Weekly Writing Update - 1/20/20 (Patreon)

I'm still working on the major update that'll be released at the end of the month, so if you're curious what's in it, be sure to go back and read over last week's update. I also just wanted to remind people that I did edit it after receiving feedback and I also included an extra dinner scene that I forgot to mention when I originally wrote the outline. 

Okay, with that out of the way, here's some new stuff I've been working on, in addition to what I already mentioned: 

1) I added a 'Minor Characters' section to the phone with credits to people who don't appear frequently enough to warrant their own section/epilogue. 

2) Moving forward, I've decided to change how I display locked major/mastered lights to cheaters. Now, instead of teasing you with what could have been the effect if you were further along in the story, the choice will just say 'Gain a large amount of [color] experience.' I would like to go back and do it that way for everything from the beginning of the game for new players, but that'd be very time consuming, and it'd only affect cheaters anyway, so that won't be happening anytime soon. 

3) I decided to bulk up the 'no lights' option when you go to Brittany's party. Now, you'll be able to play beer pong with your favorite girl between Brittany, Kayla, and Heather. Hope you leveled up fitness :). 

4) I added some books to the Archives in the library that you can read for more background lore. If you're on a path where you haven't unlocked the Archives yet, don't worry, that'll be coming in February. Also, no one has to worry about reading the lore or studying the books or anything to understand the story. It's all completely optional. New 'books' will get added periodically to the Archives for you to read, but I'll mention new additions in future updates when they happen and you'll get notifications in-game when there's new stuff to check out.

5a) There are two minor retcons I've made to previous scenes. The first has to do with Monica when she's transformed at the pep rally. If you tried to impregnate her, the game mentioned that it probably wouldn't have any effect, but that's actually inconsistent with how I treated it in future scenes. So I went back and changed some of the wording and then added the pregnancy counter. If you already experienced this scene in your save, don't worry, the pregnancy gets updated at the start of day 3. 

5b) The second retconned scene is with the pink light in the parking lot. In the original scene, it was stated that the light was only affecting Karen and not Mrs. Maywood. I felt that made some of what happened a little too weird though, so I went back and made a minor alteration to imply that Mrs. Maywood was likely feeling the effects of the moderate light as well. It's not worth revisiting the scene if you've already seen it, but just wanted to give a head's up for any future references to it.
