCH better after the first episode. Most of the cringy stuff, bad writing/dialogue, was pretty front-loaded. I'm not sure it was a great show, but by far the most important thing was Kate and Clint's relationship, and they fucking NAILED it. Really really good. Other good stuff too... I honestly didn't enjoy Kate's origin story/flashback all that much (not bad, just not good either), but both the Echo/Mara and Yelena flashback's were *fantastic*. Yelena's was maybe a bit better, more elegant, but Echo's was for a character we'd never seen before, so the degree of difficulty was higher. There were definitely elements that I thought were bad or even terrible, but overall I had a great time. Honestly, maybe my favorite MCU tv show. (Loki was probably "better", but... I'm just not a huge Loki fan.)

I love this movie, but I felt kind of bad. I wanted a Black Widow movie ever since she was introduced. Was so devastated to lose Nat. Then finally got this movie, and Yelena ended up stealing the show. Love her and feel a little guilty about it.
