Weekly Blog Update 11/25/19 The Domain (Patreon)

Hello all and welcome back to another weekly blog update!

Today we will be going over how the story will unravel going forward from Henesys. 

As any player understands you have 1 goal and that is to murder the current King. We have changed many concepts since the beginning of King's Fall but we always wanted the player to meet the King before actually fighting him. To understand him and his ambitions so one can feel hatred, sympathy, etc before landing that final blow. Because of this need to explore him we didn't know how to go about all of this. Until Henesys. 

Last week I went over wanting to explore sadness with the writing. That sadness will carry over into meeting the King. By following Leonore's quest path you will find yourself in a place beyond time itself. Where someone could peer through everyone's life and death. The end goal is for the Hero and the player to solve the mystery of what happened when the Demon King rose to power and why the King killed his brother. We are going to be introducing

The Domain 

Once the Hero reaches this point he will unlock a means to go back to it at any given time. The reason is now every time the player dies, the player meets someone crucial to the world,  or kills someone The Domain will change. This change is reflected through memories of why that person did what they did and unravel a HUGE conspiracy about the world and the current King. The end goal is for the King to appear in The Domain. To find out his weakness, his goals, why he has never left his throne in these hundred years. 

As a writer sometimes villains appear only to die and you never know why they felt the way they did or why they became villains. The Domain is my way of exploring all of this. To add more character development for characters/villains. It's also there to add a Mystery element. One that players can explore if they choose too. 

The Domain will also serve a purpose for the Hero's Development. Every time he finds a Darkness Weapon he will find out about it here. As his powers grow he will learn how to use his powers inside The Domain. His own end goal will appear inside here. To become a Knight of Darkness. There is still a lot more I want to talk about but it wouldn't make sense until players actually explore The Domain themselves. 

We are still hard at work adding a lot more content to the game as we wrap up what we need. We understand we are very slow but this update has to be all together. It makes no sense to break it up into pieces but you will know when you get your hands on it. The good news is our artist has returned from his hiatus and we will be sharing what he has been working on. The line art is done for a lot of characters so I will be sharing a few of them in the coming days. 

Next week we will be discussing some more QOL improvements and some fun little things we will be adding to the game to add a nice little spin on things heh.
