Hey folks, I need some mod compatibility testing for this simple quality of life plugin before I upload it on the Nexus.

It's a SKSE plugin that removes the stamina costs of sprinting while out of combat (affects your mount too), and stamina damage applied while attacking out of combat.

It should theoretically handle any mods that add stamina costs to attacks, as long as they use the intended function to do so (the ActorValueOwner class's virtual function, for example the vanilla power attacks use this).

Let me know if any mods get past this, and I'll see if anything can be done without being too intrusive.

AE/SE already with a FOMOD installer. There's also a simple .toml config file if you want to disable one of the features.

As for Precision, I'm currently working on reimplementing the weapon trails in a new, much better way.

UPDATE: Reuploaded the archive, the FOMOD wasn't installing the .toml file.

UPDATE 2: Reuploaded the archive, the FOMOD still wasn't installing the .toml file when SE was selected.

I finally made the step to 1.6.640 and it would be great if this could get an update to that version. It's the only one that I'm missing. Thanks for your amazing work!

Ersh

I completely forgot about this. I'll try to get back to it and upload it on the Nexus soon after I'm done with OAR.

Well, I can test it with my 700+ modded Skyrim when I get home. How's it different from Elden Sprint?

Ersh

It's SKSE, not Papyrus, so no weird hacky stuff. It also only affects stamina costs for sprinting, and while attacking, so any other sort of stamina damage while out of combat should be working as before.

Niko

The new upload still doesn't have a the .toml file attached to it. Also mod organizer is showing a failed plugins notification. Edit: Alright so it was only the Pre-Anniversary install that doesn't have the required .toml file so I just extracted it from the anniversary version. Now it's working as expected! God-like work Ersh

works great for me

works great on 1.6.353. i tested it with around 1k mods and didn't run into any issues. I use a few combat mods that introduce stamina cost as well, and it works for attacks out of combat as well.

Ersh

Thanks! It's the stamina cost mods that I expected to have compatibility issues, happy to hear that it works correctly.

Rico

Anyone here have tested this with Valhalla Combat beta ? Works fine with sprint outside of combat, but attacking outside of combat still cost stamina.

I had a crash with it on a horse as soon as I started sprinting with the horse. mods that alter horses: - Convenient Horses + AE Patch - Horse Exploits Fixed - Stamina of Steeds Crashlog link: https://pastebin.com/C10eXgHZ

Ersh

Thanks for the log! I'll have to look into it, curious how it could've caused a crash.

It's working fine for me, and it doesn't have the slightly annoying bit of stamina loss that's immediately recovered like in Elden Sprint. One thing though; if I spam the attack buttons out of combat, it DOES take stamina on occasion. Not if I just hit it once or something. Also, stamina regen pauses when I run out of combat if I am not at full stamina. So it also pauses regen, at least for me.

Ersh

Hmm I guess the attacking cost from the mod you're using that adds stamina cost to attacks is applied a bit late, after the player character doesn't count as "attacking" anymore. That could cause it to slip through. Not sure if I can do anything about that, without getting too intrusive. I'm aware of the regen pause while sprinting, and even though it wasn't intentional at all, I kinda like it. It's also how it works in Elden Ring.

Anonymous

Yeah, it only happens if I spam attack out of combat, and only sometimes. It works fine from what I've tested on combat though, and achieves the stamina pause out of combat fine when it comes to sprinting, so overall it works better for my load order than Elden Sprint was.

Just started using elden stamina and disabled elden sprint. So far i prefer this over elden sprint by alot! I honestly dont mind the stamina regen stopping when i sprint after combat because it doesnt continue to drain your stamina like Elden sprint did. Before i had to wait till my stamina refilled entirely if i wanted unlimited stamina out of combat, but now i dont! Thank you again for such an amazing quality of life mod! EDIT: i'll update this if i find any of my mods conflicting with this and report here to let you know what conflicts

Good to see that someone that knows how to make plugins picked this up, Elden sprint was always only intended as a hotfix.

Ersh

Oh hey you made Elden Sprint! I actually had the sprint portion of this done back when ER's closed network test ended, but I didn't have a good idea how to handle the stamina cost for attacks, as mods could probably do it in various ways, and I left it alone. Then I've seen Elden Sprint released and thought there's no point in finishing it up. Just got reminded about my plugin recently and learned about the incompatibilities of Elden Sprint with stuff like Thunderchild meditation, and came up with the idea to simply disable stamina damage while attacking. Seems to work fine. I gotta fix up the AE version and upload it finally.

Is this still being worked on? It is not on Nexus and if I install it it gets disabled by skse since it is for version 1.6.353 and skyrim se is at 1.6.640,
