I became a patron because of the Jumping Jack Flash EBA reference alone!

Well... we're still in the basement. Haven't hit the big studio goal yet... I was referring to just the basement.

Lol well shoot, maybe I should chip in a bit more to help get you there.

I had a similar experience as the MinnMax crew with Outer Wilds for the first 5 hours. But it really does keep getting better. If you can push through, the final 5 hours are bananas (in a good way). Not sure if I’ll make the Discord chat, but if so, I’ll make a longer case there.

Far From Home literally made a billion dollars but apparently it didn't make a big splash? LOL what

Have to say the GOTY discussion was frequently frustrating and ultimately disappointing even though I love the Giant Bomb-style format. I know you gave the disclaimer at the beginning that you hadn't played as many games as you'd have liked to, but why didn't that cause you to delay this till after the holidays to give you a chance to play more games? This is the first game podcast I listen to to have their GOTY awards and you've played the least games. How did nobody play Slay the Spire, Dan Tack's game of the year?? Luigi's Mansion 3 was a barely played by anyone, Outer Wilds was barely played, Disco Elysium made into the top 5 with only one person playing it. Nobody played Plague Tale. Plus, you barely gave any reasons for why the games are where they are on the list. Why is RE 2 Remake your #1? I never played the original nor am I really a horror aficionado, so why should I play this game? What makes it stand out? Why is Star Wars so high up? No reasons were given. The conversation felt more like a quid pro quo negotiation for placing personal favorites than a Giant Bomb-style passionate argument over why a game belongs or doesn't belong on the list. Love you guys, but you can do better. P.S.- Ben, I really want to know the embarrassing number of games you completed. Play fewer games for longer so you have more interesting things to say about the games you've played!

Loved the show. I also wished you had played more games but as a team of 4, with you know, a life besides video games, I perfectly understand the format as it is. One thing that irked me though, and that's the argument that a VR game should be also be a great game without VR to be considered a good game. That's unfair and VR is very much a vital part of that game. You can't say it's not a great game when you take the VR aspect out, that's like saying Doom isn't a great game without the shooting. Or that Apex Legends isn't great when you're alone on a server. Better yet, saying Guitar Hero isn't good because it's not great without the guitar. Each game, in my mind, should be judged when it's firing on all cylinders, as the dev's intended. It's a VR game for a reason and that's because it's a game you play on a VR system.

You're disappointed they, as a team of four people with a hell of a lot on their plate, didn't play every single game this year? Also, the fact that it's Dan Tack's favourite game of the year shouldn't be a factor, this isn't GI, right?

Thanks for your hard work! The format was interesting, but I wonder if trying to construct a list of 20 games doesn't result in spending too little time discussing each game. I preferred the second half of the discussion when you spent more time passionately debating the merits of your favorites. Maybe less is more, in other words. Again thanks for your hard work and looking forward to 2020 with MinnMax!

I'm disappointed they didn't delay this to give them a chance to play more games over the holidays. Maybe they won't have a chance to play any games over the holidays. In that case, oh well. And disappointed they didn't argue more for why the top games are where they are. The reason for RE2 Remake's placement at #1 was basically, "We all loved that game, right?" Suriel gave a counterargument, but nobody gave an argument back. I still enjoyed the episode. Just giving constructive criticism.

I think Mortal Kombat 11 has nothing to do on the 2 teNs list.
