During the live chat, it occured to me that I have yet to share my full list of books that have helped me IMMENSELY. Most are geared toward body health, but when our bodies function better, so do our minds and spirits. :) I've definitely felt the effects of reverting back to unhealthy foods for longer periods and can tell you that it's worth eliminating inflammatory foods. Since starting this anti-inflammatory diet with JD, I've had far less irritation in my stomach. I mean, I went a whole month with almost zero gas! Gross, but true!! I lost 9 lbs in 3 months, not that I care about losing weight, but it was literally just a side effect from eating better.

I will say that almost all of these books get soooo hippie dippie at times that you may be tempted to stop reading/listening, but it's worth finishing them all. A lot of them repeat bits of information and research, but I love that. It's helped reinforce better habits for me. I don't live 100% by any of these, but just taking away the bits that resonate with you will help. :)

I highly recommend starting with the first book listed as it is a great buffer to lead into everything else. And if you're a skeptic, just go straight down the list as each one gets more in depth.

Salt, Sugar, Fat: How The Food Giants Hooked Us - Michael Moss

The End of Overeating - David A. Kessler, MD

Grain Brain: The Surprising Truth about Wheat, Carbs, and Sugar--Your Brain's Silent Killers - David Perlmutter and Kristin Loberg

Eat Dirt - Why Leaky Gut May Be The Root Cause of Your Health Problems - Dr. Axe

The Bulletproof Diet - Dave Asprey

Never Be Sick Again - Raymond Francis

At the end of the day, I believe it all boils down to being conscious of what we put into our bodies. You wouldn't put a random can of fluid into your vehicle as gasoline just because someone paid for really great advertising on it, would you? Same for what we put into our bodies. :) We have to think about what's best for us longterm.
