Can't wait for the next episodes! This one is one of my favourites in the first season. It's just so wholesome

I really love this episode it’s one of the episodes that displays Steven’s growth. He didn’t shout and scream even if he was angry he put it aside to show love for them gems. It gets me a little emotional each time I see it.

This was one of the best early episodes to really focus on character growth and refer back to earlier events. I love the precedent it sets that there is no “filler” in the show. Every episode has something to remember about Steven, the Gems, or a Beach City native. So good!

I love the moment when Steven decides to take on the 'parent' role to ease the gems' feelings. It's a fantastic character moment, yes, but it's also foreshadowing for so many emotional moments in this series as well as for plot dynamics in Steven Universe Future. It's incredible to think of how far back this relationship dynamic was set up, and it's just rendered and rendered throughout the whole show. So while I like this moment for the character development, I /love/ this moment for the seed it plants within Steven which both grows and festers. When you reach the Steven Universe movie and then Steven Universe Future, you'll certainly see it, and I hope you'll remember the moments that built up to (in my opinion) a great and satisfying payoff.

Monopoly destroys families. Just saying. Be careful of the power you play with.

I don't know if you go back and read comments on old posts, but this is one of the episodes that makes me bawl my eyes out every time without fail. As someone who both struggles very heavily in having strength and confidence in myself, and also grew up with young and immature parents and often was forced to grow up early to help them grow or assure them or take care of them, this episode hits too close to home, every single time. The emotions that both Steven and the gems feel resonate with me heavily in this episode. -Also David
