Extended Thoughts

This episode touches on themes that  are visceral. The scene that really stood out to me was cut the scene in which we actually get to see lab is struggling and feeling chained down to a relationship or a fusion that is completely detrimental for her health.   compounded by the fact that she refuses to get any help or be helped by people that want the best for her.

It is quite clear, what this is a metaphor for I don't think I have to explain it but seeing her in such abject pain and having her accept her fate and feeling like it's her responsibility to bear this unhealthy weight on her shoulders is super telling.  ALSO STEVEN CAN CONNECT WITH PEOPLE IN THERE DREAM WT....DANG MAN

fun fact, “Chille Tid” ( Ch•ill•uh T•ee•d ) is Norwegian, and means “Chill Time”. In other words, it means “Good Vibes”.

The lgbtq+ stuff is ultimate what got the show in so much trouble. They were supposed to have six seasons, but Cartoon Network basically said, "Look, you can have your one BLATANTLY GAY scene, or you can have your sixth season." Rebecca chose the scene. So the whole series was cut short a season and super rushed to a finale because of it. They also made the episode tie so heavily into the plot that it COULDN'T be cut in airings. That was one of the final "heck you"s they got to give to Cartoon Network about this. Cartoon Network even lured Rebecca's (now) husband off of SU, when he was one of the main writers, because they hoped it would help tone the "gay stuff" but when they gave him a show to lure him off of SU, he just wrote more "gay stuff" for his own show instead. They did eventually get greenlit for Future, but they were constantly being told they couldn't be bold with this one, so it's just... really noticeable that happened, and it hurts a lot to see how much they struggled just to get even the smallest details included in. Rebecca and the team fought SO HARD to get what they could in the show, and honestly, the inclusivity in the cartoon industry has advanced leaps and bounds thanks to them. I'm so, so happy to see how far we've come, even though there's always room for further improvement.
