Hello there! This week we're taking a peek a some fun Christmas specials and commercials, spanning celebs from Bea Arthur to David Bowie. Also, after last week a few folks suggested I say a few more words about the show Gargoyles, and you don't need to ask me twice.

Great video! On Mastodon, could you pop a link to your account please? Searching for it is not bringing up anything 😔

I love being one of your Patrons! And thank you a for the shoutout and the homage to Tiny Tim. He really is oddly charismatic and intriguing.

oh wow that is one of my favorite versions of the little drum boy, I have no idea it was created for that.

Thanks for all of your great work this year, Matt! Looking forward to seeing/hearing more in 2023!

Zardogs! Zardogs!

Matt, thank YOU for what you do. There is so much LGBTQ history that was lost in the distant past that it would be a shame to lose the history of the more recent past (recent enough that I was alive for it) especially since it's the age of the community coming out of the closet. You're also making it more accessible to people who don't want to read weighty academic tomes. I remember the Crosby/Bowie video making the rounds in the very early days of the internet. It may have even been pre-YouTube. It's been one of my favorite renditions of Drummer Boy simce. The idea that they made it so quickly os a testament to both of their talents.

As a kid in the 70's, Crosby's Christmas shows were the highlight (along with Rankin Bass specials) of the season. That was Bing's last one, he had died a few months earlier. The added material absolutely makes it the best version of that song.

I will say that Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth is my FAVOURITE song to hear around the holidays.
