I've put together a game design doc for Sugarplum Cafe! GDD for short. A GDD is supposed to be a document that describes in detail what your game is going to be like - every type of gameplay, every setting, etc. The intention behind making a GDD is so you can get a clear vision of what you want your game to be.

To be honest, I've never liked making GDDs for that purpose - you know how making a to-do list makes you feel as accomplished as actually doing the tasks? So I feel like making a GDD makes people feel like they've already done the hard work when they haven't even started developing the game, so if you put your full efforts into the GDD then your game will never get made...

BUT, what I do like making a GDD for is to have a proper place describing the game that I can just link to anyone who's interested, instead of having to write the same thing over and over again. So that's what I've tried to do here - it's not a very detailed GDD because I want to focus on finishing a prototype first, but hopefully it explains the game well enough.

And since this is primarily an art Patreon, here are some new screen mockups that I made specifically for the GDD. This is for a minigame I'd like to introduce to represent customer orders, which will kind of be like Sudoku but with desserts instead of numbers. You'll have to figure out the right assortment of desserts for each customer!

The prototype itself is going well, I've been avidly coding for the past few weeks so I don't have as much art to show here. It's looking really great though, I can't wait to show you! I'm hoping to have some proper gifs and videos of the prototype by the end of this month.
