Steven Universe Season 2 Episode 11 Cry for help:

A cry for help really really hit me in the feels we have  this incoming threat from peridot and the Crystal Gems have to do with simple thing which is just break the communications Tower. obviously we understand what happens in the episode but seeing Pearl want to fuse with someone so bad that she would  lie to Garnet about her scheme to continuously break the communications Tower just so she could fuse with Garnet again.

Pearl strikes me as a third wheel. Someone who has always yearned for something outside of herself to make her feel complete, First it was Rose, then it was Steven, then garnet.  It is a recurring theme of her needing to escape herself in a way.

Man, the absolutely human lives these gems live. It's wild how this show takes you from "haha cat fingers" to knots-in-your-stomach real life conflict- not just the big things, but these sort of interpersonal dramas between eachother. You can FEEL the tension when Pearl is caught in her lie.

Pearl said "We can't do this again!" when they found out Peridot was showing up and bringing reinforcements. They're still not out of hot water yet, and Pearl deep down is terrified they're not going to make it out a second time. "I just wanted to share a few more victories with you." Before the failure. Fusions are the embodiment of the relationship between the Gems -- and because Garnet loves herself so much (because Ruby and Sapphire love each other), Pearl feels what it's like to be whole, to feel loved and to finallylove herself. But she thinks she can only feel that with Garnet. She doesn't quite realize that she could truly have that for herself -- at least the self-love part -- if she took time and worked on herself and made peace with her past and her mistakes. Amethyst, too. She doesn't think she's enough on her own, and relies on others to help her feel worthwhile and whole and loved. Thinking about herself and her flaws is painful, and of course it is -- shining a mirror to yourself is terrifying and too much for a lot of people, so they just don't deal with their problems at all. It's so heartbreaking, and it's a scenario that happens so often in the real world. Hating yourself and using underhanded ways to make yourself feels better in the moment can and does hurt the people around you, and even break bonds you've had for a long time. It's such a good lesson for kids -- or any age, really -- to see like this. Pearl was never trying to HURT Garnet with this. But she DID. Even if you're not meaning to, you can really hurt people you care about. Try to be honest with your loved ones. Learn to be kind to yourself. These are great lessons. I do have a lot of self-worth/self-love issues, but I'm in therapy and looking forward to making progress on my future. I know Future Me will thank me, haha. I think I fall somewhere between Amethyst and Pearl in a lot of ways, but I'm so much better than I was, and seeing that gives me pride in my progress and hope for even more progress!
