Hey David since we got RWBY volume 9 coming out this Saturday, will you be reacting to the new season? I miss seeing your reactions to it and it looks promising from what we’ve seen in the trailers

You are not ready for the volume 8 finale my guy! You are not ready! I will say though, please please please remember to watch after the credits, you're gonna need it for this one. Also, just an aside, with them going to Vaccuo, I don't remember if it comes up in the show, but in the books (which are canon) that's where team SSSN and team CFVY went, so hey, maybe we'll see them again in volume 9.

Team SSSN were established as heading to Vacuo at the start of V6 but only the books have established that CFVY is there, too.

I know that you said you were hoping for Cinder to have a banger redemption arc, but I actually think she's the primary antagonist of the show, not Salem. Consider that she was established in the very first episode of the show; as Ruby is the primary protagonist, Cinder is her primary antagonist. I think Cinder is going to be the prime example of someone who is just too far gone and will be how Ruby herself learns that you can't save everyone. I think Cinder will fall in combat. Interestingly, I think Salem might be taken care of via "talk no jutsu;" we know that there is technically a condition where Salem can finally die if she finds a way to understand the importance of life and death, somehow. (I think Cinder might actually attempt to siphon Salem's powers (and quite possibly succeed)) You could possibly view Cinder's actions in E13 as the start of her redemption *as a villain.* That's how I viewed it back when this aired, anyway. She'd taken L after L, just as Watts pointed out, and it seems she's taking on a smarter approach. Will that actually manifest as a W next episode? Tune in next time. XD

So yeah this episode marks the return of V2/3 Cinder, the smart cunning and coniving Cinder who keeps her goals in mind. Honestly a smart Cinder is scary as all get out because she is full of rage. Salem is scary but Salem is also....she's detached from it all, you could see it way back in Ep7, she's just conducting a symphony and that people are dying doesn't even register to her. That's terrifying but at the same time its harder to get emotional about it because Salem isn't emotional about it, she kills and destroys because that is what she does, she is a tornado or a hurricane destructive and deadly but what can you hate about a tornado? Cinder though, smart and dedicated Cinder knows what she is doing is evil and she just doesn't care, or alternatively she hungers for power as the sole means of escape that she is willing to burn any and every bridge along the way. The show is so much better when the villain is both hateable and smart. Anyway rest up and buckle in for "The Final Word" and please please please watch through until after the credits (for that matter the song during the credits is one hell of a banger as well especially given what happens). Good luck and almost welcome to the hiatus.

i just wanna quickly say in the intro it sounds like you're preparing for a series finale, which this isn't just yet volume 9's still underway so there will be more, but yeah this is the end of what we have so far
